Travelled with another two couples and i have to say that all the staff and food were excellent as was the facilities only letdown for us was the rooms all of which were in the main building or should i say our room (222)must be the smallest miss shapen room in the hotel between the en-suite taking up a third of the original room and the coombed ceilings and the furniture made the room feel overcrouded, best room provided was 202 which was obviously a free upgrade, third room provided for our party was 220 top floor main building resonably sized, at the time of booking i had requested 3 rooms on the same floor with one near the lift, it would appear that this was not passed on to the hotel whose staff could not appologise enough that our request could not be accomodated, however the room issue aside i would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

This is our third stay at Balgeddie House. Staff made us most welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. Pre set temp on shower was a less warm than comfortable and selection at buffet breakfast of fruits could have been better though cooked breakfast choices better.

Excellent stay at the Balgeddie House Hotel, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel and leisure facilities were great and everything was very clean. Our compliments go to the chef as the meals were 1st class. A great base if like us you wish to visit St Andrews, Crail, Pittenweem etc

thoroughly enjoyed three nights at balgeddie house hotel.room looked brand new with matching furniture and flat screen tv which actually showed all freevieiw channels.no stains on walls or carpets and sealant round bath shiny white.free wifi throughout as well as access to gym and pool.all staff were very friendly and helpful and food was excellent with very generous portions.only problem was using postcode in satnav which led us to a destination about a mile from the hotel.this was highlighted in the guest information folder in our room which recommended using the postal address.would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Duty Manager was excellent when in a difficult situation and handled things extremely diplomatically. Very impressed by him.

The hotel was lovely. I had booked a few days to spend some time with my partner who is a soldier on leave from Afghanistan for a few weeks. On arrival at the hotel we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite! The room was stunning and spacious. The leisure facilities, both gym and pool were great and had nice atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was fabulous, breakfast and dinner. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel in future. Thanks !!

All staff encountered were excellent - reception, bar and especially waitresses. Unfortunately I had booked on behalf of two couples and we were to be allocated a garden room (which I would have liked to try) however, the other couple were allocated a room in the new part of the main house - the receptionist did her best and got us both into the main house (unfortunately not the garden rooms). The pool and changing rooms were excellent. Cleaner/house keeping excellent in speed of room tidying and replenishment of room refreshments. Bar staff (James) and others were efficient and unusually - supplying some ice for use in the bedroom was no problem Waitresses were absolutely excellent and they, in the most made our stay extremely pleasant. The only minor criticisms were - the heating seemed to be a bit temperemental in our room - and the hotel isn't the easiest found ( a bit of a detailed map - if required - might have been useful after booking. My wife and I frequently have weekend breaks - and none have surpassed the Balgeddie for pleasant atmosphere and value. Many thanks for a lovely stay. Mary and Steven Scott

I wanted to take the time to say what a wonderful break we had. Due to a family difficulty last year was very hard. I emailed the hotel to request a nice table for dinner on my partner's birthday. Not only was this provided but we were upgrqanded to the honeymoon suite. Thanks again to the wonderful staff at the Balgeddie.

Good well kept hotel, good leisure facilities with large warm pool, enjoyed the food and staff were very pleasant. Only gripe, we booked a deluxe room expecting a view over the lawn and countryside instead got a room at the back with no view but for the same price. No other deluxe rooms available so there was no option. Worth checking in advance if you were expecting the same. Other than that you'll have no complaints.

Very dissapointed after reading good reviews. My mum and dads room had no heating and when they arrived the window was wide open and room freezing cold, my mum is disabled and my dad elderly so they feel the cold more, despite repeatedly telling them heating wasnt working through phone calls and visits to reception and asking for portable heaters this wasnt sorted until 6 hours later when eventually a fan heater was left in the room, not really acceptable and not a good start. We had booked the restaraunt for dinner at 2pm for 6pm, no table was set staff were dragging tables and cutlery while we waited, a basic of fish and chips not available but not told this before 4 had ordered this, plain burger for my son came as a cheesburger, sent back asked again for what we had requested, burger came back totally black which he couldnt eat. When leaving asking if we were residents!(we had booked a table and were the only party of 6) didnt seem to grasp the basics of a restaraunt it was a shambles. At breakfast we stood at the entrance to be shown to our seats (I could see that no tables of 6 had been set) we stood for 5 minutes clearly in view of 2 members of staff and clearly being ignored. I had to go up and ask for them to set us a table, we asked for 2 porridges waited for 10 minutes were we got only 1, asking for butter which everyone else had at the table this was thrown down by the disgruntled girl, all in all not a nice experience. We had booked for 3 nights but left after 1, made to feel like an inconveniece rather than welcomed. The only positive were the reception staff and the young waiter at the bar when we checked in.

Very sad to hear that you had a dissapointing stay with us at Balgeddie, i can only sincerely apologise for the problem with the heating, which took longer to fix than expected. Upon checkout i passed on your comments to the restaurant regards the service which you received, we pride ourselves on good customer service, and unfortunately you have advised that on this occasion this was not the case. You have also mentioned you were not happy with the food quality and also fish not being available, again please accept our apologies. Thank you for your comments .

Fantastic stay in this family run hotel. Large portions of enjoyable food, wide choice on offer! Everyone pleasant and kind and went that extra mile to make our stay extremely pleasant. Our room was stunning as we were in a deluxe room, very comfortable bed, only thing was at times it was a wee bit chilly, perhaps a heating problem?

Our bedroom was lovely. The bathroom too. The staff were friendly and helpful. We felt the fod and restaurant let it down. While we were having our evening meal, the staff were setting up for breakfast, it was just after 8pm and they clattered the cutlery around and were generally noisy. This was very distracting and we felt we had to hurry our dinner. Staff also sprayed detergent on tables near us while we wee eating. Also the restaurant food was really just pub grub.
