The hotel is very nice the staff are helpful and polite, the room was clean and well kept, but when I arrived there had been a snow fall and the carpark was not salted so it took about 30 mins to get parked as the car wheels did not get a grip on the uphill surface. Our room was on the 3rd floor and once in, the internet did not work and there is no elevator so if you have difficulty with stairs its a struggle.

A lovely Hotel, very friendly, efficient & helpful staff. We stayed in a really big room, very comfortable but it could have done with maybe having a small table of some sort in it. All the meals were excellent & the breakfasts were first class with so much choice. The Hotel is well situated on a main bus route & with the buses being very reasonably priced which means you can leave your car at the Hotel & take a bus directly into the centre of Edinburgh.Our stay was very reasonably priced & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & we look forward to coming to stay at the Hotel again. Highly recommended.

Reception staff first class, as were all staff - both rooms were excellent - I got this as a gift for my friends 70th Birthday & the Braid Hills Hotel upgraded there room - they were well pleased Stayed in hotel for a late lunch from soup which was nice & warm plus afternoon tea - all very good The food we ordered for our dinner at night, we found for our tastes to be a bit on the cold side - sent it back & got it reheated but still not as warm as we would like, it tasted really good but a bit of a let down - then again everybody tastes are different - Bit of a mix up with bill as dinning staff did not realise that we had £18.50 each to spend towards our dinner - reception staff sorted this out with no problem. Breakfast was first class with plenty of choice We all enjoyed our stay very much but beware of the few problems we found. I would recommend this hotel & would use again

Our room was upgraded as I had stated it was my birthday, lovely room with four poster bed. Staff at reception very pleasant and helpful. Lovely old fashioned hotel. Restaurant experience not so good, got our drinks order wrong, food not very nice. Maybe this was a one-off, would stay again as everything else was good.

Hotel and staff great . We were upgraded from a double to a suite which was lovely . food was good we ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Great breakfast choices to suit everyones taste . We definitely go back .

What a beautiful hotel lovely staff our room was so lovely we had a beautiful view of Edinburgh castle breakfast was nice already looking at going back in April would highly recommend

Loved our stay here. Look forward to going back sometime. Atmosphere was warm and friendly. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The excellent situation is an added bonus if you wish to visit Edinburgh.

This was excellent value for money. The hotel was cosy and warm and well decorated. Food and service were both very good. Rooms were of a high standard and beds were very comfortable. Highly recommended .

Great visit. No issues whatsoever. Staff brilliant! Great selection at breakfast - 7 mornings - different selection each day. Lovely evening meals - reasonably priced. Drink not extortionate like other hotels. Room servicing fantastic!

We had another pleasant stay at this Hotel. Staff friendly , room was very good and food was good. Excellent base to travel into Edinburgh as bus stops right outside Hotel .

Stayed here way my partner for 2 days the hotel was lovely..staff were amazing food was delicious and room was perfect lovely views ...you can take a walk down the hill way shops restrant pubs ..or take a taxie into edinghbrugh town only 15 so we'll worth it ...do the markets ..will defo be back at this hotel ??

Clean,warm and comfortable with well appointed room.(Ours had the tea/coffee tray on a unit, under the sloping ceiling, and housed a sink with a tall tap enabling the kettle to be kept upright when being filled.)The bathroom was a good size with a great shower over the bath and an armchair in the window recess. The staff were friendly,welcoming and helpful. There was no lift which might be a problem for some if room on second floor.

Windows were noisy - rattled in the wind. The mattress was not comfortable it was a bit lumpy. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. Would stay again but not in room 415.
