Though we did enjoy this break, I'm not sure we'd stay at Redworth again. The room was clean enough, though there were some marks on the bedding. The bathroom was clean and water warm, but the shower wasn't great in terms of water pressure. The staff were nice enough, but didn't seem very interested in chatting and we weren't made to feel overly welcome, or given a clear idea of what facilities there were and where at time of check in. We'd asked morning of check out if we would be able to use the facilities after check out and were bluntly told no. Leisure facility and restaurant staff were lovely, and service very prompt and friendly. If we were to stay here again, we certainly wouldn't be eating in the restaurant again as it's very overpriced for what it is. The hotel itself is beautiful, as are the grounds, but the calm/country aesthetic jars slightly with the feeling in the hotel like you're just one of many guests on a huge resort with staff seeming rushed and distracted, breakfast too crowded, and dinner overpriced and rushed.

A great place to stay, excellent facilities, great food and very good staff. Our room was very nice indeed, we had a great meal in the restaurant and the following evening a nice meal at the bar. Well placed to explore the area, we did Barnard Castle, Durham and Richmond. Highly recommended!

Stayed in a deluxe spa bedroom. Spacious, plenty of storage. Bathrobes and slippers provided. I did ring hotel prior to visit to ask if there was fridge in room as medication had to be kept in fridge. Told no fridges normally in room but would arrange for one to be put in room ready. When I got into room there was no fridge. Non available, so they straightaway offered to put medication in one of their fridges with name and room number put on medical bag. *** thank you***. We had evening meal, breakfast and afternoon tea and everything was delicious. Used the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi All the staff from every department were friendly, professional and went above and beyond to help. Will definately have a return visit

Stayed here for 1 night. Staff friendly, room's cosy and clean, bed was soo comfortable, best night's sleep I've had in ages. Pool and spa great although a little busy on Saturday afternoon, evening meal was lovely, again very busy but still good service. Long queue for breakfast which was ok, nothing special. All in all really enjoyed my stay, lovely grounds and beautiful building. I will more than likely return at some point ?

Room was a bit tired. Was disappointed that there was no bath to have a soak. Bed was uncomfortable. Food was excellent, had afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast and all were lovely. Spa was disappointing. Young lad on desk was uninterested and unhelpful would not allows us to get robes and slippers as we hadn't brought a means of paying there and then. Spa temperature was cold and jacuzzi was out of order. We were only able to stay in the spa 20 mins as we were too cold.

Good Relaxing Break Just back from a relaxing three night/ four day break b/b and dinner all days with my wife at the Redworth Hall Hotel, Newton Aycliffe with Myhotelbreak.com. First the website was excellent. I like websites that not only gives you a choice of dates but gives you the exact cost so you can book right away. Unlike some that want you to call to discuss details before a price is given. Checking in was no problem. We booked a deluxe double room. The term ‘Deluxe’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting here! I have been in normal rooms that are much more spacious than this one. However, the room was clean and ready. The room was a double but only had one chair at the small table. It needed two. The bedside lights didn’t work either. No need to book a breakfast time as plenty space. Breakfast was usual fare available – cereals, fruit, fried breakfast, toast, tea, coffees, juices etc with a hot breakfast as well. Tip - you need to request decaf teas and coffee and you need to order vegetarian sausages. We went to the restaurant for Dinner on three nights. You are recommended to book a time for dinner at the restaurant when you check in. Reasonable selection with vegetarian options. Drinks menu was on the back of the food menu which was good. Served at a good pace not rushed or too long. We went to the bar on the three nights and it was quite busy which in our experience was quite unusual for a hotel bar. We still got a seat though with prices usual hotel rates (£4.40 for a pint of cola though!) If you are b/b you can easily eat in the bar with practically the same menu. We decided to go out and about and the weather was excellent. First day we went to Darlington. Plenty of parking available near the town centre (2 hours free then £1 per hour). Second day we went to Seaton Carew beach. Again plenty parking near beach (£4 for full day). The hotel has an excellent swimming pool with a jacuzzi, sauna and beds to lounge in. Towels are supplied. There is seating outside in the gardens which we made use of due to the weather. Overall an excellent three day break and would recommend it.

Our second stay here. Everything was fine. Just one thing to point out is, as part of the deal there should have been a bottle of wine in our room. This was rectified at dinner, however the waitress forgot to inform reception and I recieved a call saying it was outstanding on the bill.
