Hotel was great, very elegant, lots of space. Breakfast good could have ben a bit warmer, good size pool, jacuzzies not working a bit disappointing. La Cucina restaurant, can be very busy not much space, and very loud.(people should be made aware of this).

We booked a package of dinner , bed and breakfast at the fairmount for my partners birthday and was suppose to be a nice surprise when we got to the hotel the hotel reception staff welcomed us and asked to take a payment of a credit card of 399 pound although the Package deal I booked was 299 pound they said they needed this to check us in i case we purchased any extras I told them that I have booked through my hotel .com and they said that was a third and you would need to call them as i was arguing my case of I was only paying the 299 package deal from hotel .com which I had on paperwork from them ! So I didn't have my credit card on me so my partner whose birthday suprise it was had to pay the 399 on his credit card then we had a look around the hotel and the Zachary bar was closed and the fine dining area the cucina restraunt was closed but we could fine at the bar now it was my partners birthday and I was hoping for something a bit more special than a bar especially at the fairmount ! I asked to cancel the booking and said I couldn't as it was booked through hotel .com, we eventually spoke to manageress and she was lovely and offered us the restaraunt down at the sea we eventually stayed but my overall experience was stressful disappointing no information regarding closures of bars and restraunts updated surprise added payments onto package deal where they want money soon as you go in to check in so all in all they took 699 pound from a 299 package deal from hotel .com then after we paid the 299 they credited the 399 but what a carryon for a simple package deal of 299 pound for my partners birthday ! Oh and the spa jacuzzi wasn't working and the aerobics class was going on when we went in with Bon jovi living on a prayer blasting out in the relaxing spa so experience was rather disappointing and know one knows there back side to there elbow

The hotel was lovely, as were the staff, the spa and rooms was great the buffet breakfast was sensational, however we went with kids as the hotel gets superb reviews for families, but unfortunately due to the pool table been broken, the golf simulator having numerous broken clubs, no controllers could be found for the game’s consoles and the Puck for the air hockey also missing it turned out to be rather disappointing. This is not a cheap hotel for an overnight stay and would have expected all of the above to be in working order.

Really enjoyed our stay at Fairmont, St. Andrews. We are repeat customers but haven't been for a long time. Room beautiful and airy as usual and the bathroom is a real treat. Liked the tea and coffee choices. Also like how the hotel is now providing large bottles of the branded shower gel, hair wash and conditioner to save on waste, excellent idea. There were a couple of very minor cleaning issues in the room which were so minor it wasn't worth mentioning. We had a lovely room on the ground floor with a sea view. It was my Partner's birthday and we had drinks in the evening and the Staff were very professional and friendly. The Reception staff likewise. Everybody we came in contact with at the hotel were the same and it gave a very good impression. The breakfast was lovely as usual, however, I would love to see vegetarian sausages on offer just to expand our veggie breakfast choices. Excellent coffee served for breakfast, loved it. We will definitely be back as soon as we can manage. Thank you. Thank you to Myhotelbreak.com for providing a good deal on the Room Credit.

We really liked the hotel but the food in La Cucina was very poor. The sauce on the pork was burnt or over-reduced and the replacement meal was not much better. We paid £40 for a bottle of wine which was not chilled, replaced with another which was put in iced water but still not properly chilled. The staff were excellent and removed the cost of my meal however paying £40 for un-chilled wine was not good even when we complained again when checking out.

As a family of four, we recently visited the hotel for a half term break. The hotel staff we’re very welcoming on arrival and kindly booked our swim and dinner slots. Our family room with two double beds was spacious, with partial sea views and beautiful view of the Fairmont grounds. The bathroom with the rainfall shower and luxurious bath tub is one of the best things about the stay. Wow! Food and drinks in the Kittock’s Den and La Cucina were fantastic - always great service with a smile. Our delicious food tasted fresh and was always well presented with good portions sizes. Breakfast the next day was incredible, so much variety from pastries and cereals with smoothies to fruit platters, pancakes or full Scottish cooked breakfast. However, I always enjoy the omelette station! The highlight of our trip was seeing more family things to keep the children busy: the playroom with consoles, mini soft play and machines with air hockey. The Sports Bar is now even more fabulous with simulator games, table top football and pool. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont but would avoid going in February as it was a quiet time for bookings which meant that the restaurants were running on limited service. Excellent breakfast but evening meal was restricted to Italian restaurant one evening. This was not mentioned when we arrived which meant we ended up dinning out in St Andrews. Unfortunately for us the spa changing rooms were closed both days we stayed at the Fairmont for urgent maintenance which meant when you went to use the swimming pool you were met with a line up of people’s shoes and clothes. We were only informed of the changing room closures when we went to use the pool/sauna etc. Overall the hotel and our room was to a high standard, staff were friendly and welcoming and would return for another stay to see the hotel running at its true self.

The whole family had a great trip to the Fairmont. The rooms were spacious and the facilities on offer were top class. The breakfast was the perfect cure to some overindulgence in the bar the night before.

We loved our stay at the fairmount hotel. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help, the concierge took us to the grill bar where we had steak for dinner, the steaks were cooked to perfection! The staff in there were amazing, they even gave us our first drinks on the house as it was my partner’s birthday. Again the concierge staff took us to the golf shop in the morning I would definitely be back , the rooms were great.

2 night stay in a very clean twin room. All staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Only downside was that there is no blue badge parking despite during my last stay I was assured this would be addressed. 1 suggestion I have is that some storage for toilet bags in the bathroom.

The starters for the meals were a disgrace prawn tail was tiny lucky if we had 5 prawns each very little sauce and a tiny portion of lettuce near died when it arrived cost 12.00 second night in Italian minestrone soup came in a massive bowl but lucky if there was half a ladel in it apart from that the mains were lovely and spacious and staff were very helpful

This was our first time visiting the Fairmont St Andrews. The hotel itself was beautiful, unfortunately the spa was not yet open due to covid however the hotel and surroundings did not disappoint. The room was gorgeous and very clean. My only criticism of the room would be the ice bucket. We paid to have Prosecco in the room on arrival. The ice bucket was cracked and the desk, chair and carpet were soaked. The staff through out the hotel were great. Extremely welcoming and helpful. Dinner in the squire hotel was extremely disappointing. We ate quite late as had not prebooked our table. This wasn't a problem our table was for 9:15pm and we were seated at 9pm. My husband ordered Scallops to start, whilst I'm told these tasted great they were particularly small and there were only 2 on the plate. For £20 this was pretty poor. We both had fillet steaks as a main. The choice of sauce was disappointing and both steaks were dry and over cooked. We did not feel it would have been right to send these back. We waited a full hour before being served our main course from finishing our starters. At 10:35pm neither of us wished to wait any longer for another steak to be cooked. The food appeared to have been sitting for a while from the appearance of the steaks and the cold sides. This was surprising as we were the only guests left in the restaurant and this was well staffed. Breakfast in the squire hotel was delicious - great choice and really fresh. Finally on check out we discovered we had been charged twice for our room. We were told a hold would be placed on our card on arrival for the room balance and £50 per head for extras. This was not a hold this was a charge and after already paying in full through my hotel break for this room it means we are now temporarily out of money for the balance of our stay. This was quite disappointing however the lady on reception was extremely apologetic and quick to rectify this for us. I would definitely stay at this hotel again however would probably eat out in town for our evening meal.
