Biased when it comes to Highlander Hotel Newtonmore, as we stay here at least twice/ year, usually out of season when best deals on offer, recently got a great deal on ClassicBritain,

Nice hotel, good location. friendly and efficient staff. Room a wee bit tired but public rooms well presented except bar where lighting seems to be a problem. Would like to have spent some time in the bar with a drink watching the Olympics, but ... no TV. TV in the room of course. Will return to The Highlander in the future for sure. Hopefully better weather.

Not impressed whatsoever. The "garden" area was appalling ... the "Patiio" was a run-down Gazebo which we had to physically drain the water from ourselves as it was about to come through the roof of the Gazebo. The tables were so dirty we had to put down a newspaper to place our glasses on. We were given into trouble for seating ourselves in the Dining Room (even though no-one came to offer us a seat). We were not offered a refreshment after asking staff if we could order a drink and being told the "Drinks Waiter" would be over shortly. We had to wait in a queue for Dinner on the first evening for 15 minutes outside in the foyer - AFTER being advised to be down "on time". Certainly will never, ever return to this hotel. I am a very placid person but this would certainly test the patient of a saint living in this hotel. Atmosphere at breakfast - nil; Atmosphere at night - panic as the staff appeared frazzled; Atmosphere all round - zero rated I'm afraid.

I must thank the staff for the welcome we had at the Highlander Hotel they were very helpfull and could not do enough for us. Since we were last at the hotel the rooms have been decorated and are very nice. When we went into the room it was that warm we had to turn down the heating. When we are in the area again we will be staying at the Highlander. Many thanks to all the staff.

We were very happy with all aspects of our stay at the Highlander Hotel. We have stayed at the hotel on several occasions and have never been disappointed.
