Had a good stay over three nights. Our room was one of the biggest we have stayed in but is in need of some TCL. Staff were very attentive. A decent break away.

Some staff did not turn up on the Saturday night, causing delay with our meal, but the manager went out of his way to make our stay memorable. First class!

Excellent hotel for a get away 2 day break.Bedroom was comfortable, buffet breakfast was fresh and very good and the quality of food at evenibg meal was second to none. We are regular visitors,

this is an excellent hotel staff always cheerful and very helpful at all times. rooms are very comfortable and spacious. we had a great few days.

I do not understand how this hotel gained its 4* rating. The premises have the potential but the quality of service food etc. falls far short. When we arrived the recepotionist had difficulty finding our booking. We were allocated a room and found it had only one bedside table which we reported to reception. Although we were told the housekeeper would be informed, we never heard any more about it.The shower head slid down and around the bracket. At dinner my sife ordered gigot of lamb with roasted veg. Without any explanation, it arrived with boiled veg.At the first breakfast we arrived about 9.30. No one was at the desk and one member of staff stood at the far end of the restaurant chatting to a customer for almost the whole time we were there. There was little or no orange juice and no one about to ask for more. In the end we asked a lady who was clearing tables for coffee! For dinner the second night I chose honey dew melon. I was asked after I ate it if it was OK. I said I had enjoyed it but it was water melon not what was on the menu. The response was: Oh was it! For main I chose haddock which I was told came with vegetables. The vegetables turned out to be two boiled potatoes, a potato fondant and two small pieces of courgette. When I signed for food and drink the chit had no prices on it so I mentioned this when I checked out. "No problem - I can print you out a bill!" Another guest checking out mentioned in my hearing that there was no hot water in his room. "No problem - I'll make a note on our records!" The guest made it clear that he saw this as very much a problem. These are all relatively small irritants but combined they represent a culture not appropriate to a 4-star hotel.

Initially asked for change of room as ours overlooked disused leasure facilities resulting in a totally black outlook and an inability to open the window. Staff were extremely helpful and changed our room immediately. Both rooms were a free upgrade deluxe room which were stunning.

Staff could not be bettered, just so good, we don't get that very often nowadays. Well worth their tip. The extract fan in toilet did not work, when we copained they said the had switched them all off because cutomers said they were too noisey. The toilets are not on an outside wall need I go further?

Hotel great, staff pleasant and helpful. Only minor complaint that the hotel was too warm, so we will be back in the winter months!

We have stayed in this hotel many times and are never disappointed. The family rooms are very spacious. Food is outstanding and staff are always very friendly.

Hotel was exceptional value with the room that we had well furnished.The bed was comfortable.Their was also a large plasma in the room and tea/coffee making facilities.The b/fast was very tasty with hot/cold options.The staff were most helpful.

We arrive at the hotel at approx 1415 and were advised that our roomas not ready, we then had to wait an hour before it was ready for us. Apart from that we enjoyed our 2 night break apart from the Air Conditioning not working we have no complaints. We would return to the hotel in the future.

My daughter, myself and her twins had a great time at the Menzies Hotel in Irvine. Staff were great, room really nice, food really good. We will be back.

Hi We had a couple of days at this hotel.The staff were friendly and efficient and made us welcome. Bath room design suggest towel rails at the wash hand basin otherwise the room was good. Weather Scttish and mixed.

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Menzies Hotel. Food was excellent, bedroom very spacious and well presented. The staff were very friendly and very approachable. All in all a great hotel to explore the attractions of Ayrshire.

The staff were all very freindly and very helpfull. The food and service were first class, all in all we enjoyed our stay. The only fault was with regard to dusting, there was more dust than there should have been.

Hotel fine weather was terrrible no fault of yours. The menu on the second night omitted some of the sweets which were on the main one but that's just nit picking.

A good overnight stay - The dinner was good but we were disappointed with the breakfast. The choice was very poor. We had previously stayed at the Cambridge Menzies Hotel and were expecting the same standard of breakfast.
