Daffodil Hotel & Spa, Grasmere

Beautiful hotel in an amazing setting with grounds on the lakeshore. Staff were all lovely, great service, reception, bar waiting etc. The room had a fabulous view of the lake and Loughrigg fell. Very tastefully furnished and gorgeous modern bathroom with separate shower and all immaculate. The food was delicious. There was a dinner and an afternoon tea included in the package as well as a voucher for fizz or tail so it was very good value. A special mention fot the afternoon tea, it was the best we have ever had. A plate of savouries including a mini burger, sandwiches and a cheese scone filled with cream cheese and caramelised onion. There were plain and fruit scones with jam and cream and a whole host of cakes, all light and tasty. All topped off with Blackberry panacotta. Yummy!

We have stayed here a few times pre COVID, still some familiar faces from then, the whole stay from afternoon tea on Friday, Spa and treatments on Saturday and dinner in the restaurant Saturday night was amazing, we totally chilled out, all the staff are excellent and very attentive, we had our favourite room 206, views to the lake and valley are superb, hope to be back soon, thank you

We have stayed at the Daffodil Hotel several times now and have never been disappointed. The hotel is in a beautiful setting, located on the edge of Grasmere and its lake. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food is amazing and the service received by the staff is always of a high standard. We enjoyed the Spa and would recommend the mud rasul.

Lovely Hotel with good food and service. The car parking spaces are a bit narrow. One of my doors was slightly damaged due to a large vehicle squeezed into the space next to me hitting my vehicle when opening his door.

Phenomenal hotel, food is just perfection. The staff are very courteous and took my food allergy very seriously, you'd think most restaurants would.. But they don't ! The lake view room is well worth the extra money and the views are spectacular. Great beds , bedding and pillows ! Yes this place is out of the way, in comparison to Bowness.. But for peace and a good rest, it's ideal. Plus Grasmere is about 10 mins walk away.

Hotel in a good location. Rooms well appointed but would be improved with a quick paint. The beds were huge and very comfortable. The spa facilities were very good, I really enjoyed my two treatments. Food in the restaurant was lovely, only downside was that we were charged full price even though we had paid for DBB with an allowance for food, we were advised reception often forget to let the restaurant staff know about those booked on such a deal and we would have to pay on check out.

we had a most enjoyable stay,staff were very helpful,the building is fantastic,the location is out of this world,we stayed in junior suite which was outstanding,with amazing views onto lake and mountains.The only slight complaint is the menu doesn,t change on daily basis,but quality of food was excellent.we would love to stay in this hotel again

Lovely hotel, very minimalist and clean. The breakfast was excellent with efficient and helpful service. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel however it is rather pricy especially if you pay full room rate. As a late deal we were expecting a courtyard view however we were given a room with a very pleasant view towards Dove cottage and the hills.

The hotel is perfect for a long week-end, the staff was attentive, we enjoyed our stay. The dinners were good, the cold buffet selection with the breakfast could be bigger, but even if it would not be we'd happily go back.

Excellent hotel-staff very friendly and helpful-well equipped spa/pool-room modern and clean-good food with good choice menu. Only criticism was the main bar area near main reception only opens for functions - a small bar and seating area is available off the restaurant but it would have been nice to spend some time in the main bar area-the hotel could be missing out on custom in this respect.

Large bedroom overlooking lake with excellent sized bathroom. Stayed for two nights and only criticism could be that dinner menu would appear to be the same each night. That said, the food was excellent. and the breakfast choice first class.

Our second visit here. Hotel was again very good. A complimentary upgrade to a valley view room ,as we had arrived early, was appreciated. We will always have this hotel on our list of short break destinations.
