Spent 2 nights at the hotel. Very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful big building and lovely landscaped gardens. We booked as it was advertised as dog friendly which it was. Only place dogs can’t go is in the breakfast restaurant but you can sit in the opposite restaurant so not a problem. Room was spacious and nicely decorated, in keeping with the building and was very clean other than a couple of wee stains on the carpet. Bathroom was a bit dated but fully functional and spotlessly clean. Bar area again decorated in keeping with the age and style of the building. We ate in the hotel both nights and the food was lovely. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. All in all a pleasant stay and would definitely return.

Beautiful grand old hotel, felt like stepping back in time. We were very lucky and able to pay for an upgrade allowing us to stay in a sea view room. The bed was very comfortable and our views were amazing. The room was a bit tired, paintwork and wallpaper needed doing, but it didn’t spoil our stay. The bath was huge and felt like a treat as we no longer have one,my husband wasn’t impressed by shower, water temperature was a bit erratic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on a beautiful island, just a quick ferry away.

The hotel room fave us a great view over the bay but in general it was a little bit tired and in some cases threadbare. The staff and the meals were OK and we has a pleasant time there.

Probably a grand old hotel in its day but getting a bit faded. We were in a superior twin and fail to see what was superior about it. The bathroom was tiny if adequate but adequate isn’t what you pay superior rates for. What was really unacceptable was the king black hairs plastered to the wall of the shower and under the anti-slip mat. Even worse, not discovered until in the shower. Absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. Staff on the whole helpful and efficient but one took exception to me highlighting a French party of nonresidents who had waited twenty minutes after drinks were delivered and still hadn’t had their food order taken while two staff repeatedly ignored them. Not recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the Glenburn hotel. Staff were excellent and helpful. Hotel interior is lovely and is about a ten minute walk to centre of Rosthey. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and hot. We had dinner both nights we stayed and it was excellent

Enjoyed my recent stay in the Glenburn Hotel. Found everything to be at a decent level. Room 106 was comfortable with cracking views. Food in the restaurant was decent enough for the night we ate in the restaurant likewise the breakfast. Nice old fashioned hotel.

Loved this hotel. It was amazing. Staff weee fantastic and it was great to see so many young, local people working here. Big shout out to Thomas who was extremely pleasant and friendly. Only negative was the view from Room 118. Very small window with the kitchen generator being the only thing to look at - very noisy too.

Great location and lovely hotel Food options were good but, as a matter of personal taste, I wasn't too keen on the risotto served with the salmon. Otherwise 10/10 for a very enjoyable short break

Really liked this hotel, grand looking building in a great location. Check in was easy. Room was spotless with extremely comfortable bed. Only issue was wifi only worked if you sat by the room door. Sat outside for dinner, great views. Food was excellent but asked 2 different staff members for desert menu but neither returned. Ended up getting my own and had to approach a member of staff to place order. Same at breakfast, great food but not enough staff, who remained very pleasant despite been overworked. Overall good stay and Would return and recommend

Great location and fabulous views of the sun setting across the bay. The hotel itself was spotless, the outside and main corridor carpets could maybe do with updating but didn't detract from our stay. Super comfy beds and again spotless. Dinner was good and fast service. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff were also very efficient and friendly. Would stay again

Had a lovely overnite stay at The Glenburn Hotel in Rothesay. The architecture of the building was amazing. . Our room was fabulous with a great view, weather helped as we were able to take advantage of the outside terrace to watch the sunset. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially the woman on reception, unfortunately haven't got her name. She was extremely friendly and helpful with a great sense of humour , shes definitely an assett to the hotel t eam. Only downside was I didn't manage to get my icecream!! Will definitely be back, and know which room I'll be requesting.

Very easy check in. Our room was on the first floor. Clean and tidy. Would have liked some biscuits on the tea tray. We ate in the hotel the first night from the bar menu I think. Not a great selection but what we ordered was nice. Breakfast had a great selection to choose from. We went to Mount Stuart House on the recommendation of one of the waitresses. Overall I would go back.

Had a good weekend at the Glenburn, we upgraded to a Seaview room, which was very comfortable, lovely walk in shower, only complaint was bathroom had no shelf or shower caddy for toiletries. Breakfast was good, plenty of selection of cereals and hot food. Staf friendly and welcoming. Will come back

We stayed for 2 nights. Hotel could be doing with some general upgrading. Our bedroom was spotless. The bathroom was clean although dated, toilet seat didnt match the bath suite. We ate in the hotel on the Friday night and the food was lovely. We don't like the draught e or diet e and that was all that was available. Bottles or cans would have suited us better. Unfortunately because of this we went out in the evenings and didnt spend a lot of money in the hotel. We spoke to Reception when checking out and they did say that that was all that they were supplied with - I'm sure this is an issue with quite a few people. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice and nothing ever ran out, the staff were very attentive and we found everyone to be very friendly throughout the hotel.

We were given a £40 credit voucher to spend on our stay. We didn’t stay in the hotel much as we were visiting family but the bedroom was lovely and the bed was very sumptuous and comfortable. The amenities in the room were good also, tea, coffee, bathroom supplies etc. The only downside was that the bar closed super early and we were unable to use the voucher that we had. We did return on both evenings around 9-9.30pm . I asked the manager if I could maybe have a bottle of wine and he said he couldn’t do that and said that the voucher was supposed to be used on the first night………we weren’t informed of this at check in and I felt quite hard done by!

Very nice hotel. The decor was lovely and the wood panelling gave a feeling of grandeur. All furniture in the public areas and the bedrooms was good quality and solid. The food was excellent, well presented and tasty. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient.
