The Buchanan Arms Hotel in Drymen has been one of the main hotels in the Loch Lomond area for well over 100 years. A former coaching inn standing in the heart of the picturesque conservation village of Drymen. The Buchanan Arms Hotel really absorbs the ambience of the beautiful surrounding countryside and nearby Loch Lomond, which is 4 miles away. There is whole host of things to see and do in this area. You can cruise on Loch Lomond, walk part of the West Highland Way or tour the Trossachs. It's a great area for cycling too. Glasgow and Stirling are only 30 minutes away.
The Buchanan Arms 52 bedrooms are individually decorated, and of late many rooms have been refurbished (2019). This contemporary comfort is very much in keeping with the styling of the hotel.
As you might expect of a hotel so blessed in its setting, fresh local produce is the speciality here at this Loch Lomond hotel. Menus offer an interesting choice of traditional Scottish mixed with a few International favourites. All are chosen and carefully prepared by the skilled team of chefs. The chefs also prepare special dishes daily.

Rooms for Families at the Buchanan Arms Hotel have either a Double Bed or Twin Beds plus a Sofa Bed. If you are looking to book for 2 adults and 2 children, the children would be shareing the Sofa Bed.

The club has excellent ladies and gents changing rooms with high-pressure showers, lockers and other facilities. They are furnished in a modern style to provide an invigorating atmosphere after a strenuous workout, ready to revitalise you before you return to the outside world. The club as well as other necessary toiletries provide for towels.
Whatever you choose to do, the fully trained staff is there to take care of you.
Directions to Buchanan Arms Hotel, Drymen
From Glasgow centre (17 miles approx)
Take the signposts to Aberfoyle A81:
From Glasgow Airport (distance 25 miles)
Take the M8 to Glasgow, follow exit signs to Clyde Tunnel and then keep to the signs to Aberfoyle A81:
Then - At the Bearsden Cross round about take the A809 to Drymen, which is signposted from then onwards
Rush Hour Alternative - take the M8 to Greenock and follow signposts to Erskine Bridge. After crossing the bridge take the A82 to Loch Lomond. Close to reaching Loch Lomond follow the signs to Balloch, which will take you on the A811.
From Stirling (Distance 23 miles)
Follow signposts to Loch Lomond and A811:
From Edinburgh (Distance approx 55 miles)
Leave Edinburgh on the M9 to Stirling and take exit 10 following the tourist route signs to: Loch Lomond, this will take you to the A811:
Then - you find Drymen along this road, signposted after approximately 15 miles

Please note that the rates quoted do not include children. These will be applied on arrival at the hotel and are follows: Children 3 - 10 years : £10 per child per night BB, pay for all other meals as taken The only rooms suitable for families are the Superior Room with Sofa Bed or the Superior Family Room for 3. When booking for 3 adults the price quoted will only be for 2 people. The 3rd adult would be charged for at the hotel. Entertainment - Please be aware that the hotel bar usually hosts live music every Friday and Saturday. Pet friendly rooms are available for £10 per night.
Leisure & Spa Facilities
The leisure and spa are now run independently from the hotel where there is normally a charge to use this facility. We have managed to negotiate with the hotel so that myhotebreak customers will not need to pay this additional fee.
Assault course to sailing on Loch Lomond, fishing, cycling and golf. It is great walking country too with the West Highland Way passing the hotel.
Drymen is also only approx 9 miles from Loch Lomond Shores, which is a gateway to Scotland’s first National Park. If you fancy a walk then there is a wonderful walk at Connic Hill, Balmaha. It is a hill walk on paths. It takes about an hour each way and the views over Loch Lomond is well worth the hike. At the bottom, The Oak Tree Inn is a great place for a well earned drink and good pub grub.
