Overall my wife and i enjoyed our stay at the Hallmark Hotel,the food and service we could not fault.The only criticsm would be the bedroom at night was uncomfortably hot due to heating being on.

We arrived for our very first weekend with the children for a quiet romantic weekend. However that night there was a Party on in the Hotel that went onto after 1 in the morning .followed by some drunk setting off the fire alarm at 1.15 am. As our room was right opposite the function room the noise was unbearable and we could hear every word of every song.When I politely complained at booking out time I was told " well it is a city centre hotel so things like this will happen " Not quite the response I expected .

This hotel is in serious need of decorating. Our stay was marred by an ambulance and police car being outside with flashing lights for at least a couple of hours on our second night. Unless you are willing to take the chance of this and the fact there was also some sort of club in the vicinity do not go there if you wish a night's sleep. The restaurant staff were very pleasant but on the first night forgot our meal because of a party in the main room and our 7.00pm booking did not get our food until 9.00! They did apologise and give us a round of drinks but the evening was spoilt. When checking out there was an extra charge on our bill for food we did not have and although it was taken off I felt they did not believe me and left the hotel feeling very uncomfortable. Lastly the photo of the outside of the hotel is completely inaccurate and I am not sure if I will use your site again.

Excellent overnight break at the Hallmark Hotel. Large room with flatscreen TV, comfortable bed, delicious chocolates and nice bottle of wine. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Great value

My husband and I enjoyed a 1 night stay here on 6/3/14. Comfortable bedrooms with en suite facilities. Tasty breakfast and friendly staff made it an enjoyable stay. Great location. We will use this hotel again.

parking was fine once we asked at the front desk but can be a bit limited and not easy to access.The bathroom could have done with a refurb.The staff and and food and location more than made up for it.we would defo return

This was our third Hallmark hotel break, and I would rate it third. Quite noisy, and the food in the estuarant was not as good as the the other two that we stayed at.

Worst hotel ever kept awake till four in the morning by drunk arseholes who shouldnt be allowed our themselves and the council should be ashamed of themselves not a good advert for tourism wont be back.

The hotel public areas are well kept and the staff are plesant & friendly. There was evidence of a leak in the ceiling area of our room which was painted over during our stay after we reported it. Only source of heating in the large bathroom was a towel rail so it always felt cold and the shower needs attention. We were on the 3rd floor and the lift did not always work. Not quite the relaxing break we envisaged! Positive notes the bed was comfortable and the breakfast good.

Fourth time we have stayed at this reasonably priced comfortable city centre hotel and have enjoyed every visit, and observed steady improvements to the hotel decor etc. over the years.
