Enjoyable stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meals were good. Liked the new layout in the public areas.

This is the second time this year we have stayed at the Riverside and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are very helpful and looked after us from the Reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping. The hotel is very relaxing and the refurbishment in the entrance and bar/restaurant is outstanding.

Have stayed at this hotel several times and have always been very very happy but not this time .buffet breakfast was not stocked up no pastries no bread for toast no fresh fruit all it needed was to be replaced I asked member of staff but waited 15 mins still empty . Ordered Fruit basket for room got 2 apples 2 kiwi and 3 Strawberries not acceptable. The service was poor in the restaurant for evening meal was also poor was sat at table and waited 40 mins before order was taken then another 30 mins before we got our food stayed for 2 nights yes the public areas of the hotel has been done to a very high standard but the serice let's the hotel down now such a pity.

Just back from the Riverside Hotel and as usual staff were brilliant. Can't do enough for there guests. Nothing is too much bother.to them. Rooms spotless. But I am very very disappointed in the new set menu. The old favourites have been removed. The staples such as Steak Pie. slow cooked lamb, 1/2 roast chicken etc. Even if you go a la carte you are unable to order them. New menu does not excite me in any way. On the plus side the renovations are a real success. Mrs Agnes Cook

This was our second visit. Enjoyable but not as good as our first. Set menu was disappointing. No option to upgrade, unlike our first visit. Room in need of updating. We could have done without the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night!! Bins hadn't been emptied and dirty glasses sitting outside our door. Bit disappointed to be honest.

Good value hotel for what we paid. Especially since the recent refurb. Bar area and dining room very nice. Would stay again but wouldn't have the goats cheese ball starter as there was very little cheese in them! Mainly potato I think. Staff were friendly.

A very enjoyable return visit to this hotel. Since our last visit, the Reception area, Bar & Lounge, and Restaurant had all been refurbished. They have done a fantastic job ! All these areas look superb. The welcome from all the Sataff was also excellent, and the Dinner and Breakfasts were both excellent. Special comment has to be made on the dinner... I remember the food being pretty decent on our last visit, but this time it was absolutely superb !! My Fiancée commented that the Steak Pie was the best she’d ever tasted... Well done to the Chef !! We will definitely be back. Looking forward to the upgrade of the Bedrooms next !!

We had a one night stay which was a great deal for a room with 2 course evening meal a bottle of wine on arrival and a full breakfast the next morning.We took our small dog with us the hotel is dog friendly but dogs not allowed in public areas.Our room was spacious with 2 double beds and French windows with a grass area for the dog to go outside.The hotel has had a refurbished reception and bar and restaurant and we were under the impression the rooms are next on the list which are showing thier age but they were clean and even had an iron and ironing board.We would recommend this hotel to anyone stoping over in the Irvine area and a great base to explore other places on the coast.Well done Riverside Lodge and for Myhotelbreak for this great offer we will be back.

As usual our weekend break was excellent. The staff are brilliant. Rooms spotless. New lay out works a treat. Food good. Only complaint is we miss the buffet breakfast.

Nice friendly staff in all areas. Food delicious, lounge, bar & restaurant refurbished to a v high standard. Breakfast lovely though there was a bit of a wait to be served, didn’t bother us but others were getting a little impatient. Would definitely recommend great value

My wife and I had stayed in this hotel back in February and enjoyed it so much we decided to go back. They are doing a major redevelopment of this hotel and the difference so far is amazing. The staff are very friendly and the quality of food is excellent. We have already said that we will go back later this year so see how the changes are coming along.

Had a lovely chilled overnight stay at the Riverside Lodge Hotel on Saturday night as a birthday treat. Staff were very friendly and cheerful. Nothing was a problem. Food was excellent and rooms comfortable. The upgrading of the reception bar and dining area was lovely.

Was impressed with the appearance of the reception, lounge and restaurant area. Bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy. Wasn't impressed with restaurant service - very slow and we were disappointed with our main course - some was undercooked (veg and chips nearly raw) and some overcooked (meat very dry)

Initially upon arrival the hotel had no record of our booking. However we were made to feel very welcome and the problem was soon rectified. We were lucky enough to be given one of the newly refurbished rooms, which was gorgeous. The staff were clearly having a few teething problems. However everyone was very friendly and we were looked after well. And the refurbishment is beautiful. Would head back in a heartbeat.

On arrival, our room was not ready, ie, unmade bed, phoned reception and within a few minutes we were moved to another more spacious room which we were really happy with. We had booked dinner for 7.30 and from there things went downhill, we waited ovr an hr for our starter and then the same for our main course, the staff in the restaurant were really apologetic and we got offered a bottle of wine as an apology for our wait. Overall the hotel is lovely but the restaurant needs to get more organised, and the food and drink poor quality.

We where given a room that had the heating turned on to imum , staff had to move us to another room at the back of the hotel which was no good as I suffer from vascular problems , we didn't get the free bottle of wine which was part of the deal , we where very disappointed with this hotel as it ruined our visit to the hospital to see family , bed where a disgrace , hairs in the bath numerous things that we did not like .

Had a lovely overnight ! Dinner was great plenty to chose from!Breakfast was also good! Need to upgrade on the Toaster toal nightmare waiting for a slice of Toast . Beautiful lounge and Bar to relax and enjoy your evening! Hotel staff very helpful. Looking forward to next vist to see the new Bedrooms. 8 out of 10...

we had a lovely stay at this hotel the refurbishment the bar and reception areas are outstanding, we were able to use the dinner voucher for lunch which suited us, the waitress I think her name was Phemie, (hope that's right) was a wee star is sharing her local knowledge, food was loveley, our room hadn't been reburbished but was clean and we slept well, would recommend
