Hotel has a wonderful location with beautiful views. We found the staff to be extremely friendly, polite and helpful and our room was lovely - bright, clean, spacious and with fantastic front facing views. Plenty of parking and only a short walk or drive into Peebles Main Street. We would recommend visiting the great sweet shops on the high street! Dinner at the hotel was also enjoyable although the menu itself is a little limited, perhaps as we were visiting during a quiet period? Regardless, we would definitely return for another stay and make use of the leisure facilities as we did not visit them on this occasion

The decor in the hotel is tired and dated. The bedroom was also cramped and old fashioned - bedrooms in the Premier Inn or similar are more modern and spacious. This is not anything like a 4 star hotel. On the plus side the food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The room was fabulous and even had a three piece suite. View from the windows were superb. Nice swimming poor/sauna too. Downside was the very poor evening meal - the lamb was very tough and inedible. Sadly my partner would not let me complain.

Room was needing TLC, but was spotlass reception staff leanne was very helpful. We did book a meal that night but will never book again, we have never been rushed so much at any hotel and head of house we felt was rude when he said if we didnt order a sweet to go into lounge to finish our drinks, I only had a small wine and my husband a pint..Totally over priced for what we gor compaired to other hotels, my husbands Lamb shank was ok he said but the potatoes underneth were cold this is the only time that a meal has been sent back by any of us ever.... breakfast was very good but that was a self service, staff were lovely... I would go back but not for a meal.

staff were really helpful and obliging. the hotel is needing a wee face-lift, the decor is a bit tiered. The swimming pool was nice although again the changing area could be doing with some refurbishment. The grounds are very spacious and the views were stunning. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Greeted warmly on arrival, we only ate breakfast at the hotel which is buffet style. Hotel was very busy, difficult to get served at the bar.

This was our first stay at the Hydro and we were impressed. We had a lovely room - 25 in the old part, the only thing we didn't have explained to us was the breakfast menu, which we would have chosen over the buffet on offer eg poached eggs.

The hotel is very dated and we had to wait for an hour until our room was ready, we were told to have a drink in the bar however that didn't open for another 2 hours. The room was basic and i wouldn't have paid any more than we had for it. The steam room was out of order as was the toddler pool in the leisure centre. Was very close to town which was good. Probably wouldn't stay again.

We had to wait nearly 2 hours to get into our room which was wrong when we eventually got the keys as we had booked a twin room and we got keys for a double. Eventually we got a room which was suitable and after asking why we were delayed so long in getting a room were told "it was a policemans ball last night and there were loads of late check outs" that was why loads of rooms were not ready. What a shambles, my husband says he would never go back or recommend the hotel to anyone!! What a massive let down for myself as I was really looking forward to it, as my mum had just died the week before!
