Recently stayed in a family room at the Angus Hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the family room was very comfortable and all the meals were tasty and the choice at breakfast was plentiful. The spa and pool had been upgraded since my last stay and was enjoyed by all. The only downside was the lift wasn't working and there were a lot of stairs to manage. Evenso the staff were very helpful and carried luggage to the room. Overall a lovely stay.

The hotel was in a lovely setting, car parking can be difficult, the only problem we had was there was a tribute weekend on during our stay, we arrived on Thursday and not told until Saturday, we would not have booked this hotel if we had known, we were unable to have our anniversary dinner in the restaurant which was quite disappointing, also we were directly above the music and it went on til after 12.30 and then had people coming back to their rooms quite noisily. The food was very good, plenty of choice at breakfast we would come back just not when there is music on. There are excellent links by bus to Perth and Dundee.

We were booked in for 3 nights B&B with dinner on the first 2 nights. We booked dinner on our first evening for 6.30pm and still hadn't eaten by 8pm! After asking 3 times when our food would be arriving, we decided to leave. We did have dinner on our third night instead but this is not the first time we had waited a long while before we were fed. At breakfast, we had to ask for cutlery, food items and the fruit bowl to be replenished. There seems to be a lack of staff at meal times. A new self check-in/out system has been installed at reception so the personal touch has been lost when arriving/leaving.

Love this hotel as been before. But this time we left feeling a little disappointed as both nights there was issues with things missing off the menu.. We felt that coach parties were being prioritised before the dining room. Staff in dining room run off there feet. But they still were a credit to hotel. But waiting 45min for main course when asked for all meals to be delivered at same time a pain. Breakfast amazing as always. Lift not working and lots of stairs was hard for all. Maybe time for make over. But your staff from front door back door and housekeeping are all brilliant.

Never managed the break due unforeseen cirstances. The staff at both the hotel (especially Mandy) and Hotel Break could not have been more helpful and understanding to the situation to the extent I was not charged for the booking and therefore not left out of pocket. I look forward to booking through Hotel breaks in the future after experiencing the professionalism and kindness shown by them. Thanks again Dave

We had such high expectations for our visit but unfortunately we were disappointed. The room was hot but reception did give us a fab which helped a little. Toilet and shower room was very small. Food was okay but breakfast could have been better. Spa was nice but could have had its own reception to explain the facilities. The lift broke down and still wasn’t in use 24 hours later. If you have mobility issues this could be a problem. We checked out a day early due to lift not working.

We had a lovely room once we got checked in which was a bit of a nightmare with the self check in. For anyone paying cash you can’t self check in and no signs to say that. Very clean and lots of towels. Food was lovely as were all staff. Unfortunately reception staff said you can’t book meals or afternoon teas with them and we had to wait for bar staff to do this however bar staff said no reception should’ve been able to do this. As a result our evening meal wasn’t going to be till 8pm which was far to late but they did squeeze us in but it didn’t appear to be very busy. Would defo recommend the hotel and would go back again

Positive side: Lovely hotel and staff. Nice rooms and bar. Very good location. Negative side: poor WiFi. Check-in system needs reviewing with check in time of 4:00.

Hotel was in a good location. Parking to front and rear. You check in yourself, although this didn't work and staff member helped. Room 204, nightmare. Bathroom was grubby looking, fresh towels were supplied and a hair dryer was available. The very noisy room next door, opening and slamming doors from 6am. We thought it might be a cleaners cupboard or storage area? We were exhausted. Also, to find the room, go down the steps and turn left, it's a unusual extremely small door. There was some sort of generator outside, started around 5am. The view outside the window is of a rooftop, a very uneasy closed in feeling room. Evening meals were alright, but took around an hour to be served after ordering. The staff were lovely however, very polite. The food portions were small. We ended up going to the Witherspoon's for food. The swimming pool was great, hot tub was a climb to get in and out, so no good if you're unsteady. Breakfast was busy, noisey, not much options as most things were empty. Tried twice at different times, no bacon or scrambled eggs either day. We left after two nights, we had booked for three. We needed a good night's sleep! I have pictures and would upload if it was possible. FYI most shops are closed on Mondays.

Just returned home from another lovely four day stay at The Angus Hotel. Check in and check out (is self check in /out) and we found this easy to do although there were staff there to help. My recently refurbished room (145) was clean and comfortable with new furniture, carpets and curtains and the shower room was lovely. The choices at breakfast and dinner were really good and it certainly was excellent value for money. The Spa, breakfast room, bar area and dining room all exceeded our expectations ? All the staff worked really hard to please the customers. Well done - Angus Hotel - I’ll be back!

Had a great weekend at the Angus. All staff very friendly and helpful at all times in all areas. Ate 2 nights in the restaurant, the service and food excellent. Attended the tribute event, if there was an option to eat in the restaurant instead of the event this would definitely give us the decision to return to future events. The food in the event hall wasn't good. Other residents in same opinion...

Enjoyable stay. Nice sized room which had a double and single bed. The bathroom was accessed by a sliding door, which both my sister and I had problems to move. Sometimes it rolled back open it's self. The facilities were great we used the pool every day. Buffet breakfast that was adequate, fresh fruit or rolls would have been good. The meals in the Restaurant were lovely, we ate there for the 3 nights. Unfortunately on the last evening we had a wait of an hour for food, with no apology given or explanation for delay.

Bedroom very good lay out with modern furniture and facilities, bedding and bed very good giving great sleep, staff are really friendly and welcoming . Spa and pool area very nice, greatly improved from past years. Sometimes more people in the pool than booking allows so some must just go there without booking , first day at the pool there was around 20. Couldn’t really get a swim. Dinner was a bit of a hit and miss. First night ordered Macaroni and it was like cardboard, totally inedible. The manager who was serving us took it back to the kitchen, on his return he informed me that the chef had also confirmed it was inedible!!!!!!!!!! should this not been discovered before sending it out to the customer. Was asked if there was anything else I would have and I chose the steak pie, as my wife had that and it said it was delicious. I ordered that and it was delicious, all be it my wife was finished hers by the main course by the time I got mine. The steak pie was slightly dearer than the Macaroni and I was charged the dearer price on the bill No reduction on the bill from food or drinks ordered. Second nite ordered sea bass and prawns wrap in noodles , way over done again but did not see any point in raising the issue due to treatment of the disappointment the night before. Did not eat in restaurant on the third night off our stay. Everything else in the hotel was a really good experience, including breakfast in buffet restaurant. We have been at this hotel three or four times now and will return but I think it will only be on a bed and breakfast basis . Someone else returned the Macaroni the second night and it was the same problem that over cooked it was like cardboard, so lessons not learned. Hopefully for the hotels sake they sort out this problem quickly before it’s too late
