Very nice hotel in a good location on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Stayed for two nights on DB&B and were very pleased with the standard of the hotel and the food.

We have just returned from our 7th visit to this lovely modern hotel. As usual it was very good, great food, fantastic staff, lovely location. We will be returning in the near future. Our youngest daughter has also been recently,My sister is going in October.

Once again lovely time at derwent manor. Service and staff were excellent, good friendly helpfull staff. Good choice of food and well cooked, was a busy night in restaurant but the meal was well cooked and good value.

The hotel was great, lovely room and extremely good restaurant. Check in wasn’t great as apparently supposed to check in online, however the emails informing me had gone into my junk which I rarely check, the receptionist wasn’t helpful, insisted we check in online so had to wait in reception while I checked in so as not to touch her pen but then she touched my credit card and touched the room key and the room key card do really I didn’t see the point in checking in online!

Room a lovely size. Bathroom a little small. Main seating area rather dark. Staff pleasant. Food expensive for what was served up. eg in the main restaurant main course was prawns in a tomato sauce. These had the tail shells still on smothered in a Pizza style sauce. plus a 1/3rd plate covered in a salad that did not go with the sauce. £18.95. definitely not value for money. Then in the bar area Prawn tail, again not good value for money. Yet in the bar area the club sandwiches and minute steak sandwiches were good value for money.

Absolutely loved our stay at derwent manor, the room very spacious and clean, big comfy bed, lovely bar area , we had drink there but ate in the prego restaurant, plenty of choice on the menu and really good portions. Breakfast was equally as good. Service second to none, staff really friendly. We were asked to wear masks in reception and corridor, we did (lots didn't) we could not fault our stay at all, loved it and definitely will return !

Lovely hotel stay with very comfortable rooms. Good facilities in room. First time we have had a nespresso coffee machine in a hotel room. If I had any criticism to make it would be the bathroom which was beautifully fitted but not practical. The bath was very narrow making it dreadful to get out of and an absence of a handrail of sorts. When standing to have a shower it was very slippy underfoot. The waterfall taps look great but too powerful for the small washbasin. Staff were brilliant and food good even though there was a bit of a wait for it. Would not hesitate to go back though but might just ask for a room with a walk in shower.

An excellent and immaculate hotel with very friendly and helpful staff who could not do enough for you. The measures they had in place for social distancing were very effective but at no time did I feel this impinged on our stay in any way. Rooms were large and spotless with well stocked supplies including the tea/coffee machine. Breakfast was good and plentiful and both our evening meals were excellent. A very enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend the Derwent Manor and I am sure I will be staying there again.

spent 2 nights at Derwent Manor on a short break. Lovely kingsize room which was clean and had been "sterilized" in accordance with current practices.Bed was exceptionally comfortable and gave a great night sleep. Staff were attentive and helpful. There was plenty of hand sanitising station throughout the hotel, and staff were diligent in cleaning surfaces after guests had moved from areas. We ate in the retaurant Prego on our first night, and food was delicious and generous portions. Again the staff were exceptional.We will definitely return here in the future.

2nd time staying here. Great stay, again. Beautiful hotel, lovely big rooms & even had activity/wash packs & new slippers for the kids in the rooms. Lovely food. Beautiful surroundings. Had a problem with one of the receptionists not booking us in for dinner or a slot for the pool as we requested but 2nd receptionist rectified, when we discovered error, & couldnt do anymore for us....great customer service! We also found a poor little couple day old kitten laying in the Woodlands at the hotel when we were taking a wee walk, we ask reception for a box etc to help the kitten....they knew exactly what to do & had their own number to call in those cirstances. Apart from the dinner & pool booking problems (that were quickly rectified) we had a great stay & will definitely be back (for a 3rd/4th time ?)

We have been to the hotel several time and always a very enjoyable visit. we were there at the weekend for two nights including evening dinner and on both nights the food was excellent. big shout out for the waitress who were fantastic. very quick check in and check out, hotel on a whole was spotless even with some on going works to the main reception area. Bar staff were good and prices are not too bad. overall another great weekend and made our anniversary was to why we stayed. hopefully we see you all soon

This was our 6th visit 3rd within a year the food is very good you will see from previous reviews I always gave 100% even if there were slight issues I overlooked them.This time I felt I had to comment. The rooms are too warm, overcrowded with furniture. There is a large dressing table which if you touch the underside you cut you finger or catch your clothes.The pool has a lot of dead flies in it and the jacuzzi doesn't work often. The main problem was the service in the restaurant we were served 2 large pancakes one morning the next one small pancake the waitress and the chef were to busy joking with each other.Another night we were served pate that was different than described on the menu this could have been a problem to anyone with allergies. I would have pointed out these problems on leaving however the reception didn't require about our stay and I felt on checking in they had been abrupt. It is a shame as this hotel used to be our top destination.We have now found a replacement hotel.

Beautiful place food excellent staff very helpful all round top class spa facilities bit poor small pool changing rooms not very good staff bit laid back as there was no under 16 in jacuzzi but a man had his3 year old daughter in for at least 15 mins we had to complain on way out but regards to hotel bit room food first class
