We were given a beautiful refurbished room on the 2nd floor. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were amazing! If we needed any further supplies for our room reception staff provided these. We booked dinner and this was the only let down. We were given a reservation for 8.30pm but we had to queue for half an hour before being taken into the restaurant then sat in a bar area for a further 30 minutes before being taken to a table. We ordered from the set menu, the food was lovely and worth the wait. I did feel for the staff as there was a definate tension felt as so many people were raising concerns and we later found out that management had closed half of the tables which impacted on customers not being seated and served timely. Breakfast was seamless, seated straight away and a great choice of self service hot and continental buffet. There was a private party in the hotel and we could hear the disco in our room 2 floors above until it stopped at 12.30am. Overall it was a relaxing break and we would return as it was good value for money.

Enjoyed our stay - good refurbished room but we did pay extra for a superior room. Good breakfasts - plenty of choice & as much as you liked! Staff hard working, pleasant even though very busy! Big downside was dinner menu - table d'hote was very limited choice- 3 starters, 3 mains & 3 desserts with hardly any change over our 3 nights. My husband had salmon 3 nights & I was struggling to find anything I liked. Each night was pork, salmon or pea & mint risotto. This meal cost £25 but if you chose a la carte you were only allowed £20 to spend. A la carte menu not great - mainly fish & chips, burgers & (expensive) steak so allowance would barely cover main course. When you stay in a 'posh' hotel you want a better choice & not 'fast food!' Only sparkling & still water were offered at dinner- you had to specifically ask for tap water. We've stayed at the Majestic Hotel many times since the 1980's & have had family celebrations there a few times. We preferred the older, more traditional menu with more choice & liked the more spacious dining room. It would be lovely to continue going to the Majestic but the dinner menu would deter us. We think that the £10 car parking charge is too much considering the limited spaces & that the car park is still a partial building site! We don't complain readily & love the Majestic but the limited, new dinner menu is a deterrent.

My friend and I stayed here for a night and we loved it, the room was gorgeous and really big, beds so comfy. The staff helpful friendly and very chatty. We had the dinner bed and breakfast deal and I have to say the food was amazing. Worth every penny, we will be back once the refurb is.complete in November.

What a fabulous hotel! Room was spacious with king-size bed and newly refurbished bathroom. Great shower! Restaurant was beautiful, evening meal was very nice but the breakfast choice was outstanding ? Would definitely revisit in the future.

We had a lovely stay in Harrogate . The hotel was fine. Central location. Easy walking distance to town. Public areas beautiful. Staff were great. Only criticisms were our room was next door to a room undergoing refurbishment so noisy workmen from 7 am. The corridor to our room was dirty with bits of rubble. Arrived at our room to find empty wine bottle outside the door. Room spacious and well furnished. Window sill was marked with ? Coffee stain. Long black hairs in the washbasin. Food in the restaurant of good quality but set menu repetitive for both nights

Should have checked in at 2room finally ready at 4.30. Booked disabled room on 1st floor no disabled room available ended up on 4th floor lovely room but certainly not good for disabled.Reception chaotic staff very arrogant especially tall gentleman on reception. Bar staff very slow with drinks order and didn't get orders correct. The hotel needs to sort lots of problems out before we would contemplate staying here again.

Have stayed at The Majestic for the last 10 or so years & have never been disappointed. This time, most of the hotel has finished being revamped & it looks lovely. The new restaurant is superb - we had the best dinner EVER there on our first evening. Some problems getting parked ( at a cost of £10 per night) because o the contractor’s vans, but that was a minor point compared to how much we enjoyed our overall stay. Hopefully when Doubletree take over management in a few weeks time, they will continue to be dog-friendly - this is very important to us.

When I booked I realised the Majestic had become part of the Hilton group having stayed at various Hilton hotels both in England and abroad I was expecting a pleasant stay with good service. Whilst the room itself was of a good standard and reception staff were helpful, the service in the bar and dining room was of a very poor quality. Our evening meal was booked for 6.45 it was a long wait before some one took our order we did not have a starter but it took forever for our meal to come, and the glass of wine we orded before our meal was nowhere to be seen. My wife had ordered a desert which did not come until I had spoken twice to staff. It took until 9.25 to finish the meal and there were people who came just after us still waiting to finish their receive their deserts. Breakfast was similar with a long line of people waiting to be shown to their table. Once seated, we went to the buffet, no eggs , no beans and no bread for toast. I asked one member of staff named Tina for some brown bread, only to be told it was not her responsibilty and she named another staff member whose job it was as if I would know who that stfaff member was. So I spoke to a young male member of staff and after 10 minutes some white bread arrived (they did not have any brown or wholemeal bread) only for me to realise there was no butter. In short the whole stay at the hotel was more like Faulty Towers than the Hilton. We complained to Sabrina the receptionist and she was well aware of the problems as other guests had also complained, but by then of course it was too late. It was to say the least a very dissapointing stay at the Hilton Majestic hotel.

10 out of 10 Booked the night away as an early anniversary treat for us also our daughter and husbands 1st anniversary. The hotel is fantastic - yes the hotel is still undergoing refurbishment. But what has been done is amazing. We had a three course evening meal with tail for our deal booked. Yes unfortunately there was some hickups with the main course but it was resolved very quickly. Breakfast was a delight!! We would not hesitate in going back to the hotel again. Beautiful place and very friendly staff

We had a great night at this Hotel. The Room, Evening Meal and Brvice was excellent. Breakfast was ‘tricky’ as we had not initially been added to the Breakfast List, but this got sorted in the end

Checked in customer service very good. Booked a superior room I know they are on refurbishing but not sure what was superior about it. There were rubbish on the floor coins left in drawer a hair bobble on floor hair in the bathroom from previous guests. 3 course meal was ok triple cooked chips were literally that (burnt) watery peppercorn sauce. Best bit was the breakfast loads of choice and excellent service but hopefully will be 4 star when complete

We stayed one night on the DBB deal, for our wedding anniversary. Very nice receptionist booked us in with a warm welcome, we were fortunate to get a room upgrade, absolutely lovely room. We had tails in the bar before our meal, good meal and very good breakfast, all staff were nice and friendly. Parking was £10 “just what I expect” although don’t like paying for a hotel I am staying in. Overall very good stay. This hotel is going through a major overall, so early morning was noisy, some very large marquees covering the whole of garden, which was a shame. People were complaining about noise, think sometimes it’s just WHINGE trying to get money back. WILL USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN !!!

The hotel is undergoing some building work and this meant the stairs were closed during the day. The rooms was excellent and the updated areas of the hotel look nice, staff were friendly and helpful, food was ok because it was included in the deal. Had I paid for what I got I wouldn’t have been totally satisfied. This hotel will be lovely when fully updated and having stayed here before the location is very good. The charge for parking the car is excessive.
