Stayed 1 night with 73 year old mum and 14 year old daughter. Staff were very helpful and very accommodating. Couldn't help enough. Room was extremely spacious. We had a twin with a extra bed. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Did not use spa but looked fab. Highly recommended.

We were very much looking forward to our evening meal but were extremely disappointed. A set menu with no choice to order from the a la carte. The staff while helpful and pleasant weren't well trained. The bottle of white wine we ordered arrived luke warm and our main course was not as described on the menu. The chicken should have been served with potatoes but arrived with a mound of chips. When queried, the waiter said there had been a "run" on potatoes. If that was the case we must have been served frozen chips. Our meal in addition to the chips was a chicken breast, half a grilled tomato and a large mushroom. No veg, sauce or gravy. I would have expected better from a 4* hotel and have often had better from a 3*. On complaining at checkout we were given a £20 bill reduction.

Hotel was nice and staff were very friendly and efficient, especially the receptionist on arrival. However we were very disappointed to receive an email the afternoon before our stay to say the pool was closed for maintenance. We were advised that we could still use the other facilities however on going down the steam room was also closed and only the sauna open. We went for our evening meal and were informed the fryers were broken so we could not have chips and they could only offer us boiled potatoes, not ideal when one of our party had a burger! Ordered a Diet e only to be told the hotel had run out and were not receiving an order until the next day. We did enjoy our stay and the food was lovely however the reason we had booked was for the use of the leisure facilities which we did not get.

Staff were good, pool was too, room a bit dated, bed was comfy, treatments at spa were lovely, would stay again but maybe not b&b, breakfast was slow but tasty on the first 3 days, last day not great as it was buffet, was barely warm and greasy, not tasty, other small negative the shower screen hinge and rubber seal had black mould

Hotel in great location for many of Edinburgh's places of interest. Very helpful concierge when I called to book an overnight parking spot. The only receptionist very pleasant despite having to deal with numerous guests checking in at the same time. Lovely spacious twin bedded room. Two proper armchairs in which to relax, coffee table plus a further chair and large desk. Very clean and comfortable beds. Very friendly and attentive staff in restaurant. Three choices on 3-course menu for those on dinner, bed and breakfast basis - particularly nice starters and dessert. Lovely pool in basement - at 7am had it to myself for quite a while. Great value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Had a lovely overnight at this hotel. The room was well equipped and really big. Didn’t have the best view but hey ho. The evening meal was nice too but the wine was very pricey - £11 a glass. All in all our stay was great and was certainly worth the money. Thank you

me and my friend took our daughters here for a chillout break, from the moment you booked in evrything was first class the staff, the rooms are spotless well presented,the meal at night was in the bar restaurant tails and service amazing and food.have been here many times its alittle away from princess st but loads round this area cafe, bars shops

The staff were very Friendly and helpful and the service we received was beyond exceptional. We dined at the restaurant in the evening and had a beautiful meal followed by breakfast the next morning. Will most definitely return when next in Edinburgh.

Initial problems with the room but we were moved to another one immediately and staff could not have been more helpful with regard to this and indeed all the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. We were, however, very disappointed that the Swimming Pool was out of action as use of it was the main reason we chose this hotel!

A lovely hotel, great check in, front of house staff friendly, pool was lovely but changing rooms where messy with a huge pile of towels stacked at the door. The only thing that let it down was the service in the restaurant, we weren’t offered desert or coffee and we had to chase our drinks a number of times. Would 100% stay again but not including dinner.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was cold but had a small heater in it. Best night sleep ever with such a comfy bed. Bar was relaxed and very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. Did dinner bed and breakfast amazing value. Cant wait to go back and enjoy all the facilities

Great hotel with lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Set menu was good but we opted for main menu 3 of our nights and standard was very high, steak was excellent. Really liked having access to leisure facilities during our stay too. We loved our 4 night stay and would definitely return.

Great hotel, rooms are beautiful and well equipped. Pool was lovely and the food was very good. Restaurant was a bit busy with staff shortage, however, that didn't really affect us, our service was great. The hotel was very well situated with the tour bus stopping just across from the hotel which allowed us to hop on and of day. We would definitely book this again if it comes up in the future.

First class visit from start to finish. We arrived early but left our bags whilst we went shopping. Came back later and our rooms were ready and our luggage already delivered to them Brilliant comfy rooms and excellent service. Super friendly, helpful staff, each nicer than each other. Food was great and very well presented. Hotel is in a great location. Best hotel we have stayed in for a long time, coukd not fault it. We hope to go back soon.

Overnight stay at The Holyrood Hotel was excellent value for money. The hotel itself was very tastefully decorated, particularly the lounge and restaurant areas. Our evening meal was included in the deal and there was the option of choosing from a 3 course menu or have £25 each towards the cost if choosing from a la carte. We opted for the 3 course menu and the food selection was excellent. Breakfast was also very good. Our room was a classic double, which was very spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely make a return visit.

Beautiful hotel, friendly & welcoming staff, absolutely loved our stay in the double room with everything we needed. No parking at the hotel when we arrived however 24hr parking literally across the road and cheaper as advised by the ever so helpful staff :) breakfast was very nice with lots to choose from, facilities unfortunately this time we didn’t use but will definitely be back and will make use of everything next time.
