No free wifi in a 5 star???? No free paper?? No TV guide? Could not alter air conditioning? Shower - when on more than a dribble - flooded bathroom! Most of all -

Lovely hotel. Greeted by extremely professional and friendly staff who made us feel welcome and special. Had booked last min only 30 mins before arriving ! Our room was on the 3rd, large with 2 double beds & stunning views over golf course . We had not asked for views but were delighted with room. We were on a dbb deal with dinner on one night only. We ate in the Italian restaurant at hotel .food was ok but felt service poor waited 15 mins on a salad starter and offered water for table but not tap water, felt tried to sell more options to us . However all in all had a lovely 2 day break & would go back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont. Lovely room, staff very helpful and pleasant. We ate in the Clubhouse both nights. Enjoyed our meal the first night so much went back the second night but food not so good! Possibly different chef? Staff in the Clubhouse seemed a bit harassed and we were charged on our bill incorrectly but this was sorted out at reception . We played the Torrance course which was a very nice course and a bonus of lovely weather .Also used the pool which was lovely Would recommend and would go back.

Just spent a weekend at Fairmont st andrews through classic Britain. The hotel was simply breathtakingly. The staff on arrival and throughout were extremely helpful and friendly. The food at breakfast and evening was 5 star. The pool and spa, top quality although the machines in the gym need upgrading. Our whole stay was everything and more, and wouldn't hesitate to recommended. Will certainly be back in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fairmont Hotel. Very relaxing. Disappointed that the steam room was not in working order as I much prefer this to the sauna. Also disappointed at breakfast as they had no unsliced white or brown bread. They only had the standard sliced white or brown and this was about 09.30 and breakfast was available up until 11.00

A little bit disappointed on this our first visit to the Fairmont! My daughter and her husband have thoroughly enjoyed a couple of stays there, but we didn`t feel similarly towards this hotel. Although rooms are lovely, breakfast was good, staff were good, both my wife and I just felt a lack atmosphere about the place compared to the likes of Turnberry or Gleneagles.

Dream weekend. Upgraded on arrival because of a mix up. Service absolutely faultless. Would recommend without hesitation.

Have been going to Fairmont for many years and this time were disappointed - we booked in January and were not told that the Squire would NOT be serving the usual amazing 3 course Table D'Hote Menu they usually do - in fact they are now only using The Squire for breakfast but while we were there they did a buffet each night in that Restaurant as is was Easter. The buffet in the evening was certainly not a 5* Restaurant Buffet - the food was cold - and one of the evening's my Husband had tried 4 different main courses to try to get something that was HOT - in the end the M'Aitre D had to go through to the kitchen and bring him a HOT main course, while I sat eating on my own. We also had to say about the cold food on the first evening. We were not alone in complaining about the food and the buffet. Fairmont is a very Special place for us and we love going there, for the pampering, lovely food, ambience and of course the golf. We certainly were not impressed and as it was my husband's birthday on Monday while we were there I think it made it even more disappointing They told us they were trying to cater for children as it was the Easter break - but I really do not think that they needed to put chicken nougats and macaroni cheese on a buffet in a 5* Restaurant The bedrooms and the Staff are always amazing and do a Fantastic Job, over the years we have got to know many of the Staff and they never forget you considering the volumes of people they must see visiting the Hotel. We always book with the HOtel direct but booked with you this time as we had an email with a good offer - we do understand that this really is not your fault I think Fairmont will lose a lot of regular business now by closing The Squire for evening meals - Yes they have opened up a new Italian Restaurant but I can go and eat that anytime

Did not enjoy buffet dinner, as food was cold and not much of a selection for the main course. On our second night we had dinner in the Italian restaurant , which was first class

Fairmont Hotel, St; Andrews was fantastic! We spent Easter Saturday and Sunday in 'The Kingdom of Fife' suite (having been upgraded from a suite). We could not believe our luck! The suite was the best the hotel could offer. It was huge, cosy and comfortable. We sipped champagne in the spacious living room, watching the sun go down, whils't sat out on the balcony. The views across the golf course to the town of St; Andrews were amazing. To round it all off, a magnificent sunset! Sadly, we didn't get to use the Spa facilities. We made use of all of the facilities, provided in our suite i.e. jacuzzi, massage bath and waterfall shower. Dining in the Club House was an enjoyable experience. We were running late, so the shuttle bus came in handy. Our table had a fab view. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Compliments to the chef as our steaks were delicious. We chose to dine in the Italian restaurant on our second night. This was situated in the hotel. Staff were friendly. The atmosphere was cosy. We chose a lovely red wine to compliment our food. Breakfast was busy busy on both mornings. The choice of food was amazing. The staff worked hard to replenish the dishes. However, for those of us who like to drink tea, I was disappointed that only one teabag was used to fill a medium to large sized teapot! That was our only disappointment (miniscule I know!). We loved the friendliness of the hotel. The door supervisors were the bizz, dressed in their tartan regalia. Once again Classic Britain has come up trumps. It was an unbelievable experience. We would recommend the Fairmont to everyone. Tracy and David South Tyneside

The room was lovely but was cold. We tried to put the heating up but for some reason it didn't work. We didn't like the meal at the Italian Restaurant - 3 prawns for starter at
