Lovely hotel and surroundings. We told them it was a special birthday when we booked and there was a card and a box of chocolates in our room on arrival which was a nice touch. Leisure facilities could do with an upgrade as they are quite dated. Bar staff could have been friendlier and quicker at serving since there was 5 of them and only about 15 guests. Happy to recommend though and will probably book again in the future.

Stay was excellent! Only criticism we found was that it was very cold in the open bar area. We would've stayed in the bar longer after our meal but found it too cold (we did have jumpers on!) and went back up to our room.

Very good standard of cleanliness and quality of furnishings. Dinner was excellent both service and food. Special mention for bar staff ..friendly and informative. Breakfast fare a dissapointment sausages bland.. too much food in servery meant some foods were cold. Would visit again.

Katie Was waiting for feedback form! Unfortunately I would not go back here again. Attempted to book in at 1550 on sun 16 February but was told our room was not ready but no wait there is a room ready do I want it? We sadly took the room 143 in 70 Stirling suite/wing. There was bottles and glasses all the way down corridor to the room which, was basically backing on to busy car park area. Room was not of great standard - I went back to complain but was confronted with at least 40 couples attempting to book in! (1620) We went out for walk but returned hour or so later to find glasses etc still in the corridor. After discovering blood on mattress protector we went to complain - to be told Yes lots of people complain about the Stirling wing but we will change mattress protector, no other rooms available! in morning the glasses STILL remained plus the heavy lorries parking outside room made long lye impossible as they were getting ready for a home show in the foyer area. what I asked was - when being told our room wasn't ready did she mean, your lovely room in the main hotel wasn't ready but hey I can give you room in our 2 star Stirling wing! The guy on desk basically agreed by saying they always get this feedback - if this was case they shouldn't be putting people in here! We paid and checked out. To add insult to injury the credit card which, is hardly used was ripped off for

rooms were pretty shabby like an old premier inn but think they were in the process of doing the place up. Apart from that the food was great and service good. Would definately book with Classic Britain again - which we have done

I found the hotel staff warm and welcoming without being overly fussy. The hotel room and the hotel in general were clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed our DBB stay. A minor downside was after leaving my mobile phone in our room after checking out. I rang the hotel once home and was told 'no phone could be found in the room'. This despite knowing the mobile phone must have been left in the room.

was given a poor room on arrival, however they did move me next day. Staff were helpful & friendly. For me i would have liked a little more entertainment especially on the Saturday night. A tv room with sport would be great.

we had to wait 45 mins to check in which was not a great start then our room was too warm , unable to see out window and it only opened a tiny bit making us feel very clostraphobic and the service in restaraunt was very slow however the food was very nice and the staff also and the leisure facilities were fine , we went home then noticed hotel had taken 2 payments from our bank we phoned them n was told it would be sorted out in 20 minutes but we are still waiting a day later , what was supposed to be a relaxing break turned into us being left stressed and annoyed not what u would expect from a highly rated hotel .

Sadly on this visit to the Hydro we were very disappointed by service, food and the room. Unfortunately we had items go missing from the room, possibly mistaken for hotel items. Although received complimentary bottle of wine the Hotel made no effort to locate our missing items. Which we will now have to replace. The food for a Nick Nairn restaurant was poor, I had the same starter on both nights but the dish was served totally different. Not what you would expect for supposedly Nick Nairn dish. Sirloin which replace the halibut was tough and very dry and unfortunately couldn't eat and had to be sent back. I was however given an alternative dish that was excellent. But the time between courses was ridiculous, first night whole meal took 2 1/2 hours and second night waited over 20 minutes for a dessert that was served cold. Had booked to go back at end of January but had now cancelled due to our experience this time. Also bedroom not cleaned thoroughly as previous occupant had left an under garment in the wardrobe.

Unfortunately, the seamless efficiency I have come to expect from Classic Britain did not occur on this occasion. On arrival @ Doubletree in soon became obvious to me that they had no record of our reservation. Only on receipt of my confirmation email, was a room made available to us. This was obviously the most compact room in the hotel (we had to turn sideways to pass between bed and mini-bar. This resulted in us asking if this was "the best room available on checking-in)which it obviously was not. A quick upgrade to a family room was forthcoming. The hotel was practically empty, so no issues arose. Dunblane Hydro indicated they were contacting Classic Britain to resolve the initial problem and I trust they have done so.

Bedroom was comfortable, dinner in restaurant could have been better - too many fish starters, whisky sauce for steak was a bit thin, battered onion rings, although tasty were cut too thin.
