We stayed here for one night and we had a great time! The weather was kind and we were able to enjoy early evening drinks outside! The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious! An incredible bargain! We’ve stayed here several times before and have never been disappointed!

When we pulled up at Blackwell, I was very impressed. However, our room was small and a bit worn. When checking in the receptionist asked if we had booked our meal, which we hadn't, they only had 9pm left. That suited us but may not other people so book before. The menu was poor with limited vegetarian choice and no vegan. Was ok value for money but I won't be rushing back.

We booked this as a night away for our honeymoon (married during covid) When we got there the receptionist wasn’t pleasant and very dismissive but we thought nothing of it as it was a treat. We then went to the room which was in the alow and it was not worth the money we paid, so I spoke to reception again who said there wasn’t any other room and I’d need to deal with it. So I asked for the manager. The manager finally came over to speak to us and was very apologetic and showed us another room within the main building which was nice. Apart from this the night away dinner and breakfast was lovely

Hotel was lovely and the service was good however we did move to the bar after our meal. Waited around 15 minutes and no one came to serve us so we went to the bar to be told it was table service only. My partner sat back down and we waited another 10-15 minutes then gave up and just went to our room. Other than that we had no issues.

Our first mini break after lockdown restrictions, and decided to stay here. The original building & grounds are lovely as you sweep up the drive, the 80s Travelodge style extension doesn't look so good from the outside though. We stayed in one of the Cottage rooms, set in a quiet courtyard. and it was certainly spacious and comfortable, but seemed a little tired & dated, and in need of an update. We couldn't get the shower to work on the morning (forgot to mention it at checkout, our fault), but the bath was certainly pleasant. Evening meal was delicious, couldn't fault it, or the staff and table service. Breakfast was also good, although it was self-service, and given current restrictions we perhaps would have expected table service, especially as it was busy at that time of the morning. Also, some of the other guests didn't seem to want to adhere to social distancing guidelines when getting food; thankfully, at least masks were worn. Overall, a relaxing break in a charming hotel.

Lovely hotel. Room was nice and clean. Food was gorgeous and plentiful. The swimming pool and jacuzzi was clean, however no area to sit and just relax. Great value for the price we paid for the deal. Only downside was my car got broke into in the 2nd car park. Hotel was very helpful but this was just disappointing and inconvenient.

Stayed third time in 2 years.Great place to stay and see around Darlington and surrounding scenic attractions (Hamsterley Forrest + High and Low Falls), rooms lovely (overlooked back car park) and Staff very helpful. Shame about Covid restricting things somewhat but did not detract from our overall experience. Will be back again

Over the past two years we have visited judges hotel Yarm, the Ritz London, Rockliffe hotel Croft on spa. And none of these hotels Come a close 2nd to the Blackwell Grange Darlington. My wife daughter and sister had a two night Break and everything about the Blackwell Grange was just perfect.

Room was very nice and the staff were very helpful. Everything was very clean and there were sanitisers everywhere. We ate dinner which was good and breakfast was a full English.

Refurbished rooms fit in with the historical elements of Blackwell Grange. Enjoyed using the pool jacuzzi and sauna during my visit before the latest lockdown was applied
