Pleasant check-in experience. Guest room clean and cosy, though location not great-too close to reception and gift shop, so quite noisy at times. We didn't book early enough for dinner in The Squire, so remained in the pub for dinner. We waited one hour in between courses and discussed this with staff who simply smiled and apologised! The hotel setting is beautiful and views were fabulous. We enjoyed the pool area and steam/sauna.

We were attending a wedding in St Andrew's and booked a 2 night stay at this fabulous hotel. The concierge unloading my car and taking everything to my room was so welcome as I travelled separately to my husband. The "boss" (lovely woman from Vermont) was exceptional in an unobtrusive way. In fact every member of staff I encountered - the gym attendant, the maid, the waiters/waitresses at breakfast all made this a wonderful break. The hotel has a very relaxed and comfortable feel to it which I think is attributable to the lovely staff. We will most definately return and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting this breathtakingly beautiful area of Scotland. ps (The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in and the bed sheets were like a baby's skin)

Did not have a very good time as the service at dinner on the first night and breakfast on the first morning was very slow and unorganised this was due to a severe lack of staff. we have been here before and enjoyed this is why we returned but dont think we will go back defineately not 5star service. we did complain and were given a bottle of wine and breakfast in the room on our last morning and service was better on the second night at dinner but I am afraid it spoiled our weekend, and it was my wifes birthday weekend so not a happy one.

Thoroughly enjoyed a 2 night break at the Fairmont with my partner and two year old child. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are extremely pleasant which made for a very happy and relaxed mummy. Breakfast fantastic. Bar meals average. Room spacious. Will definately return very soon.

The hotel and staff were very friendly but they were not very forthcoming when booking a table for dinner. On three occassions we wanted a certain time but they couldn't do that time but when we got to restaurants they were extremely quiet, bit disappointed. The best restaurant was the Clubhouse and would highly recommend.

We went to the hotel for my birthday so my husband had ordered chocolates and fruit in advance on arrival they hadn't been put in room so complained and were told they would be there first thing next morning never came complained again and they turned up 8 pm the nite before we were leaving ,we return to this hotel on special occasions at least 4 times in the year but after this visit we will be looking at other hotels the food was really nice as it always is but the service was atrocious on both nites we waited 55 minutes for our dessert menu we ended up telling them not to bother we had waited to long on the Friday evening we ordered a bottle off wine and it came to the table 35 minutes later after we complained ,my experience this time has put me off the hotel I will visit again but not for a good while and certainly not the 4 times we usually do.

Had another fabulous stay at the Fairmont, we love coming here. The food is just amazing, totally world class. The staff are lovely and cant do enough for you. The only negative comment i can make is i dont like the pillows, too hard for me.

Hotel was fabulous, what an amazing experience. Rooms are a amazing. Spa is amazing. Food is fantastic. But the bed was lumpy and 2 single beds pushed together. Disappointing in that factor. TV was a nightmare to control had a different remote that wasnt very responsive.

The hotel was very grand and luxurious from the minute you drive up the long entrance path. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are very spacious and we enjoyed the fact you have a seperate bath and shower area. food was delicious and served quickly, our only criticism would be at breakfast you queued to have the chef cook you eggs,mushrooms, omelette. Although you get the food fresh it would be better to have these pre made like the sausages,bacon etc as there was quite a queue. All in all a brilliant hotel and would definately return.
