the room we were allocated was for disabled use this would have been alright if the shower area eg. the tiles had not been so much in need of a clean they were disgusting to be honest they were black with mildew not the usual standard for your hotels

my family and I en Great wedding venue the reason for our stay at Barony Castle. Very relaxed atmosphere. buffet breakfast was excellent & the staff were very pleasant & helpful. would stay again.

Pleasent staff,decent room and leisure facilities. Wine not in room on arrival had to ask twice for it. Waited 51 minutes at dinner for my drink. Food was good but main course portion could have been better.

Bedrooms very dated, the little staff they did have did a good job but the lack of them let the hotel down..had to wait a long time in the restaurant to get a drink never mind food!! But did enjoy our time there due to a wedding we were attending.

We had an enjoyable stay and was most definitely good value for money. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food was fine and I would consider staying at the Barony Castle again.

Staff very pleasant but shower only functioned when scalding hot and was not sorted despite being reported. Bath pop-up waste did not work. Despite being on the menu, there was no tartare sauce to accompany my scampi-explanation given-"We've run out"! Marmalade bread and butter pudding was awful-dry as could be. Service of meals was slow. Breakfasts, however, were lovely.

A PLEASANT STAY. THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THE LACK OF DEAFENING. WE HEARD EVERY MOVEMENT FROM THE ROOM ABOVE WITH FLOOR BOARDS CREAKING. MY WIFE HAD TO BUY EAR PLUGS TO GET SOME SLEEP.

although the room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable getting up to the room was quite difficult for an aged couple - one small lift followed by a maze of corridors and finally two flights of steep stairs with a heavy case. We asked for a room nearer the lift but was told there were none available. The person on reception did offer to help me with my case but he seemed so busy that it was easier to struggle with it myself. Although the young waiters and waitresses were doing their best the food service was very slow both at the evening meal and breakfast the following morning. There were not enough staff on duty on both occasions and everyone seemed to complaining about the length of time it took to be served. We had a very enjoyable stay. Bed very comfortable and we were well looked after. We did see a bit of chaos in dining room as one couple's order didn't arrive which then seemed to put all staff in a bit of a fluster.

Bedrooms need a bit of work done. Creeky floorboards, could hear the people in the next room walking about which was becoming unbearable. Didn't get fresh water in the fridge, when we arrived one of the bottles had been opened, so obviously not been replaced from the previous occupants. Cabinet door was hanging by one hinge. Lovely building and gardens. Bar area was modern and fresh, dining area was clean and meals were first class.

Lovely hotel and grounds. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the chef made a special effort for my dietary requirements. The bar was rather expensive however.

Stayed here on many occasions and love it, however the standard bedrooms do require upgrading as they are a bit tired and dated now. The bed linen and towels were lovely and fresh however carpet was not hoovered despite us reporting this twice. Some of the furniture and fittings are in need of repair. As we do not pay full price, usually go when a deal is on, the rooms are ok, you get what you pay for! This is a lovely wee place but some of the rooms may put some people off. Everything else about the hotel is good, staff are very nice and helpful, food lovely and grounds beautiful.

Sunday 29 .We waited 45 minutes for starter and bottle of white wine .This was our third attempt to order a bottle as they had run out of 8 bottles that were on wine list.We ordered steak and a mixed grill for main courses which were extremely overdone but did not send back as we had by this time waited enough. Unfortunately this wasted our overall view of the hotel as location and history was a good selling point I feel so much more could be done to enhance the hotels customer experience.Staff were helpful .I feel they are let down with management poor organisation skills.

Had a lovely stay at Barony Castle Hoteld. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them.The Hotel was clean and friendly and food was very good. Liked the ideal of a meal allowance which allowed me to choose exactly what i wanted. Will definately be having a return visit. Many thanks
