Most enjoyable stay. Room excellent, staff helpful. Evening menu could perhaps be enlarged and breakfast a bit crowded and difficult to attract attention to get the items on the menu which weren’t on display but to be fair, the breakfast area was crowded and the staff were doing their best. Also, trekking to and fro to make tea/coffee, toast and collect cooked items was a bit of a hassle for people of my age ! However, I would recommend this hotel especially when it was at an affordable price.

Had a lovely overnight stay room updated from last year lovely design staff very friendly on arrival and allocated our room early which was a bonus,this is the second stay here the only thing disappointing was breakfast serving pineapple juice & cranberry juice they had ran out of orange which was unusual also heated containers where empty when I was choosing so I just thought that was all that was on offer no sausage,black pudding,potato scones after I got mine noticed other guests had these on there plate very disappointed in this would it put me off rebooking probably we don’t often have a cooked breakfast but expect it when away overnight

My wife, my two grandsons 10 and 12 years old and myself were very impressed with the Marriott Holyrood. Everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations. From our arrival at reception to check in. The staff were very helpful, especially Alan who was brilliant. He told us which were the best sites to go and see, the best times to go. He is a really nice person. He is a great asset to the hotel. The rooms were excellent, spotless and very comfortable.The restaurant and the food were fine, apart from two little niggles. The Marriotts in Liverpool and York have plate warmers in their restaurants , so food stays hotter for longer instead of being put on a cold plate. Also, we didn't see any haggis on the menu at dinner. After all we were in Bonnie Scotland. We were impressed with the pool, not too cold. We were however disappointed with the age restriction with the sauna. over 16's only. Same with the gym area. Our eldest grandson was not best pleased.

Great hotel lovely friendly staff ideal for restaurants and bars museum of Scotland not far from hotel either dynamic earth Royal Mile Holyrood palace .would recommend to friends.

By far the best hotel we have stayed in via myhotelbreak. We had a warm welcome and the hotel staff were very kind, considerate, helpful, friendly and still professional. I cannot praise them highly enough. We had all our meals in the restaurant because the food was good. The evening meals were cooked to perfection and flavoursome and beautifully presented. Breakfast was well organised with plenty of choices and always replenished prior to running out and was again cooked perfectly. We had one snack and it also was excellent. the room maid was also lovely, polite yet friendly and thorough. We are so glad we stayed here, such a lovely hotel with all the staff we encountered wonderful.

This was my 3rd time staying at this amazing hotel, the 1st since the rebrand and sad to say its lost its Scottish identity especially with it being next door to the Scottish Parliament. Hotel is always amazing, clean and facilities are great for use during the stay and an amazing breakfast to get up early for. Staff cannot be anymore helpful and look forward to my next visit.

Brilliant hotel. Staff are fantastic, helpful and attentive. This was our 4th stay at this hotel. It is now a Marriot hotel which has made it even better than before. Good position for majority of Edinburghs attractions. Nice choice at breakfast and sets you up for a day's sightseeing.

An absolutely wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, as the staff were extremely friendly and approachable. The concierge was helpful and so knowledgeable 10/10 across the board. I would love to thank them for making our first trip to Scotland so memorable!

We stayed here in October and enjoyed it so much we returned in February. The hotel has many positives, the main one being the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. The hotel is well placed just behind the Royal Mile, rooms are very comfortable and newly refurbished and there is a lovely pool and gym. We will certainly return in the future.

On entering the hotel the welcome at reception was great , the staff were friendly and helpful.The hotel lobby is very inviting lovely seating area .All the staff from the restaurant couldnt do enough for you,fod was really nice breakfast was amazing somethingfor everyone,staff always on hand to assist.Our party of six were impressed by how we were treated .

Welcoming and helpful staff, extra effort made for birthday, message and sweet treat left in room. Room ready on arrival even though we were early. Staff made every effort to talk and engage which is nice. All hotel spotlessly clean and well equipped, thanks for a fabulous break

We stayed here last week for 2 nights, our room was ready when we arrived and we were in one of the newly refurbished rooms - room was huge with a very large tv and a lovely bathroom with walk in shower. But there was a table with only one chair and no desk or dressing table! Dinner on first night was included and we had 2 tasty courses from set menu. Breakfast had good choice of food but unfortunately the food was only lukewarm but the scrambled eggs and salmon were delicious. Only one lift working. All staff members we met were friendly and helpful, the hotel is under refurbishment but we would be more than happy to stay again.

Hotel was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lighting in room could be brighter. It was quite dull. Temperature in the shower was luke warm even though temperature gage was up full.

Reception area and dining/ Breakfast area can’t fault as well as the food delicious but the area on the ground floor once you go through the door is in need of an update as is the rooms the long table one of the legs was falling off and cleaners had not cleaned the toilet enough this is a 4 star hotel but would not give it that! Also a bit of a trek to Princess street would not go back as plenty nicer hotels in Edinburgh

Another enjoyable break in this hotel, we stayed here last year and the upgrades have been worthwhile. Friendly helpful staff, lovely clean room, comfortable bed and warm. Dinner was nice but the portion could maybe gave been a bit larger- I know it is a set menu for the deal. Definitely will recommend to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh, and we'll be back
