On Wed 18th,having visited my wifes sister in Carlisle,we returned to the hotel at 0100 hours and had to wait 15 minutes for night porter to open the door.Assistant manager and general manager told of our complaint and aplogised. Bed in room 312 executive room quite poor in quality springs having paid 20 pounds per night extra.

Our stay was extremely comfortable and we were looked after very well. Nothing was too much trouble. Would stay there again.

Staff very friendly and helpful, hence 10. Room a bit small with washhandbasin in bedroom, not bathroom,hence 8.It was the best planning in a limited space but a nuisance. Food was plentiful but we felt more lighter options could have have been on offer. Would certainly stay here again.

Room was tiny I would have thought classic Britain would check this out some rooms have been refurbished we did not have enough room to walk round the bed was told by receptionist Hotel was full and that was why we had a small room

We had a room in the annexe which we found very cold at times which was very disappointing. Other than that everything else was first class and we would consider staying again in the future.

Bedrooms were very clean, however the beds were very small and narrow. Usually hotels have larger beds these days The meal in the restaurant was acceptable but there were no vegetables served with the main courses, which were average in quality.

We had a good 3 night break.2 nights DBB,and third just breakfast this is our third time there.We find hotel great in all departments.The staff are very friendly food excellent.We will be there next year for definate.they They accept dogs,and it is next to all the shops.

stayed at the crown & mitre Carlisle on 13/14 of November on dbb basis and really enjoyed the stay. the staff were helpful and food was excellent, will stay at this hotel again if back at Carlisle.

Parking in their car park is horrendous . Lack of spaces for size of hotel is inadequate. When we arrived we were told we were not staying in the hotel but staying in the annexe across their car park. Not told this in our booking confirmation. We had to come outside to cross over to hotel for our meals. Not good enough, very dissatisfied.

The Hotel was fine , however , we were made to feel quite uncomfortable on arrival at reception , the room was not ready until 4.30pm , ( two hours after we arrived ) , we were asked to go for a coffee out with the hotel , I asked if any of the superior rooms were available and was told that there was availability but that this would be an additional charge , I showed the male receptionist the print out from Classic Britain which indicated that we were entitled to best available room on check in , the guy was quite surly and actually embarassed us with his loud derogatary attitude , he then whispered something to the other young girl on reception who asked us to pay in advance , we were made to feel like we were " at it ". We have used Classic Britain many times over the years and have enjoyed " best room " type offers in the past , this spoiled our weekend to some extent

set menu poor value and quality on the 1st night, however the staff did everything they could. breakfast okay, food 2nd night much better but used the al'carte menu. Hotel will be superb when all works completed.

meal on sunday night was not very good. hard roast potatoes, soggy cauliflower, burnt parsnips, chewy yorkshire but the beef was really good. Attentive staff and a good breakfast after a comfortable night.
