Third visit at this hotel and will be back again. We had a room with two double beds which was great. Food is great. Staff are great. No complaints.

We had a lovely stay yet again at The Riverside. We upgraded to a ground floor room with outside seating which was fab as it was a lovely day. The staff were first class as always especially the young girl Tyler who served our table. Food was amazing. Gluten free options which I need as I’m Ceoliac. The staff at breakfast too were so helpful getting Gluten free cereal gluten free sausages and toast. I also asked for natural yogurt which the lady kindly got for me. Nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment at night was fab. A lady singing and her pianist. We will definitely be back again

Beautiful entrance - dirty & dated bedrooms. Restaurant food was absolutely delicious, great portion sizes too. Rooms were awful, misleading online when booking. Units were grubby with missing handles. Holes in windowsills. Bathrooms dirty, mouldy, dull & very outdated. Stains on bedroom carpet.

Lovely stay, rooms lovely and food was fab, although the food choices for the deal we had were limited and we ended up ordering from the main menu which worked out expensive. Overall a good stay!

I checked in and reception looked great as did the bar area. Food was fantastic in restaurant. The room however was awful in all honesty it was dated, solid bed, bad board hanging off the walls and we actually discovered that despite there being heaters they were switched off at the mains because " it was summer" which made us laugh as the weather was torrential. Heating is individually to taste or at least should be so this was a real let down. The rooms were very Blackpool B&B standard. There was info in room to press 0 for reception but no phones. It became obvious there main concern was the wedding scene and kitted out reception and areas well if but slightly cheap. We never slept because of the snooker table like bed and left about 8am with no breakfast because we wanted home asap. The room smelled like old wood and I couldn't use shower it just felt dirty so waited until I got home. If I was there as a wedding guest I'd have had little complaints as bar was stocked well and food great but as a staying guest it was well below standards.

Lovely reception and bar restaurant. Room seems freshly decorated but bed not comfortable and bathroom in need of update and shower very poor. We were first floor room farthest room away on corridor seemed miles to walk. Food very good, service slow and lacking at breakfast , no bread for toast and gave up waiting while another lady stood a good 15 mins waiting or bread to be restocked. Good bar but prices high, no atmosphere as empty, probably because its so expensive. Lovely meal though. Given lower score for food only due to breakfast poorly stocked

Was sadly disappointed with this hotel. Service wasn't great, room was grubby including bugs in the ceiling light. Main courses had to be requested 3x and we were charged for a dessert that was never received. A much needed break for us a couple wasn't what we expected sadly. Total waste of money.

We had a lovely stay , The hotel on entering is lovely well maintained and very eye pleasing. The room was very nice spacious and clean. The restaurant is nice and food was nice too although staff were lovely and very helpful service was very slow. Food did not all come out together and ours was going cold waiting on our friends food coming. We waited a long time on food coming and were only asked once would we like drinks. The waiting area to get seated is in quite an awkward spot and we had to keep moving to let people by with food etc. would have been nice if there was music playing in bar area later that night. Room was nice and clean only problem beds noisey and on walking to reception there was a smell of dampness at one particular area in hallway. overall we had a lovely stay staff were so nice and we did enjoy our time at the Riverside just a few wee tweeks needed as we have said but otherwise a nice stay with lovely staff l.

Room was fine but bathroom not good Brown stains on bottom of bath and smell of mildew from shower curtain Male receptionist on checking in wasn’t very friendly however the staff in the bar and restaurant were lovely and were working really hard with 2 large coach groups

It was my wife’s birthday & our anniversary,we booked a DBB deal for one night. Room was spacious with the added bonus of a picnic table through our patio doors.There was a bottle of wine on arrival,our evening meal was lovely and there was a great choice at the buffet breakfast. Staff were great and overall we had a wonderful stay.

Used hotel several times previously. Dining experience not great. Given a 3 course menu (set menu meant to be a 2 course), main courses selection poor, mash potatoes with steak pie, chips instead. Waitress gave us different dessert menu (had to pay extra) so declined. Told us it was a 2 course with our booking. Yet only a few weeks earlier, different Waitress assured us it was 3 courses after we queried the menu. Staff are not on the ball with the menu. Manager showed us to our table and had to brush off food from the seat. Not a good thing to see. Building materials left next to bottom of stairs leading to first floor. Same materials were here on our previous stay at end of April. Not a good look for guests. Paperwork in room advises additional toiletries can be obtained from reception including a shaving kit. I had forgotten my razor so I asked for one at Reception but was told they don't do that. Who from the hotel is checking room paperwork info is up to date? Bedside table and lamp not in situ at left hand side of bed, only the right. Toilet/ bath/shower clean etc but dated and needs modernised. Room for improvement at this hotel, especially the set menu for 2 course meal. Paper menu provided food stained. Should be laminated and sanitised after being used by different guests.

We had a nice time staying at the Riverside Hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was ok but wasn’t impressed with the shower or the fact that on my side of the bed there was no bedside cabinet.

There needed to be more attention to detail , as there was soap left in the shower from previous guests, and at breakfast some items were left under the heat lamp so long they were well over cooked and inedible. And also the butter had run out and had to ask to get some

Love staying at this hotel. Great service throughout our stay, from checking in, drinks at the bar and the foid was amazing. Booked our deal through myhotelbreaks.com. so a wee bonus bottle of wine in our room on arrival.
