Bedroom was okay - TV very small for size of room. Teabags just left out, not in wrapper. Hairdryer very small. Bathroom - very large, however shower cubicle small no power from shower and door didn't close fully.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Highlander Hotel. The staff were exceptionally efficient and friendly which made our stay very relaxing. The accommodation was good and clean also the food was excellent and overall it was very good value.

Our overnight stay at the Highlander in Newtonmore was fab from start to finish. Very pleasant at the reception when booking in, the room was very clean and tidy with a new bathroom suite fitted. Beds vey comfy. Dinner and breakfast were very good with an excellent choice of menu and the service was second to none. All the staff were very efficient and professional and a special mention for Johnny who looked after our table. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a base for travelling around the district.

All thou the hotel was going through a refit there were some minor problems that once told about they done there best to fix them.i found this hotel was lacling in the standards of which classic Britain normally have we were dissapointed in this. The food at the hotel was ok but not what we are used to with classic britain.in the dining room they used a sweet trolley at your table I found this a little old fashioned The hotel caters more for coach holidays

The bedroom was freshly decorated with new bathroom with high quality fittings, of a good size and with sensible wardrobe / shelving arrangement. The lay out of the hotel means you have to go out in the open to get to reception, dining, sitting is not for the faint hearted in low temperatures. We were on a budget deal and have no complaints except there was too much food of too low quality on the main course of the dinner. Breakfast was simple and acceptable. All the staff worked well especially the chap on reception

Had a very nice stay. Service and food were excellent. Very friendly helpful staff. Gave the bedrooms a ten as they were really nice for what we paid. Had everything required, clean,in good condition & working order. Would return again and recommend to others. Many thanks to all staff.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Staff worked very hard and were very pleasant. Food was good and the service was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and towels changed daily. Only criticism is that some entertainment would have been appreciated but we accept that we went out of season and maybe during the summer months there is entertainment this however did not affect our very enjoyable break.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Highlander Hotel and we had another very enjoyable stay. Plus point for us is being able to bring the dog with us. Bedrooms are spacious and clean, bathroom very nice, love the shower. Cynthia and her staff are excellent; so polite, friendly and very welcoming. Cannot praise them highly enough. Looking forward to another visit later in the year.

Enjoyed celebrating anniversary and birthday in this hotel. Staff were so friendly and efficient. Only criticism main function hall was kept too hot and this spoiled the entertainment as we had to leave as it was uncomfortable to sit long term no windows were opened

Mundane - Abysmal - 1970's Era furnishings and food best described as School Dinners. Potholes in the Car Park. Parking on both sides of the driveway makes it nigh impossible to see the signage. Friendly staff, it's not their fault that the place is a disgrace. The bathroom was possibly the worst that I have experienced. Filthy grouting on the lower tiles in the shower cubicle, some weird concoction of taps for hot/cold in the shower and a shower head that was 1970's. Plastic moulded vanity.
