Excellent parking area. We had booked for 1 night but ended up staying for 2. On arrival the receptionist was very good & welcoming giving uz the option to a good value upgrade which we did. Room & swimming pool was really good standard. Breakfast had a good choice & included GLUTEN free items if req’d. Dinner / lunch menu was also good & reasonable priced. Will defo be back for another stay.

FANTASTIC from start to finish. Booked this again for my son and daughternlaw as a birthday treat. They had been 1 year ago and enjoyed it so booked it again for this year. Staff are a credit to them. I called to pay in advance and the member of staff I spoke to had given them an upgrade as it was a special occasion and the 4 poster room was available. They said the room was beautiful, breakfast was great and leisure facilities amazing. I cannot wait to go try this one myself.

Great check in as when we were given a second floor room and my husband wouldn't manage the stairs we were immediately given a first floor room with access by lift. Lovely room, helpful, friendly staff in all areas. Only downside was having booked a meal for 7pm we had to wait till 8.20 before sitting down as it was very busy. My husband is diabetic and having taken his usual medication he was feeling really unwell before we had a chance to eat. The staff were very apologetic but nothing was offered as recompense - even a free drink or bottle of wine would have made a difference. The pool was really handy for us and was clean and well looked after. We would go back and would recommend to others.

Average accommodation and food during short stay in this hotel; cheerful dining room staff; good swimming pool; anomaly in payment procedure about which I wrote to the manager immediately on return home but so far received neither reply nor missing receipt. Good bus service to Dundee V&A on main road a few dred yards from hotel

Had a wonderful overnight stay - staff very friendly - food amazing - rooms very nice and very clean. good prices at bar and nice swimming pool. Very pleased at cost of stay also. Came with 2 other couples and they were very impressed also. We all will be back.

Stayed ay the Hotel on many occasions and cannot fault the room , food or service.Sadly on tbis occasion the Christmas menu particularly the turkey,which most of the part took was poor quality and the accompanying vegetables were of poor quality,others from the oarty choose from the other menu and were equally disappointed on the quality of food, particularly the chicken.Either this was an off night for the chef or standatds are dropping which would be a shame.

We stayed in an easy access room classic King in the new section of the hotel. Our room was very nice. (Would suggest a grab bar in the shower). Lounge was ok...no proper seating for elderly and no places for just two people to sit. Dining room needs to be redone. Very out of date. Having to go up stairs to get breakfast was difficult for both of us. My husband brought me a juice and I said I would just gave hot food. Went to get scrambled eggs and when I opened it there was a hard slab of what assumed were eggs and I tried to stir them and they were solid. I wish I had taken a photo for it was unbelievable. Potato scones were like rubber and inedible. I went back to them table and ordered two poached eggs. So I had that and sausage for I could not eat the potato scone. Evening meal?..... well my husband had steak which he said was fine but the chips were not good. I had fish and it was ok but the chips were again not good. Tasted like they may have been frozen oven chips. We thought we would go elsewhere on our second night but due to the weather we stayed in. We thought we would gave the macaroni and cheese. Mistake....their as very little taste to it at all. My husband spoke with others and they had similar comments about the good. The majority of people there were close to our age and the menu had very little variety for us especially the same menu each night. Very disappointing that a Best Western could not provide better food. How about meat with boiled or plain mash potato and veg with a little gravy. Our stay was a gift to us and we had looked forward to enjoying two nights away. We have stayed in Broughty Ferry before at a hotel and they had excellent food. The staff I must say were excellent and very understanding. We are both 80 but even the few younger people who were there were also complaining about the poor quality of the food. We came home and the next day went to a local hotel and had an excellent meal. My husband had his steak with Diane sauce with onion rings etc, without having to pay extra which you do not offer and I had a roast chicken dinner. I would recommend someone to stay in your new rooms but tell them to hold elsewhere for their meals. Sorry but that is the truth. The staff were excellent so I felt bad having to tell them about our stay.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Woodlands. My husband raved about the pool/spa area - he said it was excellent. We requested a room change - the first room was lovely it was just that the bed was a bit small for us and the staff accommodated this no problem at all. The reception staff were really helpful and friendly. We had a lovely dinner one night and the breakfasts were fine. The surroundings in the dining areas need a bit of a face lift and the breakfast staff need more training. They were miserable and spent all their time setting and then clearing tables! We were told that we couldn't sit at some tables because they needed to be cleared and this was nowhere near the end of the time for breakfast. No one cleared the plates - the first day I actually took our plates to someone and asked her to please take them away. The second day I gave up and sat at a tiny table covered in dirty plates - this is nit picking though - in general we enjoyed our time there.

Stayed here on numerous occasions.Rooms are very comfortable and spacious.Food is of a very good quality.Hotel is well located and only 15 minute walk to Broughty Ferry main street and 10 minute car journey to Dundee

Warm comfortable rooms. Great shower. Great location. Just a 5 minute walk to bus stop and a short 15 - 20 minute stroll into the centre of Broughty Ferry Dinner was delicious, especially the Pana Cota. one of the best hotel breakfasts I have had . Overall a great hotel for a break in the Dundee area

Had a fabulous time at the Woodlands Hotel from the minute we walked through the door. The staff were were brilliant nothing was a problem they were very helpful and so nice. Four poster bedroom was lovely and spotless. Food in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast was really good with lots to choose from. The spa was an added bonus and we used it on both nights. Would definitely return.

This was a great DB&B deal. We usually stay in modern styled hotels, this was a totally different experience with old fashioned touches we really liked. Very relaxing atmosphere. Lovely spa facilities.

The hotel was very good. I would rate it 4 star in all attributes.The staff at reception,the accommodation,the restaurant and the food ? served.All in all a pleasant stay and I will be back.
