Excellent venue for visit to borders. Jane on reception very welcoming and accommodating. Allowed access to our rooms early as they were ready. Nice large room with 4 poster bed. Fantastic bathroom with corner jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Ate in bar at lunch time and again for evening meal and both meals were very enjoyable. Good to have evening entertainment at a venue and was of a good standard. 1st class breakfast in morning. Would recommend this hotel as very good value for money.

Stayed here for 1 night with my wife and son. Been here a few times and enjoyed every part of it with no complaints. Unfortunately this time we were all rather disappointed. Had dinner in hotel, but was surprised to find that the choice of fish (on both menus) was limited only to battered fish. Rather unusual for a hotel not to offer a choice of other fish. However, the food we had was fine. At breakfast the staff were not properly prepared with tables not being set in a timely manner and the serving of cooked food abysmal. We had to leave without having the cooked items as they were taking too long. Would think twice about going back, which is a shame as it used to be so well run here. I thing waiting staff and kitchen staff need some further training.

Need to invest in a bell / buzzer / barman. Twice in 30 minutes had to go and find a someone (who appeared to be the receptionist & waitress, as well as barperson), to serve drinks. We were not the only customers frustrated and the hotel must be losing money from loss of sales. Did not even try to get a third drink! Hopefully they staff their wedding parties better.

My husband and I took his sister on an overnight treat for her 85thh birthdsy. We had a lovely stay hoytel upgraded us and putbottle Prosecco in Marys rroom.lovely gesture food accomodstion hotel eccellent. We will be back Thank you Louise.

We were on a dinner bed and breakfast offer and the dinner was from a very limited choice menu which was inside their large menu and were asked to pay £15 per couple for this??????

Drinking chilled Prosecco in the sunshine........... what a fabulous start to the break. The food was fabulous and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel particularly for couples.

Went with my friend for overnight and shopping next day. Outlets were walking distance which is ideal. Our stay at Gables Hotel was just perfect. Room was clean and spacious, we weren't expecting to have family room as booked twin room so nice surprise. Staff were all friendly especially Jane at reception who was exceptionally helpful. Our evening meal was delicious, as was our breakfast in the morning. Definitely recommend and go back.

Not 3 star standard . Very young staff with no lead or direction. No one at reception and waited 10 minutes at the bar before someone came.evening meal poor 2 out of the 5 main meal choices not available with no substitute. Deal included 2 courses for the evening meal but they had to be starter and main course couldn't have main course and sweet!!!! Would not recommend or return

Room clean . Staff friendly and attentive. Have stayed before and found the service and food have improved a great deal . Only fault was tea weak and cold . Really enjoyed evening meal

The score of 5 for Service reflects some excellent staff and some who were not so good. On the whole the food was satisfactory but there seemed to be an over use of black pepper In a lot of the dishes.
