Thought we would get a lovely double room instead we got a room with a double and single bed in it the phone was not working in the room and we were over charged at the end even though I side when we arrived about the three nights the reason I mentioned the room is that the hotel was not that buisy o and the heating in the room was not working We just put it down to bad luck we could go back and everything could be great

This was our second stay here and. we would reiterate our view that it is outstanding in every way and are almost embarrassed to say that although staff as always the nicest of people striving to do their best for everyone were a little bit stretched on this occassion

We stayed on Sunday night for a surprise for my wife's birthday on the Monday. We were able to enjoy a couple of drinks outside on arrival on the banks of the river until it got too chilly. The dinner was excellent which we had in the restaurant with a lovely outlook over the river; breakfast was excellent too. We stayed on the special BB&D offer which was fantastic value for money.

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the hotel. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived. The evening meal was excellent, we both had three courses, all different and enjoyed everything we had. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, all were a credit to the hotel. We had a bargain with this package and can highly recommend anyone to stay there.

Had a wonderful stay at The George Hotel - maybe a little dated in some parts but the setting is beautiful and the food was amazing from starter through to dessert - would definitely stay again.

Stayed Sunday night dinner bed and breakfast offer one of the best value offers we have ever had Excellent room well heated immaculately prepared and very nicely decorated Food was delicious with big helpings of traditional British fayre good selection with first class service by attentive and friendly well mannered locally sourced staff It was so refreshing for my wife and I to get such an excellent rewarding package in every way we have taken many such breaks over the last 10 years or so and this was one of the best keep up the good work and thanks for making our stay so memorable

Rooms very dated,in urgent need of modernisation and a lick of paint new carpets etc, bed very uncomfortable the base was practically through to the floor, door to balcony screwed shut, hotel was very hot throughout with no means of turning heating down/off, however staff friendly enough food was ok

The hotel was good and the young staff manning the hotel were very helpful. There was a function held below our room that we were not made aware of, that finished around 0045hrs with loud music throughout. The food was great, but 2 x table floors in the breakfast room had not been cleaned from the previous day I believe. Apart from that, it was an enjoyable stay.

The hotel staff were very friendly the only thing that was a bit disappointing when we arrived we were asked if we wanted to book a table in restaurant for evening meal which we did but when we turned up for meal we were told the restaurant had been booked out fo a function

Upset by the lack of staff information we were asked when we booked in if we would like to book a table for evening meal and we said yes so we booked one for 7.30pm . come down for table and we were told that the room was booked so we had to eat in the bar.

OK three star hotel nice room food good great breakfast evening meal good only spoiled because we couldn't eat in restraunt as there was a function on and had to eat in the bar but for the deal we were on good value.
