We had an excellent stay at Barony Castle Hotel. We arrived early but the receptionist checked if our room was ready and we were allowed in. The room was very clean and comfortable. I used the pool which again was very clean. W enjoyed seeing the Polish Map in the grounds. We had a meal in the restaurant, We had half portions of the main courses so we would have room for starters and desserts and they were more than enough and all delicious. Breakfast was equally good. We enjoyed a few drinks in The Blue Dug bar too. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Fully understand that this is an old building but the squeaky floorboards in bedroom and corridors is really loud. We were on the second floor and found the toilet took several attempts to flush away. The lift smelt very strongly of mechanical oil or grease. I went to use the suana and had to sit on the top lodge for over half an hour before any sort of sweat and usually I cannot be in my own sauna for more that 10 mins. Staff were friendly and the food was really delicous.

We spent two nights here with our Spaniel and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful and allowed the dog to stay with us during our meals. We had to eat in the bar, but that was not a problem. Breakfasts were good and the food was great. Would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel. Great value. Rooms were comfortable Staff very friendly A great bonus was having a dog friendly room near the exit door Wonderful grounds for walking the dog Food was very good and loved the steak on the lava plate, made the meal a bit special. Pool was quite small but not an issue and the treatment from Darlina ? was fabulous. All round a great stay and would definitely return.

We recently stayed at the Barony Castle Hotel as a party of 6 in 3 rooms. We got a great offer of dinner, bed and breakfast. This included an allocation of £32pp per night to spend on your dinner and you can easily have 3 courses if you wished. Drinks in the bar are priced reasonably. The rooms were great and quite spacious - although we had extremely squeaky floorboards but then again it is quite an old hotel so it really didn't bother us too much. The pool is free to use for guests staying in the hotel, with no booking required. Just remember £1 coin for your locker. We had a great time and ALL staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. It is a great deal so be sure to check it out :)

We had a pleasant enough stay and the food was very good. Our room was comfortable but quite small, there was a large shower that didn't work that well and no bath. The room TV was small and dated to be honest.

Good points…..lovely setting with beautiful grounds to explore. The mapa Scotland was very interesting. The hotel looks very imposing. The public areas are very nice. The staff are all friendly. Food was very good, we really enjoyed our dinners. Breakfast was buffet style & all a bit hap hazard. The food was the usual lukewarm breakfast. A bit disappointing. They did offer a specials menu at breakfast but this wasn’t encouraged by the staff & at £5 extra per item, it wasn’t really very attractive! Bad points…..we upgraded our room to a deluxe room to get a king sized bed. This definitely was NOT a deluxe room! It was a small Attic room on the 3rd floor, with a small recessed window so it was very dull & required the light on at all times. The floor was incredibly noisy. We have stayed in many older hotels with creaky floor board but this room definitely won the gold medal. It was unbelievable right around the floor. We actually thought someone had come into the room at one point but that was someone walking in the corridor outside the room. No going quietly to the toilet in the middle of the night in this room. It did have a nice modern toilet with a large rain shower but it’s just a shame they didn’t think to fix the floor when they were doing the toilet up. As I said before, it is really stretching it, to class this as a deluxe room. It has a king size bed & a nice modern toilet but it takes more than this to make a room deluxe. The management really need to look at this! It you are offered room 301 AVOID! We do have a video of us walking gently around the room if anyone would like to hear it.

We had a lovely break at the Castle. Our room was very nice and cozy. The room was recently decorated and spotless as was the en-suite bathroom. The public areas were Really nice and the restaurant was excellent. The service was beyond compare and throughout the hotel the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals were delicious and very high quality. He grounds are huge and very interesting including The Polish Map of Scotland, which is incredibly interesting and beautiful. We had a lovely break and highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Booked as a belated birthday treat and everything was excellent. The extras requested were are delivered and John was the very model of how to ensure guests are happy. His communications before we arrived ensured everything ran smoothly and nothing was too much trouble for him. We enjoyed our stay so much we will definitely be back and are telling our friends all about it.
