Riverside Lodge Hotel, Irvine

Booked in for a wedding anniversary night celebration. Reception, bar and restaurant areas were lovely, modern and bright. Rooms in need of TLC. Were left standing waiting to be seated at dinner as two female members of staff looked at us without acknowledgement, then continued with their gossip. Very rude. Rest of staff were more professional, and the meals were fantastic. First time at Riverside and will return.

2nd visit in a month to Riverside and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really pleasant staff, nice hotel, very good dinner and breakfast. Lovely room with a big comfortable bed. Only fault is the blackout curtains, excellent, but the pelmet is not quite long enough so the room becomes very bright around 4.30am.

On the positive the hotel is lovely, the room was nice and clean but a bit tired and in need of decoration. The service for the meal at night was delicious however service was very slow. Breakfast was a disaster, tea flask was empty so took coffee, later when the tea flask was filled there were no spare cups to get tea. Went to make toast and there was no bread, bread eventually got replenished then they ran out of butter. There was orange juice but no glasses. On going to the hot buffet there were no plates. The buffet was never fully stocked ie if there was sausage and bacon there was no eggs or potato scones and vice versa. The staff were helpful however the breakfast was very poorly managed. There were 4 of us and not one of us got a full breakfast :(

On booking, requested ground floor room not far to walk. On check in put upstairs as no ground floor room available and no lift, and heck of a walk. However, the hotel was good value for money. Hope they get a lift installed soon.

Stayed 2nights DBB on 19 June. Fabulous hotel, our twin room was stunning with door to outside courtyard. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Felt very relaxed as soon as we walked into reception, has very calming atmosphere. Menu was lovely and very well priced and great portion size. Will definitely be back, just loved our stay.

Hotel entrance, main reception, bar & restaurant were lovely, staff were lovely, food was excellent, room was disappointing, bedding didn't fit properly, (duvet was too small for duvet cover) chairs were a bit unhygienic looking..

This was my second stay at Riverside Lodge so I knew what to expect. The hotel offers good value for money but in my opinion, if you are looking for a special treat, look elsewhere. The public areas are well appointed and the bedrooms a good size with comfortable beds. However, on this stay, there were a few housekeeping issues that we informed reception of. Although the food from the set menu was tasty ,I felt that some of the restaurant and bar staff needed a bit more training. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and worth what we paid through myhotelbreak.

Spent 2nights at the Riverview hotel and we’re given an upgrade to room 258 which was a massive two double bedded room with patio doors opening onto the garden area with picnic bench just outside the patio doors ideal for sitting out on a nice sunny day( which they were).The hotel staff were really pleasant and helpful as were the dining room staff, breakfast and dinner were also excellent couldn’t fault anything during our stay, will definitely recommend and will return. We had a lovely stay at the Riverside Lodge. What made it even better was that we got a beautiful room with a door leading out into the gardens, my husband has walking difficulties and this helped a great deal. We were supposed be in Mexico to celebrate our ruby wedding which was on 5/6/22 but we got a big surprise from our daughter telling us that she was expecting a baby in June after trying for 24 years, so we had to cancel the holiday abroad. The room was spotless and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was good as it always is.

We stayed in the Riverside hotel on Friday night,I must admit it is a fantastic hotel ,the rooms are lovely well decorated,the foyer of hotel is absolutely stunning you can sit and have a drink here ,also a decking area outside to sit at night . The dinner at night was restaurant quilty first class food and service. Breakfast in morning was buffet style was okay but I do prefer a cooked breakfast put down to me Staff were so helpful and very friendly.

Our overnight was lovely except for a guest shouting banging on door at 5.00pm in the morning which woke us up and could not get back to sleep This continued for some time Hotel and staff were great enjoyed our stay

All the staff (with the exception of the receptionist who checked us in) were very friendly, polite and helpful. We felt they cared very much that we enjoyed our stay and were comfortable; and we were. There was a pleasant feel to the hotel which is unusual with one so big, and we felt very relaxed there. The food was exceptionally good and I cannot recommend the macaroni cheese high enough. We had a really good stay there.

This was our first time at this hotel, warm welcome from received from reception, assigned a lovely spacious well equipped room with requested ( walk-in-shower) & bottle of chilled wine in room, the evening meal was above average with good choice & excellent service (10/10) faultless! The breakfast was buffet, as is many hotels these days; However,it was acceptable (6/10) albeit I really don’t like tea/ coffee self dispensed from vacuum flasks, And I don’t like toast ready made & left sitting, apart from these minor irritations, we had a very pleasant stay, as the location is ideal for exploring Ayrshire, I would certainly recommend this hotel & will probably return in the future.

Was disappointed to arrive on one of the warmest days of the year, only to be advised that we were unable to make use of the outdoor drinks & dinning area due to a wedding taking place. Would have been nice prior to arrival to be made aware that there was a wedding taking place so we could have made the decision on whether to proceed with our booking, Room wasn’t the cleanest, marks on the wall, marks on bedside lampshades & bed hadn’t been fully made properly ( quilt not fully input to quilt cover or fastened)
