Delicious food in the Kailyard restaurant. The hotel was very busy with the excellent offers on at the moment and the kitchen is finding it difficult to keep up so service is good but a bit slow and unless you book in advance you won't get a decent time for dinner. Breakfast was lovely but again really busy. The deluxe room we upgraded and paid for were lovely but other guests were less happy with their standard rooms.

Lovely stay but very busy so had to queue for breakfast but we were on a short break so we were not in any hurry. I think they have to look at this if they are taking bookings for 300 plus people

Having stayed at the hotel numerous times and always been delighted with food and service we were unfortunately slightly disappointed this time.perhaps our expectations were too high but the srvice wad particularly slow on thus occassion and although good was not great. The staff were also not as attentive or friendly ss on all previous visits. We will return and hope standards have returned to normal highs

Room 237 on 3rd floor is very warm without heating. Have stayed here on 4 occasions but this time food was average. Now being charged for a bread roll with starter. Supplements expensive for what you get. Hotel has lost its sparkle. Sunday Saver 19th October 2014.

19th OCT. Grand old hotel. Staff were first class .Meals were excellent.Wine overpriced as usual.Bedroom was good except the very bad mould at base of shower screen.House manager not doing a good job.

Really disappointed with our stay at the Dunblane hydro. Paid a supplement to get a bigger room and wouldn't like to guess what the room would have been like if we had not paid this. There were no little extras in the room, or toiletries or even a mini bar. Hotel tried to charge for meals when settling the bill, even though we had pre-paid for this. There was no space in the restaurant to eat, so we had to make do with a bar meal. The pool changing rooms were very dirty and the gym was old and tired out. Weights were rusted and the tv screens did not work. The views from the hotel are fabulous but the hotel is not all it is raved up to be! This was meant to be an anniversary trip away and it was really disheartening that we came away feeling like we did not want to go back. This is the first time i have taken time to write a review, i am so disappointed that our weekend was essentially spoiled.

First night in restaurant everything great until dessert. 1st choice of dessert not available (wasn't told this by waiting staff-made a quick decision for 2nd option) waited overly long time for dessert- to the extent staff were offering tea/coffee before we had dessert! after 40 minutes cancelled dessert (restaurant was empty. Waiting staff were clearing up) asked for bill received bill and discovered we had been overcharged for drinks we did not have.

Very very busy hotel and it was dissapointing that even though I had booked a table for 13 of us at 8pm months earlier it had not been done. We had to eat late on our first night but they did manage to let us eat earlier on the second night. This is a lovely hotel and a lovely location downside is having to leave the hotel to reach the swimming pool - a covered walkway may be a better option.

We booked a 2 night special and tagged on an additional Sunday night through Classic Britain for Friday 12th through to Monday 15th September. On the booking I asked that we have the same room for the booking for all three nights. This was on recommendation from Classic Britain. However somewhere on the booking only one night was selected on the first booking which was Friday and the other for the Sunday. This was only Highlighted when we booked in on the Friday. I can say that i clearly I misread the email confirmation and missed the fact that only the Friday night had been confirmed. However there is an expectation when dunblane hydro received the booking they also overlooked the fact that we we're expecting a 3 night stay. Dunblane was fully booked on the Saturday night and there was nothing they could do offer us. We then had to seek somewhere else to stay on the Saturday and then return on the Sunday. Not in the least ideal, quite unhappy that our comments on the original booking had not been acknowledged or questioned and perhaps could have avoided the situation we unwittingly found ourselves in.

Booked a twin room for me and my friend and upgraded to deluxe. The room was just a regular room whereby they had not even seperated the beds. Called reception and it took approx 2 hours to get it sorted. Bathroom was small... overall it was definately not a 4 star room. We were given bottle of wine with dinner which was a goodwill gesture. Overall i personally will not be booking for dunblane hydro again.
