The hotel is in a lovely setting which is very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable, the only thing lacking was an ironing board and a second hand towel. Dinner was tasty and served promptly. Breakfast had good choices, but no porridge on offer.

Very comfortable 2 night stay. Whilst the hotel could do with a make over, its looking tired. we had a comfortable room and the food was excellent and the staf made us feel welcome and couldnt do enough for us. we would certainly stay again

Room stayed in room 130 very basic as Hotel allocated with dogs. Reported room heater not working reception visited immediately to check. It wasn’t working but offered the key for next door room which we could move into any time during evening We considered but apparently that one had heating on permanently Buffet breakfast on 24 was well overcooked as possible catered for bus tour people Breakfast on 2nd day was taken to order and was nice The rooms where dogs allowed appeared to be over boilers and machinery and from very early sleep disturbed The leisure pool was lovely If we were to return with dogs I would request another room on same corridor Hotel staff welcoming and pleasant very dog friendly Location ideal for walking

Great wee hotel. Really dog friendly. Nice food. Beilliant staff. Great for kids with the added bonus of the pool and sauna.

The hotel is gorgeous from the outside, and the grounds are wonderful. The inside, however, needs some money spent on it and some TLC. Some of the carpets were threadbare, and our room had a big crack in the ceiling where water had come through it. The bed was really comfortable and we had a good size bathroom. We did the D,B&B deal, and my husband really enjoyed his meal. My starter was lovely, but my salad was far too salty (as if the quinoa was soaking in salty water for too long). However, my desert was delicious. The staff we're lovely. We would go back because of the grounds and staff, but not for a while. Overall the price does not reflect the quality.

First time at the Barony Castle hotel and not disappointed. A good room, excellent food both at breakfast and dinner. All the staff were great - excellent value you for money. Would love to go back.

My first visit to Barony Castle and I will certainly return. All staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Nothing was any trouble. The hotel was very clean and lovely decor. The food was amazing as were the tails! Loved the leisure facilities and the location of the hotel.

Bedrooms could do with being updated . Floorboards are horrendous! You can’t walk anywhere without them making a noise . Soundproofing very poor between rooms also . Hotel itself is lovely with a very relaxing lounge area . Food was also very good . Very peaceful location . I would go back again but maybe try a different room . We enjoyed our stay .

Absolutely fantastic stay. My daughter and I had a lovely family room. Lovely wee pool with heated loungers. The staff were amazing. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and the restaurant staff made her a beautiful birthday plate and sang happy birthday to her.

This was my second time staying here, albeit with my friends four legged companion. Staff were exceptional in their presentation and as a guest were polite and eager to help. Will certainly be back hopefully with better weather than we experienced. Small critique was the rooms were looking rather tired, although I have to say this was not a problem as felt comfortable having the dog with us.

Stayed here before and as usual staff very friendly and service very good. Lovely relaxed lounge area. Food very good and breakfast were quality with plenty options. Will definitely stay again.

Quick checkin, room ready. On top floor with walkin shower as requested and the room nicely decorated, clean n spacious. Good service over the few days with staff heplful n friendly. Stayed on DBB basis and food excellent, plenty choice n cooked to good standard. Pool and spa relaxing. Lovely calm, quiet atmosphere in hotel which we love having stayed here many times and already have our next returned planned.

Booked for a special anniversary with prosecco on arrival. We do do feel Barony Castle does NOT live up to it's 4* rating. Hotel is very dated and tired, needing tlc, carpets replaced and a lick of paint. Our room was spacious and tidy, but definitely not a quality bed! Wine was in room on arrival. We had dinner the first night, tried to book for 6.30pm but were told it would need to be 6pm or much later, took 6pm. We were the only ones in the restaurant til a coach of OAP's arrived about 7!! If we had know that the hotel receives 2/3 coaches for overnight stays every day, we would never have booked here. Dinner was nice although not huge portions. I had to send my soup back as was just lukewarm but came back hot. My dessert of raspberry tmisu tasted nice but was like eating a biscuit, very crunchy not soft and smooth. I ate about half then gave up, I did point this out to the waitress who informed me that they have had complaints about it but the kitchen choose to ignore said complaints. Nor was any offer of taking the dessert off our bill forthcoming. My coffee afterwards also had to be sent back...twice as was cold, we waited a very long time for them. We ate out the 2nd night. Breakfast was buffet style obviously for ease and to accommodate the large coach parties, but it was disappointing and for a 4* we had expected it to be cooked to order. If the Premier Inn can do it.....? Just saying! I had sat my bottle of prosecco out the way as I had only drank half of it but on returning to our room on our 2nd day discovered housekeeping had thrown this out. I did go to Reception to complain and was told he would sort something out, but nothing materialised. It's too expensive for what you actually get and the surroundings are not up to par and with bus tours....no thank you, will not be back and would not recommend.

This is not typical of the kitchen and we will most certainly be looking into this immediately. With regards to the hotel being tired, we do have a refurbishment program in place and are working hard to update and refresh rooms and public areas. Unfortunately, this is a slow process but we will not give up until we have achieved our goal. I am also very sorry about the Prosecco being taken from your room. Again, I will be investigating this and asking why reception didn't resolve quickly. I shall also let the housekeeping department know your comments on the toilet paper. As for the groups, we do welcome a number of groups to the hotel. This is something most hotels now need to offer to ensure they fill their rooms. I am sorry this was an issue for you however, I am not sure that I can rectify this as these groups are important to the hotels occupancy over the year. I am going to take all your comments to our directors and we will discuss them in full to see where we can make immediate changes to ensure guests have a positive experience when they stay with us. Hotel, staff and meals were excellent. Issue with continuous irritating noise that made sleeping soundly a problem..maintenance couldn't find the cause...only thing that spoilt the break.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Barony Castle Hotel. We went for a 2 night DBB break to celebrate my husband's birthday. The room was very nice and roomy. Towels changed both days though we didn't ask. The breakfast was buffet and not as hot as we wd like but plenty of choice. Dinner in the evening was lovely and enjoyed both meals. Made use of the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, lovely and relaxing. All staff were very friendly and seemed happy to help. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking to get away from.it all

We found the two nights dinner bed and breakfast excellent value and thoroughly enjoyable. The only down side was that the shower over the bath did not work very well. Scalding hot or cold. I would recommend asking for a rubber mat too.

Stayed for a couple of nights midweek. On arrival we booked in for our evening meal. Unfortunately the times remaining were either early evening or later. It was the same for our second night. I assume this was due to the coach parties. Would contact them and booked ahead if you like the popular times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was closed on our arrival day but thankfully opened up the next day. The food was very good

First class stay from start to finish. hotel was spotless , staff very plesant, heipful and attentive , Food in resturant was amazing and very reasonably priced , breakfast buffet was superb with lots of hot food and choices for all preferences . Will definatley be back .

This was a gift for my retirement so was looking forward to it,but felt disappointed. Paid extra for deluxe room would say it was satisfactory only . Housekee could have done a better job as light fitting and lamp full of dust,heating not working to full capacity. Treadmills in gym running belts slipping so unable to use ,did say at reception and was advised they were waiting to be fixed but no out of order placed on them and pool cold. Staff and food lovely.
