Some of the bedrooms need upgrading but for value you can't beat it,they were well cleaned .The breakfast and evening meal were above expectations and the service is really friendly.

The hotel was easy to locate and ample car parking spaces. A good welcome at reception and good communication about meals etc. The room was comfortable and clean. There was some repairs to the main door frame and hand washbasin that were messy but otherwise all was well. The windows desperately needed a clean as they looked as if they hadn't been done for months. Main windows in the hallway were similarly filthy. A cream tea was provided as part of the deal and this was lovely as was the evening meal that evening. Choices good and wine list varied. Staff were particularly helpful as we also found at breakfast which was also a joy. We stayed for 2 nights and will definitely return and would recommend this break as it gave us the opportunity of exploring Ayrshire. Minor quibbles aside, this was a most pleasurable stay.

We have stayed at this hotel many times, but it just wasn't the same, this time. The staff have all changed, the food wasn't great, the taps were wonky and the toilet wouldn't flush! Our hotel of choice is, sadly, no more!!!

On arrival the room we were given was not acceptable - very small, shabby and cold due to gap in window frame. Went to reception and advised that we had booked through Classic Britain and expected a better standard of room. To be fair we were very quickly upgraded to a superior room which had been refurbished. We have stayed at the Menzies Hotel many times and have always enjoyed our stay there.

Hi just back from an overnite stay. Lovely big foyer I don't know if I would place this hotel as a 4 star as the room needing upgraded. It was clean and well equipped however shower looked tired. We were upgraded and had a lovely large room. The rest of the hotel looked as if it had been refurbished so maybe upgrading the rooms are planned. The food was lovely and we had a really nice breakfast in the morning. There was also some entertainment provided on the sat night which was nice. Overall stay was gnd. And we would go back.

Very tired and run down hotel with the bedrooms in need of refurbishment, booked restaurant and had to wait 20mns to get a table, had to wait a further 1 hour for the main course, Very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel.

Had a great stay. Carla on reception along with trainee Stuart made checking in a pleasure and Kelly in the dinning room along with Katie and all other staff members made our evening meal a pleasure. Great breakfast on both mornings. Service and food were really good. We will be back for another visit soon :-)

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Hotel room nice, bathrooms getting a bit Ireland along with tHe windows. Hotel was full due to Valentines weekend and restaurant was really busy, didn't get seated for dinner until just after 9pm which wasn't the staffs fault. Diners were not vacating their tables. Hollie and her staff did a great job of keeping people happy.

Great break, food fantastic, big NO-NO was no window that could be opened for fresh air or natural light resulting in both of us being ill the next day, room so warm I couldn't sleep well as I forgot there was a fan! That was my second stay and clearly a room on the other side was super!

Nice hotel but very tired, our room was massive but had extremely dated furniture, fittings etc and badly in need of lick of paint! As it was Valentines night the hotel restaurant I felt had been very overbooked, our dinner was supposed to be half past eight and it was ten to mine before our table was ready then we were left another fifteen minutes before they came back to take our order, there were people still coming in to eat at 10pm and I did hear a few grumbles all around! The meal itself had no faults and was fresh and piping hot and well done to the staff who were battling against it but who remained polite all the time! The breakfast next morning was lovely with usual buffet fare, if you left hungry it was your own fault! Drink prices at hotel Extortionate!! All in all enjoyed my stay but would like to go back in a few years time when some money has been spent on this hotel!

Nice open reception area, bedroom spacious and two chairs appreciated. Good bathroom, Food good too, though breakfast food seemed to be cooling off by 9 am - ish. We enjoyed our stay, but more info re local amenities would be very useful.

Lovely peaceful w/end in this hotel. Really couldn't find fault with the staff. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be returning. Holly we done for making it even more welcoming in the dining room, your staff are excellent ????
