My husband and I stayed at the Ballachulish hotel on the 9th and 10th of August. This is the second time we have stayed here. This time was great,we had booked a loch view room.We had a lovely room the service was first class and the food was very good and tasty. We went with a different company last time and the room was awful so I would recommend booking a loch view room.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location and enjoys stunning views across Loch Linnhe, it also has great character. The evening meal we had was lovely and the breakfast provided was also of a good standard, our room was clean and well presented and all staff were helpful. I'd happily recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting the area.

The hotel was set in a very nice location and easy to follow. Staff where very helpful and accomaditing for our toddler at meal times. The room overlooked the loch and hills which was fantastic. The bed was confortable and the room of generous size for the three of us. The stairs to the room where not stepp and where easy managed. Lots of things to do nearby the hotel with lots of information in hotel lobbby. Lesiure facilities in the sister hotel where free and where fantastic to use.

Beautiful setting but needs updating, threadbare carpets on stairs. bathroom and linen clean. Self service breakfast could have been hotter.

Value for money as a result of the offer we made use of when booking. Beautiful tranquil setting on the banks of Loch Leven. Historic hotel which could do with some investment to refreshen the decoration and the creaky staircase etc. We enjoyed making use of the leisure facilities at the nearby hotel which were included and had the run of the pool & sauna etc to ourselves which added to the experience. The food provided was also of a good standard which we also enjoyed. Next time i'll take my golf clubs and make use of the complimentary free round of golf at the Dragon's Tooth 9 hole course which was also included in our one night stay package. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the the quality experience this historic hotel provided. Would have loved to have made more use of the large bright lounge and garden to sit and read a book if we had stayed longer than one night. Would definitely recommend and may be back.

this is my 3rd stay at Ballachulish Hotel.Always enjoy my stay, only problem is that the menu for dinner is the same for both nights.Found this more problematic because I am vegetarian.Would like to get a room overlooking the loch next visit if possible.

Hotel was comfortable and welcoming. A good base for exploring surrounding areas. Good for guests with dogs with several walks next to the hotel. Although bedroom was fairly clean there were areas in the room that obviously had not been cleaned in a long time judging by the thick dust on them. Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice but dinner very poor. Food very bland and unappetising. I would stay in hotel again but would definately be giving dinner a miss.

Our room - 102 (in the old part of the Hotel) was lovely, and had a fantastic view of the loch. We had a jacuzzi bath which was brilliant! Although this was late February the weather was fantastict and the scenery was superb. Being able to use the leisure facilities at the sister Hotel, the Isles of Glencoe, was good. Would recommend this Hotel.

Enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is looking a bit shabby in places but has good character and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed the food and thought it was very good value.

It is 9 and a half years since we last stayed at the Ballachuillish Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was as good as we had remembered. We had a superior room overlooking Loch Linnhe on two aspects, which we had paid a supplement for. The bed was clean and extremely comfortable and the room was spacious and had alot of character, being in the old part of the hotel. Unfortunately the room and bathroom were not particularly clean, and in particular the bath. Having run a bath and gotten into it, I turned on the jacuzzi, firstly to be hit by the pungent smell of stagnant water which was followed by lots of black gunge and dirt appearing in the bath. It was truly disgusting. I immediately got out of the bath. That evening I mentioned this to staff (Laird) at reception, who was very apologetic and said he would raise it with management. The following afternoon I enquired at reception about what was to happen. I was advised the bath had been thoroughly cleaned the previous week, that it had again been cleaned that morning and that these bath were difficult to keep clean!!! I also mentioned that there was a dirty sock from a previous guest lying on the floor next to the wardrobe. We had only noticed it that morning when we drew back the curtains. On departure, when checking we had everything, we found a further item under the chest of drawers which was not ours. Parts of the carpet, parts of pieces of furniture and some skirtings were thick with dust. The whole room and bathroom needed a good clean. When paying the bill, the dirty sock and filthy bath were only mentioned when raised by us, not by staff. Whilst we paid the full amount for the room, we were less than happy with the accommmodation. I don't want to put these comments on a public website at the moment, but I would like you to pass them onto the Ballachulish Hotel and would like a response from them. On relfection we shouldn't have paid the supplement.

Enjoyed our stay in this comfortable hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our evening meal was excellent and great value for money. Only complaint would be the mattresses need replacing as we could feel the springs, managers you need to check them out!

The room was disappointing. We appreciated the loch view but were disappointed that we struggled to see as the window was steamy. The bed was very uncomfortable and had a very firm matress and was squeaky. The toilet smelled of sewage.
