My friend and I had a lovely two nights dinner bed and breakfast at this hotel. While the decor throughout the hotel may be quite old worldly, our room was warm and welcoming. The beds, linen and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the front of house staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food...... the food is marvellous! This is true home made food and the portion sizes are excellent. Three course each night and the choice was exceptional. You are served your food at your dining table. Compliments to the chef and the waiting staff you do an amazing job. The breakfasts too had everything from fruit juice, cereals and of course the full Scottish breakfast inclusive of good old black pudding which was in a class of its own. I highly recommend this gem of a hotel for its location, cleanliness, pricing and all of the above.

Hotel is ideally situated in a lovely setting. Very good service friendly staff. Great value for money we had a lovely room and the food was really good. We would definitely stay again.Lots of really scenic places to visit nearby.

Room was clean and looked recently refurbished. Both the buffet breakfast and dinner had good choices available with helpful, efficient staff on hand. The hotel is located about one mile from Aberfoyle with a path parallel to the main road providing a pleasant walkway. It was our first stay at the hotel - we enjoyed a restful break and will certainly consider a future return visit.

Had a lovely weekend here. Rooms were quite big, very clean, bathroom looked newly decorated with full floor and wall tiling and white fluffy towels. Meals were excellent and breakfast was all you could ask for. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful and hotel was in a lovely area. Certainly worth more than 2 star.

We enjoyed our break very much & were satisfied with the service of the friendly hotel staff. It was a bit unfortunate that Wi-fi was not available in our room on the first day as we had to be in touch with our daughter ovas, but we know that was not the fault of the Hotel. We thought the break was tremendous value for money & would recommend the Rob Roy Hotel to our friends.

great value 3 day break - we love the area and the staff at the Rob Roy cannot be faulted. The room was a good size, the free wifi a bit slow but that is a minor point. So much to see and do in the area. Can highly recommend the hotel for value and superb location

Hotel rooms have been redecorated, furniture updated and now have WiFi. Bathrooms also updated but shower was small and shower head needs updating so there is more coverage when showering. Food was very good with plenty of choice. Breakfast had all the usual choices. Second time there, great value for money. Staff very helpful. Ideal location for the Trossachs Loch Lomond and Loch Kathrine.

Wonderful location - rooms are being upgraded bit by bit - generally the hotel is looking better - we have stayed a few times and we really like the place - the staff are very friendly and helpful - all in all we can recommend the Rob Roy - food is decent.

Excellent hotel very friendly staff meals were very tasty and rooms clean and tidy.We asked to be moved to another room as my wife suffers from osteo arthritis and receptiion staff helped out to find another room with no drama.Would not hesitate to book again big ty to staff who made us very welcome.

Had a brilliant time at tribute night. Food was delicious and entertainment was excellent. Rooms were really nice and late check out was a welcome bonus. Service was excellent staff very friendly and helpful especially Anne on reception. Will definitely be returning for another tribute night.

Very quiet when we stayed, and looked like some refurbishment was taking place, which the hotel would benefit greatly from. Food was very nice and the staff very pleasant, although we felt like the service was a bit rushed, considering how few guests there were. Lovely walks around the hotel for our 2 dogs, and very good value for a Sunday night stay, even if the room was fairly basic.

Friendly hotel with a excellent buffet breakfast , if you want a fried or boiled egg just ask when your seated . Rooms are of a decent standard and free Wi-Fi thought hotel although slow at times .

Rooms are comfortable and spotless. Food was good but my husband would have enjoyed mash instead of the scallop potatoes that came with his lamb casserole and I would have preferred salad with my goats cheese tart. Only a small point as lentil and bacon soup and the potato wedges were delicious. Sticky toffee pudding and passion fruit cake were delicious also. Service was excellent but we have to give a special mention to Ann on reception who is so friendly and helpful. She is very welcoming and gave us information on the surrounding area and is the reason why service is 10/10. Don't miss out on the beautiful walk at the back of the hotel into Aberfoyle. Can't wait for our next visit hopefully to try a tribute night and will highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.
