Hi , Hotel location good , staff very curtious but unfortunately the room was located over the train station with engines starting / departing from 04-30 onwards . NOT RECOMMENDED Regards V Gunn....

I would have liked to have assistance with my luggage. Yes there is an elevator but I also had to go up about 12 steps to my room. I was pleased with the room and delighted with the size of the bathtub.

I had booked a single room through Booking.com a couple of weeks previous to arrival yet when I went to book in there was no record of my booking!Luckily a room was found for me and thankfully has never happened to me before.Whether it was a blip in Booking.com s system or the Royal Highland s I do nt know.In future I shall send an email prior to arrival!

The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. However we were at the front of the hotel and could hear traffic and the voices of people passing. the windows were not double glazed. The food was tasty but came "warm" this along with a cold plate meant the meal was cold before being fully consumed.

Rather tired old hotel, needs some decoration:Their computer system seems to fail in some areas eg the restaurant not knowing what deal the customer is taking,no note of car reg. caused minor problem in car park.Reception was a bit flat but waiting staff very pleasant and helpful

brilliant stay, thank you, we had a really nice room on the third floor overlooking the railway station. nice big room. breakfast was brilliant, nice smoked haddock and poached eggs!

enterd room that I was given had people clothes shoes makeup in . Was then given a little horrible room in bad need of refurbishing. Complained given another room could not control the heat big water pipes under bed so hot like behamas very uncomfortable . My husband was just out of hospital so felt he did not need all this happening .

I have stayed at the Royal Highland several times and the rooms have always been good. Big rooms and modern, clean bathrooms. Service had been something of an issue in the past but see a real improvement this time.

Was looking forward to this trip as family had stayed at this hotel before and that the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the meal was anything but excellent. Our deal included a bottle of wine. I asked the waiter if it was possible to upgrade from house wine and pay the difference. His response was 'I wouldn't think so'. I asked him to check and as expected it was possible to make the change. I ordered Chicken Tikka and had to send the curry sauce back as it was cold. By the time the full meal arrived, the rice was then cold. My partner had pasta which was tasteless. Almost every table of diners complained about the food. Breakfasts were OK however, the layout was not the best. The toaster was next to the fruit chiller and as it took a long time for the toast to be ready, this resulted in a queue at the fruit chiller therefore making it very difficult to get your breakfast.

Was upgraded room which was massive - had 2 double beds spotless! Had a lovely lunch when we arrived at the hotel, but disappointed with dinner at night, had to send one of the meals back, not as good as lunch time, breakfast was plentiful and hot, would not put me off going back to this hotel.
