Unfortunately not the best start. No heating in room first day but rectified in morning. Food is only average at best. 2nd night I ordered curry and rice. But the rice was far from being cooked, probably near raw in fact. Ordered coffee at bar, and the milk was curdled. They had 2 weddings on so staff were sp. Not be going again. Sorry.

Had a lovely weekend here. Staff were very welcoming. We had dinner on the first night and breakfasts, food was delicious.

Lovely food. Hotel a bit dated and in need of some tlc... especially the family room. No bliNd on window and looking straight out onto car park. Food was lovely.singer wasat the best.

This was the second time we visited the hotel, we were very disappointed with the room it was a smaller room than the last time, it was at the beginning of the first floor corridor, and it was really noisy because it was on a stairwell each time doors were opened under the room it was constantly banging, through the night we opened the winow as the room was hot but the noise from outside coming from airconditioning system was very noisy so had to close the window, as none smokers we could smell stail smoking from the room. Our last visit was fantastic and that's why we returned, the food is fantastic and so are the staff who are very friendly, just felt the room was not acceptable this time, very disappointed.

The hotel was excellent , no problem with the check in and the room was very nice. We booked our evening meal for 8:15 and went down 15 minutes or so early to have drink in the bar. Prices were quite reasonable and there was a good selection of drinks. The menu had a very good selection of dishes and we really enjoyed our meal. Breakfast next morning was also very good. Overall our stay was tremendous value for what we paid.

Bedroom and bathroom were both comfortable and clean. However, the shower head needs to be cleaned properly! Food was a bit disappointing.

Had a wonderful stay, food very good, staff were great, and allocated room was excellent barring the noise of the next rooms expelair, which stayed on for 20minutes every time some one used the bathroom and unfortunately that was 4 times from 11 pm to 7pm, but all in all we were very pleased with our stay.

Exceptional stay at The Gables. Have visited on several occasions (with my wife also having Girl's Weekend also)and it just gets better. Food and service fantastic,such great value.Staff always willing to help. Would have no hesitation in highly recommending.

Lovely hotel, staff friendly and very helpful. We did have a wee problem with our bathroom without any hesitation it was sorted as best they good. Location is perfect. Will definitely go back. We did the Sunday night deal which was great for us.

Friendly and courteous staff, comfortable bedrooms, food delicous and well presented. Breakfast room was a bit chaotic, not enough staff to clear tables and restock buffet items however this would not deter me from staying again, this was our 3rd visit to this hotel.

Overall very good value for money but a couple of niggles. The room was adequate, clean and a comfortable bed but looked out onto a thoroughfare which meant there was no privacy unless the curtains were kept closed. The fan in the bathroom was faulty so no ventilation. The food on the first evening was very good, the entertainment not so good. On the second night the meal was good apart from the sweets, mine was inedible and returned while my wife's was edible but not great. Breakfasts were pretty good but I wouldn't recommend the kippers and the coffee on the second day was like dishwater. Having said all of the above I'd still recommend the Gables for a short break

Having just stayed at the gables yet again I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff and service are excellent the rooms are well maintained and the food in the restaurant is of a high standard. Having stayed on several occasions I look forward to returning.

The hotel was very understaffed. We went down for our evening meal and after 10 minutes waiting for our table we had to go to the bar to ask the barmaid who was serving in the restaurant. She told us she was doing both and then showed us to our table. For breakfast they had one girl serving the food taking the orders taking away dirty plates and re-stocking the food. The poor girl was rushed off her feet. When we checked out 4 members of staff were in the reception area. It would have been nice if the manager asked one to help with the breakfast. The low score is not for the staff serving it's the lack of management that made things so hard for the girls that did the best they could under the cirstances. Our room had what looked like blood on the curtain and the tiles in the shower needed to be re-grouted as they were all black with mould. That's the reason for the bad room score. The food was nice, no complaint there.

Enjoyed our break at this hotel very much. Everything was excellent, friendly staff, room, food and hotel overall. Extremely good value for money. Will definitely be back again.

Below average accommodation, with the bedroom floors & furniture covered in dust. In the bathroom the shower head was extremely dirty & the wall tiles dirty with mould. Waitress service in the dining room was very slow & she lacked knowledge of specials on the menu, but on a positive service was much better in the lounge bar & also at breakfast service. Will continue to use myhotelbreak.com for future breaks, but sadly not at the Gables Hotel in Greta.

Spent a very enjoyable overnight stay at the Gables Hotel, Gretna. From service, room. food and entertainment everything was first class. Well worth the money.
