Absolutely fantastic break, we had a room away from the busy front of the hotel and traffic noise from the bridge, as we always sleep with the window open. Lovely spacious room, big comfortable bed, nice touch with the prosecco and chocolates. Nice bathroom too. Delicious cookie presented on arrival. We had dinner in the hotel that night which was fabulous, fresh and tasty, great system for social distancing and Naomi our waitress was to be commended. Breakfast was just as good. Highly recommend a stay here

First staycation since Covid - thought a Hilton would be good as never had any problems in past. Stay was for three nights Check in was ok - lots of things to remember but probably to be expected in the times we are in. Disappointed to hear that if I wanted my room cleaned I would need to request this the evening before ?? So no bins getting emptied, no clean towels. If you want more coffee/ tea go up to third floor and get these outside room 333 ?? I am paying for a service but feel it is very self service. On a plus room service did bring us ice. As hotel a bit out from town realised quickly needed to book a table every night for dinner, heard lots of people getting turned away at restaurant door. I do realise things different due to covid restrictions but honestly - one way system in restaurant not adhered to plus Saturday we arrived upstairs bar open, Sunday this bar was closed - we wanted to sit outside as lovely weather but no only five tables in the whole outside ??? Monday we wanted to sit in bar for a drink and look at fantastic view. Told no you can't sit at a window table these are for people having a meal. Taken to a table at back of restaurant and sat beside the kitchen and where the room service phone rang most of the time. On questioning this we were told these are the rules ?? We were made to feel like second class citizens. Never in my experience of staying at a Hilton hotel have I felt like this. We are used to five star Hilton in Dubai. Another annoyance was every time you went for a drink or meal you were told fill in the track and trace form - why every time???? we are resident in the hotel in my opinion it should have been enough to state my room number as hotel have my contact details. Breakfast was very nice but on first morning sat for 10 minutes before I eventually got staff member attention to ask for coffee / juice - not a good start. Surely this is their job to ask me. When breakfast came it was very nice. On last morning had to wait at door of restaurant no staff member around eventually I went over to young guy at bar cleaning glasses - he apologised stating there should have been someone there to meet us. Dinner was okay menu very limited - staff okay in general but snide remarks supposed to be humourous e.g I asked for mayo for onion rings my husband then asked for vinegar and ketchup - man said to me " see what you have started " I will also mention that this dinner was put in front of us and it was as quick as he could get away from the table - it was us having to do the asking. Room was okay - carpet was dirty / marked in places . Toilet wood on floor beside shower was marked and had water damage. Shower door was very unclean at seal. Toilet bowl very low with nothing to hold on to. Mirror light would not stay on. Bed was very comfy. Lighting poor on closer inspection found no bulb in standard lamp, no bulb in light handing from ceiling beside bed. Bulb out in ceiling light beside wardrobe. Surely these rooms should be inspected. We did not report these faults as we did not think anyone would be coming into our room. On day of leaving we told reception to be told you should have told us. My husband told them if you not cleaning the room hardly going to be changing bulbs. I had asked for a room with a view got a room on 2nd floor with a view of the side of the building beside reception entrance. Not really happy with the room but hotel was very busy so no chance of a different room. I do not feel my break with the Hilton was up to standard and would think twice before recommending or returning to this particular hotel. All in all very disappointed and spent a lot of money in the three days.

Super stay and great for breaking a journey from Glasgow to Fife and beyond. Staff excellent and very helpful. Hotel is well set-up for Covid and you feel safe. Bedrooms very comfortable as you would expect from a Hilton hotel. Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries are very welcome. The star of the show has to be the view. The hotel is in a perfect position for seeing the Forth Road and Rail bridges as well as the Queensferry Crossing. Stay was so good we have booked another night for the return journey!

Stayed on the b and b deal with prosecco and chocolates on arrival, althougable to upgrade room to a river view at time of booking i was able to do this directly with Hilton. Had a lovely light spacious room,,spotlessly clean and comfortable,we had a nice afternoon sitting outside within the hotel gardens as it was sunny and warm,we decided to have dinner in The Shore within the hotel, staff were welcoming and friendly and very efficient,we opted for soup, mussels and chicken shish kebab, the soup was flavourful, the portion of mussels was massive and my first ever taste of a shish kebab was delicious.Had a comfortable night's sleep, air conditioning helped as it was warm.Breakfast was a choice of continental all individually sealed laid out at the bar, toast was self service and all other breakfast items were table service, staff were friendly and attentive, explaining the new set up regarding breakfast service.Everything we had was delicious, fresh and piping hot.Our late checkout we had with our deal was appreciated as it meant we didn't need to rush off.Have stayed previously prior to covid and enjoyed my stay despite the procedures needed in place, felt safe and my space respected.Would happily return and would definately recommend.

Room was disappointing. Was at back of hotel and looked out onto overgrown grass. The bathroom had bath but you had to fill the bath from the shower and the show door was rather dirty. We have stayed in other Hilton hotels and they have been fab. The breakfast, bar staff and restaurant staff were all very friendly.

Really nice staff & lovely hotel especially Pauline in the restaurant. Only downside is no little pubs or areas to walk to other than the bridge.

stayed for one night for our delayed 25th wedding anniversary, had asked if anything special could be done to make it a bit more special but whether this wasn't conveyed to the hotel or not I don't know, certainly wasn't a room upgrade as we had a view of the car park!! Room was clean but didn't smell clean if that makes sense.reception staff couldn't have been more helpful (my husband locked us out the room twice!!). Food in the restaurant was lovely although available tail list was a bit lacking

We were greeted on arrival by a lovely 'Birthday Girl' receptionist & the warm cookie was a delightful treat. We decided to have something to eat in the restaurant & booked for an early dinner. On checking in to our room we found it to be a great size & had everything you could have needed for a nights stay. The offer of prosecco & chocolates - well that was very welcome. The view could have been slightly better, we did ask for a high floor & were on the 3rd floor with a restricted view of the beautiful bridges. The food for dinner was ok - I say that as it was nice enough but my opinion is it was well over priced for the goods. My friend had a steak & the meat versus value was quite under par, the steak was thin & lacked flavour not to mention quite fatty. The wine was an old favourite of mine so bonus points for that. The restaurant service was ok, but a special mention to Naomi & Robert who were that little bit more engaging & polite, however the others seemed moody & harassed & to be fair it was not that busy. We stayed for some drinks in the 'bar' - to note it is not a bar it's 2 seats in a corner. When I asked for Smirnoff vodka, I was simply told no we don't offer that - blunt & rudely, I don't expect you to cater for every drink request but come on!! When we asked for some room service, it felt like it was quite inconvenient to the fella, everything seemed too much an ask/bother. When I asked about the crisps available it was very, yeah that's it, hardly glowing engagement or catering for all. It seems the price of the food may be compensating the loss of the past year - it is NOT worth the money we spent!! The room itself was gorgeous & whilst it was covid clean, it was NOT bedroom clean, dirty sheets, cobwebs & eyelashes & broken picks from the wall on the bathroom floor did not paint the best picture of the hotel. The fridge in our room was positively stinking, clearly not cleared out 'in time' for the next arrivals. Another unfortunate point to note is it was way too hot even at the coolest of temperatures and sorry but my sleep was crap. The breakfast was fabulous & the morning staff a breath of fresh air. On departure we were not asked about our stay & to be honest it was not the busy forum to be holding back a check out queue with our feedback. In short I doubt I would visit again, to anyone considering CHECK the room cleanliness (pictures of mine are available on the request). For a Hilton hotel, I expected much more.

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here since it opened back up from lockdown and it didn’t disappoint once again. Great service and a beautiful room! The only thing I would improve on is the menu selection, I felt having 4/5 mains to choose from wasn’t that great compared to other Doubletree Hilton’s we’ve stayed at but the quality of the food was fantastic!

Lovely hotel, nice clean room, good views, staff polite, all were wearing face masks and social distancing was In force. My only grievance would be getting into the bar, we went for a drink late afternoon, waited at door to be seated as requested but no space, however we were given a seat in restaurant, fair enough. We booked a table for dinner later, had a lovely meal then we went to bar for a coffee this time we got a seat. After coffee we went for a walk, when we came back we tried to get into the bar, this time we were asked for our room number, the couple in front gave there’s (6??) & were shown to a table, we gave ours (3??) & was told sorry no space, I thought this was a bit odd, if there’s no space why ask for a room no. first, they hadn’t done it before, which made me wonder if there was some sort of pecking order. I hope I’m wrong as it should be first come first serve plus there’s no where else to go on the north side. I’m afraid it would put me of going back.

Hello Linda, Thank you for the feedback, I am glad to hear that overall you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry top hear that you were disappointed with the restaurant / bar service, I have passed this onto the team to look into. I can assure you there is no pecking order in place although I understand how this may have looked. We ask for room numbers to ensure we have the correct information to charge to rooms, maybe this needs to be explained better to avoid customers feeling like that. In regards to space, with the new guidelines in place we have to be careful with capacity, this is all new to us and we are all learning along the way, however this could have been explained to you. We appreciate your feedback and will take forward to the restaurant team. Hopefully you can give us another chance Reservations Team.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely and everyone made us feel safe during our stay. We especially want to thank Josh who is part of the restaurant team who made my husbands 50th birthday memorable for him. He came out the kitchen with our blow up walking frame and walking stick and went out of his way to get us a table with a wonderful view of the bridge and also brought my husband out his birthday cake. He even left us a wee note in the cake box thanking us for making his night a great laugh, which was lovely. He is a valued member of staff.
