Stayed here in two rooms on a two night DBB bottle of wine in room on arrival deal with a late check -out.A minor complaint was that there was no wine in either room on arrival,however the excellent young man at reception hand delivered them to each room within minutes of being notified.All of the staff here were very helpful and a credit to the hotel.The cooked breakfast was very good but service suffers when busy,On the Sunday despite tables being numbered our tea,coffee and toast was given to other diners along with two of our cooked breakfasts,staff wander round asking table by table if you ordered the food they are carrying instead of noting table numbers.Watch out for strange thing on DBB dining allowance which is a coice of three courses from the set dinner menu at

Nice country style hotel for a murder mystery weekend. Food was generally ok and staff pleasant though seemed a bit overpriced for what it was. Some maintenence work required - toilet roll holder attached to wall with duck tape (really ?) shower head was below my chin level so not easy to wash hair, fire escape route diagram on door didn't match the room location, very thin cheap matress so I hit the bed boards when I turned over (i'm 6ft tall average weight)

Bedroom quite a walk from reception, other than that, we spent a lovely night in hotel, we ate in the bar and the food was lovely and plentiful. Weather was terrible, poured all the time, good excuse to spend more time in the bar!!!!! Would return at the bargain price.

Staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. Rooms were ok, very dusty and needed a clean, very very warm even when windows were open. Food was average, think my starter was reheat in a microwave from frozen.
