Greeted with a smile at reception and given our room key on arrival. We were then given information about the swim facilities and dinner booking with breakfast. The room looked very luxurious but on closer inspection it was a little fired. Scratches all over the doors and water damage in the bathroom due to forceful pressure on tap. We had a lovely steak dinner but service wasn’t great. We had to ask for puddings of cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding to die for. The entertainment however was spot on with picture quiz, music, movie quiz and bingo. The guy was very attentive but was constantly talking about other staff members being ** lazy to off duty staff. I got the impression that he was head guy as kept telling people what to do. Overall the stay was lovely and we would come back especially for the quiz night. Pool facilities were a bit disappointing as the pool was small and no private changing facilities. As I am a curvy girl and embarrassed at getting changed in front of others.

From the moment we drove into courtyard it felt so welcoming. Reception luxury and receptionists so pleasant. Greeted by a lovely we dog. Said hello Then left us alone. Room was well sized and just where we asked for due to mobility was very well situated for restaurant. Meals were amazing and service and staff so attentive nothing to much trouble Every member of staff giving 100%. Was a special birthday and anniversary and it was a great hotel to stay for these celebrations. We will be back.

Lovely comfortable rooms, great food, lovely staff in a great location. Disappointed with spa when advertised as a spa break, although there were disclaimers everywhere to state that the spa was awaiting an upgrade this wasnt communicated at time of booking. Would return following spa refresh.

We arrived to see this spectacular building at the end of along drive. After checking in we were told to go up 3 steps turn left up a long staircase turn left, then went up 3 more steps then down 3 more! It would have helped (slightly) if we had been told there was a lift discretely hidden which would have saved at least the long staircase. This hotel is not suitable for elderly or disabled clients. The room had two king size beds, two chaises at the end of them, two easy chairs, 5 lights and a dressing table (without a stool). Felt there was too much in room, although bed was comfortable, and clean and bathroom provided plenty of towels etc. Dinner on first night was delicious (husbands fish was massive), second night was ok. Breakfast on both days was usual buffet style which was probably ok at 7am but at 9 was dried up and hard. Cold buffet was nice. Hotel was ok and has swimming pool ok but I think was slightly overpriced. I would warn anyone going about amount of stairs.

Stay was brilliant. Staff super helpful. Rooms spacious and clean. Food in the Prego was amazing! We were sat next to the kitchen so pretty much watched them cook the food which was great. Will defo be back to stay again.

Check in quick and efficient. Room was lovely, clean and well stocked. Evening meal was excellent and service was good. However the breakfast was mediocre verging on poor. There were no plates for cereal and it took a while to find a member of staff to get some. The main problem was the buffet breakfast. It had been left out for far too long and there were two eggs completely congealed. When we went to get our breakfast there had been extra eggs added but again they were overcooked. It’s a shame that a hotel of this calibre cannot get a buffet right especially in view of the standard of the evening meal. I am afraid it will impact on my decision to return.

3rd time at this beautiful hotel, as always everything was perfect and we will be returning. We took out 6yr old Grandson and he loved it. Small playarea and swimming pool for him to enjoy and spacious grounds. We did the B&B, bottle of wine & 3 course meal offer and we only had to add £25 for our grandson's stay & all his food. 2 massive beds in the family room with plenty space. Highly reccomended.

Lovely hotel, rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. Food was good, although menu limited. Service was friendly and good. Leisure facilities waiting to be updated so not as yet luxurious but adequate.

Everything was great. The staff are all happy and friendly, the room was excellent and the food was excellent too. We had one problem with the heating on arrival but I saw the receptionist and it was sorted quickly. Thank you to all for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back.

The hotel is certainly quaint and lovely with plush fixtures and fittings throughout. The staff were all pleasant and were there to meet your needs at all times. The pool is in need of an update but this I believe is on the process. Overall our stay was lovely. Only a couple of issues with teenagers (not residents) being unruly in the pool and although the rooms are done to a high standard there could be a brighter light for lasses to do their make up.

Where do I start with this vacation, it was a 2 night break with dinner bed and breakfast to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Firstly I don’t recall being informed by the provider ( myhotelbreak ) or the hotel itself that it was going through a refurbishment programme or I might have reconsidered my booking ?? On arrival we decided to go for a relaxing couple of hours to the spa before dinner only to find it in what I would only describe as “ in need of serious attention “ the pool, the jacuzzi, the showers were absolutely freezing ?? Our visit was short and we returned to the warmth of our room. At dinner on the first evening I requested some black pepper to compliment my wife’s main course to which a waitress asked an adjoining table to borrow the grinder to which he replied no he wanted it, to which she accepted and left ?? I had to ask again ?? To which she asked again with the same reply and again she accepted ?? At which point I had to STRONGLY! Intervene to resolve. This totally spoilt the occasion. The following morning we went for breakfast only to have our order forgotten and having to ask where it was on arrival my wife’s poached eggs were raw and my full English looked as though it had been under the hot lamp for days!! We got up and left and had no breakfast through no confidence the next day. I could go on listing more failings of this hotel but I have better things to do. I was offered an overnight stay by email but declined as this went no where to compensate for what should have been a memorable stay for the right reasons.
