The town of East Kilbride is located under 1 minutes drive from the Macdonald Crutherland House Hotel and offers fantastic shopping and visitor attractions.

Start the day with some shopping and after you’ve shopped till you drop, enjoy the many options available in the food courts or try your hand at ice skating end your day with a movie at the multiscreen cinema

To experience what it is really like on a farm and the rural way of life, you visit the National Museum of Rural Life based in Kittochside in East Kilbride.

Try your hand at water sports, or just watch them from the cafe, in the James Hamilton Heritage Park to the north of East Kilbride. The park also offers ornithologists some excellent bird-watching opportunities from the bird sanctuary.

Sports facilities in the town also include the Dollan Aqua Centre and an adjacent EK Park for skateboarders and wheeled sports.

Other amenities include the Village Theatre, East Kilbride Arts Centre and Calderglen Country Park which has a visitor centre, and cafe and plays host to many great family events throughout the year. Both young and old will enjoy the free Children's zoo with everything from meerkats to monkeys and a conservatory with fish and amphibians. The ornamental gardens and waterfall are great places to relax for all.
