Hotel is in a central location in Blairgowrie with plenty shops etc round about. Didn’t like the self check in computers at very small reception area although there was someone there to assist us. Our room was small with a king size bed and dated furniture although the oddly shaped en suite with walk in shower looked like it had been upgraded recently. Everything was clean. Bar area was spacious but very dark and a bit of confusion about what time they stopped serving bar meals. Bar staff told us 4.30 although menu says 5.30 so best to check. We had 2 nights DBB included but on the first night several items we chose on the menu were unavailable but what we did eat was very nice. You need to remember to book for your dinner as locals use the rather cramped restaurant as well. Buffet breakfasts were taken in a larger more open room and had a good choice of hot food but continental was limited and didn’t seem to be replenished much. Staf seemed pleasant & helpful. We didn’t use the pool or spa on this occasion but all looked lovely. Overall we had a lovely stay and would consider returning if we got a good deal & maybe a refurbished room.

The Angus is a great hotel and I have stayed many times. I believe it's the staff that make it a great place to stay. The pool and spa are great too. Only thing I would like to change was the heat in our room. We had no heating on and the 4 windows open and it was still extremely hot. So thus meant we did not sleep well at all. Room 143.

We had been meaning to try this hotel for some time and are very glad we finally did. Set in the middle of the picturesque town of Blairgowrie, close to shops, a lovely village green and riverside walks plus bus stops right across the road from the hotel. We had booked a "cosy" room but it was big enough and nicely decorated with a spotlessly clean shower room. The food we had was excellent especially the breakfasts and again the dining areas were very clean. An added bonus to this hotel is the spa and swimming pool which again carried on the theme of cleanliness, everything looked brand new. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

Lovely staff who were accommodating. Breakfasts are lovely. Spa treatment was really good but no area to chill afterwards and fresh water to drink as is standard after a spa. So calling it a spa without this area is false. The pool and area is lovely and the jacuzzi is amazing. Cold water to drink in here as well. A Lounger would be a great to have here. Rooms are tired and in need of an update but are clean enough and the mattress is comfy. Evening meals were not the best and some are made up left in a hot plate to serve fast. My starter came out within 2 mins of ordering and as a venison scotch egg with the sauce stuck to the plate and the yoke hard it wasn’t freshly made or have any taste. The sea bass n prawns was lovely but the plate was too small to cut the filo pastry open. No vanilla ice cream and no cheesecake rfoe three nights as well. Prawn lollipops were tasteless and the steak chewy with no thick cut chips as they’d ran out by the third night as well. Parking is limited and not many options nearby to park if they have ran out of space. A cheap few nights away is what I got but have been to better places on these offers.

Room was OK. Very small bathroom. Decor needs updating. Bath did not drain well. Nice pool area, small changing facilities. Jacuzzi did not work for the 3 days we were there, very disappointing. Cooked breakfast was poor. Continental was ok. Dinner was over cooked steak but sent it back and second time round it was most enjoyable.

What a great , night away . Staff were so friendly. We were on a DBB deal , the meal was amazing, especially the surf and turf. We all so got an afternoon tea. We were leaving a bit earlier and they kindly boxed it up for us and we took it home. Would definitely go back . Only down side the rooms were clean but dated .

overall a pleasant stay. Young staff friendly, and generally helpful. Room and bathroom large, clean and comfortable, but a bit tired. I'm told there are refurbished rooms, but you obviously have to know that and request them, Spa and pool excellent. Dinner first night and following breakfast excellent. That day a coach party arrived. Their computer system failed for electronic room cards, and rooms wouldn't open. Obviously not staff's fault, but annoying. Second night dinner was chaotic. Table booked for 19.30. very busy service, though coach party was in separate dining room. First course served at 8.15, then a long wait till main finally served by senior staff member after prompting, and without apology at 8.50. Too late for us to enjoy it.. Following breakfast was also somewhat disappointing. Hot food fine and plentiful but cold buffet not refilled quickly. One coffee machine not working, no milk, crockery or cutlery without prompting. Young staff willing but without direction. On checking out, completely ignored by receptionist (on long phone call), checked out using their computer system and have discovered bill of £33.50 for drinks, was debited twice! Couldn't get through to anyone on phone, so have emailed them today. All in all, room for improvement staffing wise. Though I do appreciate that they were very busy, they should have been better prepared.

We had a great cpl of nights, the staff are outstanding always so helpful, the spa is fantastic we both loved it , the food on our first night was fine no complaints, the tribute night was a different matter the diver was very very good he sounded like Micheal Buble and the second half he sang a mixture of swing and 80s,90,s which was fin by us , the food wasn’t that great but it was ok , lots of floor staff to feed the masses , who were very polite and helpful, breakfast was top notch plenty to choose from , over all we loved it can wait to come back ,
