The hotel was clean, warm with very helpful staff. The food was extremely good too. A bit of ‘drama’ with the fire alarm going off after the chef took fajitas out of the oven. It set the smoke detectors off and fire alarm to go off for about five minutes. There was a bit of confusion as to whether we should have evacuated the building or not while the fire alarm was still going.

Stayed here on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal and really enjoyed our stay! There were both up and downs to our stay though. Check in was quick and easy and the downstairs area was lovely! The food at dinner was amazing ? hats off to the chef we both really enjoyed our meal!! We stayed for my cousins birthday and she had forgotten her ID but they have a range of mocktails the boys at the bar were happy to make which was great! Only down sides that we had were the telly I'm our room had little to no signal so would only stay on for 30seconds then cut off, also the kettle was broken and we had to hold the lever down until the kettle fully boiled as I would cut off if you let go. Finally the room had no phone which we thought was strange for health and safety reasons, in case of fire etc. That all being said we had a lovely stay, still enjoyed ourselves and would come back!!

This is the first time I've been disappointed with a my hotel booking hotel, mainly with the service with our dinner on the first night in particular. With a catalogue of failures it took from 7.00pm till 9.00 to get served our meal and we left the restaurant at 9.00pm with our main course dirty plates in front of us as no staff came over to clear our table or ask if we would like a sweet and we were not prepaired to sit any longer. The only plus point was when we went into the bar after words the barman asked if we enjoyed our meal i told him some of the problems we had and he gave us our round of drinks for the four of us complemary to help make up for the bad service we received. Stayed here for the 3rd time in 4 weeks amazing service and amazing food got a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite this time and it was gorgeous we love it now off to the riverside next week

We stayed on the DBB deal with a bottle of wine on arrival and we had a great stay, the rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable a big plus. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff friendly and helpful, we will certainly return and would recommend this hotel, great deal.

Good morning, My partner and I booked a Diner b&b with wine on Friday 20 January through Myhotelbreaks.com Checked in about 15.45.We asked could we have our wine in the bar, rather than the room, which we were told should be ok. The lady in the reception said, just to let her know, and she would sort this at the bar when we came down. On returning to the reception, I mentioned that the room was very noisey with traffic, as we had been given room 17 and right next to the motorway. The answer I got was.(Is it, never been up there, should maybe look sometime). The receptionist sorted the wine, but told the staff, guests were not allowed to have the wine with their dinner, to which the bar staff replied they have been letting the guest have the wine at dinner, as they were unaware this was not allowed. When visiting the Gents I found the bin to be overflowing with paper towels and still the same 2 hours later. We went for our meal at 19.30. I ordered the Haggis, which got returned as it had a bad smell, when I cut into it. I asked the waitress to ask the chef to check it. On returning to our table. We were told they didn't know what was wrong with it, as they got prepared the day before ? Was offered another one or something else from the starter. But as my partner had already finished, her starter refused, as didn't want to prolong our main course, which was Steak pie, which was very nice. We were offered a drink as I didn't want a starter, which I accepted. On returning to our room, we found that the noise from the road was still very loud. In the morning we found the shower wasn't working, reported this to the same Lady on reception, which said. Don't know what we can do, as there is no maintenance on the weekends, then she said, maybe there was an empty room we could use. I said another room would have been nice last night, as I'd mentioned about the road noise. The answer I got was, well the address does say M77, which was far from being helpful. We said we would leave her with this as we were going for our breakfast. Breakfast was ok, but not very hot, There was only 1 mature Lady serving all the tables. The lady was doing a good job, but ran off her feet. We returned to the reception to find nothing had been done, and only when we returned did the receptionist start to speak to another woman about our problem. We decided that we would skip the showers, as we had to head to the hospital to visit my partner's Mum. I listed all the things we felt we had been let down by the hotel, which also included the bathroom floor didn't look finished and had 3 pieces of wood sticking out from under the bath panel. The receptionist wrote this down and said she would pass it onto the manager. I've added some pictures and await your reply to my email. 11 days on and I'm still waiting on a reply from the management, Total waste of money, one of our worst experiences of staying in a hotel.

Following my review of the Riverside Lodge, we had a stay at sister hotel; The Fenwick. £79 DBB & a bottle of wine. Positives: Friendly Staff, Food Amazing, tails lovely, in general good value for £79. Negatives: We paid £25 for an upgrade to a suite (the first room wasn't nice) The rooms are in much need of renovation & a clean! We were placed near the Staff Rooms & noise levels of shouting and people walking by till 4am. The wine given was full of wine crystals - although not harmful, not pleasant. Overall, we were disappointed ?

We had lovely stay at the Fenwick Hotel. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We had a delicious dinner and very tasty breakfast. We were surprised how quiet our room was considering hotel is next to busy road. Could not fault our stay and look forward to returning very soon.
