A lovely hotel to stay in with friendly and efficient staff. Bedroom was lovely only spoiled by outlook onto bins and outbuilding, which was a bit disappointing otherwise a pleasant stay

everything was excellent--- food, rooma, staff etc. The only downside was that we thought the lighting in both the bedroom & bathroom was very poor, & in bathroom, the mirror light kept going off.Overall, we would visit again, when there was an offer on.

We enjoyed our stay at the Daffodil Hotel, the only things that we could fault, the heating system in the room we stayed in 205 seemed to have a mind of it's own, when we turned the system off when it came on in the middle of the night it switched it's self back on again, which kept us awake on our second night from the fan blowing hot air into the room, also on our last morning, we had arranged with reception for a late check out of 12noon, but we were first woken up early by constant banging of room doors being closed. not very relaxing!!!!!!!it does not take much to adjust the room closeures on which would stop this. Overall the Daffodil is a very nice hotel with stunning views, and we did enjoy our visit there for that, food and room with excellent, Resturant Manager & Chefs so have a special mention as the service the resturant manager gave us and the food was amazing in every way, The only thing that would stop us from returning would be those room doors banging,

A beautiful hotel in pristine condition as it is only opened a few months. Very comfortable in all respects, with a most attentive and happy staff. The artwork on the walls is worth looking at and very amusing. The hotel fully deserves its score with Classic Britain clients who have reviewed it.

Just enjoyed a most relaxing weekend break in the Daffodil Hotel, Grasmere. It was one of the best hotel experiences we have had in the UK. All staff from reception, housekeeping to dining room were friendly and most helpful. Reception staff made space for us in a fully booked dining room; housekeeping staff looked up, smiled and gave a cheery hello when they saw us and staff in dining room provided additional information about the menu and food sources. There is a culture of using local produce which is to be applauded: Pure Lakes shampoo, soap or body lotion (in spa changing rooms); local meat and yoghurt and the especially tasty artisan bread from More?, Staveley. Rooms were immaculately clean and well maintained; bed was huge and very comfortable. We were on a 3 nights for the price of two break and felt that this was good value for money. We left with a sense that this was an exceptionally well managed hotel with a strong leader at the helm and with a culture of quality service. We have already started recommending this to friends and family.

Enjoyed a two night dinner bed and breakfast. Had a wonderful time and couldn't fault the surroundings and helpful staff - we have already booked another break at the Dafodil. Unable to book a treatment in the spa as both days fully booked so will book ahead next time! Great value deal.

We had an excellent short break at the Daffodil hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Perhaps the view from our room was not the most scenic (over some vent fans to the hills) however this should not detract from the facilities and cleanliness in the room. We also found all the staff very helpful, friendly and with a smile on their faces. The choice of food for breakfast was as good as I have seen anywhere, and piping hot if taking a cooked breakfast, whilst the evening meals were excellent and served by attentive and courteous staff. I would consider this short break at the Daffodil to be as good value as anyone could wish for. Excellent service, excellent facilities, excellent food, excellent staff, excellent hotel.

We found the hotel excellent in all respects and can warmly recommend it. Not giving a mark of 10 for bedrooms, service and food merely indicates minor niggles not worth a mention and which did not detract from our enjoyment of the beautiful hotel, its facilities and setting, and our appreciation of the service provided by the pleasant and helpful staff. Thank you.

A most enjoyable experience. Room spacious and comfortable. Staff polite and friendly, exemplary. Food of good quality well prepared if rather unimaginative. Menu could vary more or include daily specials. Enjoyed relaxing in spa area.

Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Only fault was our room was above the air conditioning units which were outside our window and a bit noisy. Otherwise a great stay. Food excellent.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Daffodil Hotel. Rooms and decor lovely and I loved the "bubbling" pool although not so good if you just wanted to swim. The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. My only slight criticism would be that the rooms weren't hugely warm ( it was freezing outside) and the sitting room would have benefitted from a roaring log fire. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially the fabulous deal I had
