Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and 80s tribute night at Tinto Hotel. Music was great and dinner food was delicious and plenty of choice for breakfast. We went as a group of 30 and everyone had a great time would definitely return to this hotel. Staff very friendly also.

From the outside the hotel looks very good, nice grounds, nice public interior with impressive staircase & stained glass window. Staff were very good & helpful. However even though the building has had a good amount of refurbishment the one thing it has not got anywhere that I could find is A/C or even fans and the interior of the hotel was unbearably hot especially in the function suite where the C/W singer was performing, staff opened all the emergency exits which helped slightly. Chairs in the function suite were typical 'Wedding Reception chairs', look good but not very comfortable, whereas the seating in the dining/breakfast room were very comfortable and the selection of food for breakfast was also very good for what they were charging, but glasses & cups would be better stacked at the coffee/ fruit juice 'Station' rather than on the table which meant a walk of some distance back and forward which is difficult if the walk with any walking aid. The food even though it had to be pre ordered for the dinner was both badly cooked and presented. Haggis Bonbons the potato was stone cold, Pepper & Mozzarella tart, case had the texture of a 'Scots Pie' and shot across the table if you tried to cut it & mozzarella was so over cooked it was like chewing an eraser. Steak & sausage pie was a small amount to stew & bits of sausage and a huge piece of puff pastry, large portion of potato and a few bits of overcooked green vegetable which we could not determine what it was. Sticky toffee pudding was quite good, but Cheese cake had a strange 'grainy texture' and the 'Cheese board' ody got the same selection of cheese!. I think they were short of staff (who were working very hard in terrible heat) and food was left lying on the pass for to long and none of the dishes were very pleasant to eat and judging by the amount being left on the plates IMO everybody was of the same opinion. Staff were extremely hard working and did there best to be helpful, but quality of food at dinner and lack of any form of A/C in what is a very nice function room I would not return.

I booked for 6 sisters for country & western night which was a great deal for us Rooms were lovely and suited us all The meal was fine, a bit fancy, would have been nice if there was maybe chicken on the menu or something plain , simple ? The singer was very good but not really a Country & Western night but we had a good night anyway Look forward to any other tribute nights that may come up

Wonderful break in every way! The staff in this hotel are the friendliest people abd can't do enough to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Very comfortable bedrooms and newly refurbished shower rooms. Food was excellent quality too and to top it all the sun shone for us!! Highly recommend a visit to Tinto Hotel.

When checked in we couldn’t get a drink till 5pm although it says bar open from 12 till 10pm . Service for dinner was terrible after 1 hour we still only had a starter, Buss tour in and not enough staff on. When we got food it was really good , The receptionist that checked us in was very nice and also the main barman who also served at the tables.

Six of us stayed for a friends birthday - it was a surprise and the staff were great, helping keep the secret. We had lunch from the small bites menu, all was lovely and very fresh. We also had dinner as part of the tribute night, food great and singer amazing. Breakfast next morning was also good. Staff are a great asset to the hotel, super friendly and helpful - would not hesitate to return

We had a one night stay at the Tinto hotel which included Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. The hotel was comfortable and the dinner and breakfast were both lovely, very tasty and no complaints there. Jade that served us on the Sunday evening was very friendly and chatty and made us feel really welcome. After a few drinks at the bar we decided on an early night and this is where my issue begins. As we were on the ground floor, I’m assuming as we had a dog, we heard the night porter pass the room every 5 minutes or so, and as it’s an old building the floorboards were quite noisy. At midnight my partner opened our room door to ask the night porter what the noise was. He explained he was moving some chairs and wouldn’t be much longer. At 12.45am I had to speak to the night porter again to ask when this was going to stop as it was keeping us awake. He explained that he was setting up for a function and wouldnt be much longer. I asked would it be finished for 1am which he replied yes he wouldn’t use this corridor again. Now I know there were only 2 rooms occupied, which meant 39 rooms were empty so I’m unsure why we were put in a room where there was going to be traffic till the early hours of the morning! After a nice experience with dinner it did spoil our stay as we didn’t get to sleep till well after 1am. On checking out there was no mention of did you enjoy your stay, so I’m guessing the night porter had maybe passed on our grievance and it was maybe brushed under the carpet Disappointing end to what would have been a lovely night away. But big shout out to Jade who was lovely

We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to it, the hotel and room was nice.We booked a table for6pm on Xmas eve and were still waiting for our starters at 7pm. The service was terrible not enough staff for this busy time! Xmas dinner was not very nice I couldn’t eat the turkey it was tough, the broccoli spears were solid my daughter in law had the beef wellington and it was stone cold, they got her another one and it was still cold in the middle she told them she didn’t want anything but ended up having the turkey. The square sausage at breakfast was still raw in the middle and bacon wasn’t cooked properly.we weren’t the only ones there was a lot of complaints we also felt like second class citizens as the room we were put in was not a patch on the ones on the 3pm sitting was in we were told the the 3pm sitting was fully booked we booked the hotel it was only 12pm that was left. Have used your website lots of times but this is the only one I have issues with ?

Great hotel. Reception staff were excellent. Room was massive with a super king size bed. Lovely toiletries and the towels were big and fluffy. Great choice of tea and coffees in the room. The only thing missing was a bottle of water. Ate in the restaurant and fully enjoyed our dinner. The breakfast was hot and plentiful. Would definitely stay her again. Great value.

Fabulous stay at the Tinto hotel we were upgraded as i requested a nice room as it was my birthday. We stayed in the executive suite it was absolutely gorgeous spacious and clean we had a separate bedroom and sitting room with two comfy sofas and a 3D Tv deco was lovely . The bathroom was a little dated compared to the rest of the suite but this didn’t matter at all. The food was delicious and staff were nice very helpful and friendly made us really welcome. The hotel is perfect for exploring Lanark, Biggar and Pebbles with Edinburgh and Glasgow approx an hour away ethier way from our hotel. Amazing stay and would defo recommend we stayed two nights with dinner on the 1st night and sparkling wine and breakfast both mornings.
