We all had a good time at the hotel food was good beds were comfy , the staff were really nice. The hotel just needs a bit of upgrading.

TIRED & DATED! Very disappointed with the bedroom, and as for the transport cafe approach to breskfast - awful!! The price for drinks at the bar would give any 5 star hotel a 'run for their money'!

Hotel entrance lovely, rooms just okay but it is an old hotel, but just so central. Have gone every year for the past five years so it can’t be that bad !!!

Lovely Victorian Hotel...had a nights stay in this hotel. Room was spacious, bed comfortable , staff attentive , breakfast good although for a cooked breakfast wish they could ask you at your table what you wanted for your cooked breakfast. Right next to train and bus station easy walk to River , shops , bars visitor attractions It is a little tired yet on walking through the main entrance and seeing the staircase ...you knew you were in a hotel filled with character .

We were very happy with our stay at Royal Highland Hotel, Inverness. On arrival, we were informed we were being upgraded to their very best room which housed a four poster bed, a nice marble fireplace with fire and large comfortable chairs and settee along with an enormous TV. The room was very spacious and contained some beautiful furniture and a lovely bathroom. Our evening meal was very fine and delicious. Service was excellent and staff throughout the hotel were efficient, kind and helpful.

Yet another great stay at this Hotel. We were upgraded to the Royal Room which was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds too. The food as usual was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

So disappointed! Rooms are very dated, small and way too warm. Breakfast was awful and very limited choice and we got a full breakfast which was also awful. No knifes and though there were 5 staff they showed no attention to detail. We were so disappointed we didn’t have our afternoon tea. We will not be back and definitely not recommend to anyone.

We really liked the hotel. It has so much character and the staff were very obliging and friendly. It couldn't be in a more convenient location for both the train station and the bus station. Our bedroom was very spacious as was the bathroom, which had a very large bath and constant . The bed was huge and was extremely comfortable. The welcome tails, the two course evening meal and the afternoon tea, which were included in our deal, were very good. The continental breakfast was certainly adequate and set us up for the day, but personally I would prefer a better selection of fresh fruit ( there were only apples ) and some tomatoes with the ham and salami. However this is just a minor point and everything else about the breakfast was good. The coffee was delicious and there was a good selection of teas. Apart for the minor niggle about the breakfast, we could not fault anything, especially at the great price we paid. We highly recommend this hotel and will hopefully be back at some point in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location. We were very lucky to get parked right outside, but parking is very limited. Warm and comfortable room. Friendly, helpful staff. Great choice at breakfast. Nice Ash restaurant for dinner - although a bit cold. Great deal. Would buy again.

Lovely grand old hotel. Okay it needs new windows and some refurbishment but it's fairly grand. The public entrance and staircase is fabulous. Food was traditional but great quality and big portions. Personal view but the breakfast haggis was not very good, try a new butcher. My observation was most plates left it. All in all, excellent staff and a very nice trip for 7 family members Sam

As per previous reviews the hotel is an old building and can do with a bit of tlc. Our bedroom was compact but had everything we required . Again the bathroom and fixtures could use a bit of update,but then you might lose the ambience of the building. We ate in the restaurant both nights and whilst not fine dining the meals were good, good size portions. Breakfast was order at the desk when you arrived for breakfast then served to your table after you have partaken of the continental breakfast if you wanted this. Juice dispenser wasn’t the best,imo the juice wasn’t the best quality. Yoghurts were good but only apples as a fresh fruit offering . Hot drinks were again dispensed from a machine, only tried tea but didn’t like the finished product. Felt like the water wasn’t boiling temperature to bring out the taste of the tea. Hotel is in a perfect place for the train station and the bus station. Would possibly return but upgrade to a bigger room.

Friendly and helpful staff at reception and dining room.Large room on ground floor was very clean but windows could do with replacing,and doors painting.Dinner was delicious and afternoon tea tasty.Would use again as right next to station

I enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again. Dinner was excellent but thought the continental breakfast could have been improved. Reception staff were were friendly and helpful.

Dinner was beautiful we couldn't fault it however breakfast wasn't great at all. The rooms very old abd run down. There were hairs behind the toilet door. The bedside lights didn't work and the radiator in the room didn't work. The service at reception wasn't the most friendly they were happy to see you leave quickly taking keys from you without asking how your stay was.

Lovely hotel with beautiful staircase. Staff very helpful and courteous. Good food too. Great location. Drinks from the bar are quite expensive that's the only negative thing I can say. Will definitely be back.

Average hotel. Location was great very central. Rooms need a bit of updating. No storage like drawers for clothes, tiny wardrobe with only 5 coat hangers. Window very old and looked as though it was ready to fall out. Food was okay but expensive so lucky it was included in our stay. Staff were good especially the two young girls who served us our afternoon tea. Breakfast was bit disappointing especially the hot choice which we paid extra for.

Just a lovely stay from arrival to departure. One triple room and one twin between us. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast had everything you could possibly want but If you wanted a cooked one only £5 to pay. This is my second visit to this hotel and I know I will be back again.
