We enjoyed our stay room was large clean, beds comy only pity they do not have outside seating weather was lovely and would have been nice to sit outside with a drink.

Did think we would have had choice of main menu too and paid extra if needed, on saying that all of us did enjoy what we had. We found our room excellent,clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good too.

A very disappointing stay! We'd stayed at the same hotel a few years ago, with a similar DBB offer, and really enjoyed it so we were looking forward to a return visit...but never again. The staff are very polite, but not very helpful. The rooms haven't changed a bit in the last few years since our last stay, and are starting to get tired - hole on cushion on bed, many pulls in the materials of soft furnishings, and scs/scuffs on the walls and furniture. On the surface the room looked clean but the filter on the kettle was absolutely filthy, and one of the mugs supplied was also dirty (not just stained with tea/coffee, but actual dirty mark on bottom inside). We also found one of the towels in bathroom was badly stained. The most disappointing aspect for us was the food - small portions, poor quality, and grossly overpriced. We both had 2 courses (starter and main) we left feeling full but totally unsatisfied with what we'd eaten. For example, my smoked haddock fishcakes for main appeared to contain no fish - they didn't taste or smell of fish (even vaguely) and I couldn't see even a tiny flake. I felt like I'd got 2 potato croquettes & some (not particularly hot) French Fries on the side - the fries could have been very easily confused with those from McDonald's - only a smaller portion. Breakfast was even worse - served between 7 & 10, we went at 9 & found there was no orange juice left, no pastries left, no bread left for toasting. On asking they eventually found a 1L carton of orange juice...but as you will imagine that didn't last long. The bread was topped up on request but if you wanted it toasted you needed to join the queue to use the one & only, tired old toaster. I don't have a problem with toasting my own bread but if this is the case they need more than 1 household toaster! No butter left by 9.10, the jam/honey/marmalade pots were all mixed up (I realise this is guests fault but needs to be kept an eye on). The hot food...we it wasn't hot. The sausages & potato scone were cold, not just cool but cold. Bacon was brick hard and cool, and the scrambled eggs were completely dried out and cold. The beans appeared to have been warned as the sauce had thickened but they were a similar temperature as straight out the tin. We both asked for tea & were brought one small teapot - at that size we really should have got one each. We did eventually get more when we asked but feeling like you're constantly asking for food & drinks to be topped up is off putting at a buffet breakfast. All in all a very disappointing stay, and we won't return

Friendly staff throughout. Our 2 night stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. Room was large and clean. Dogs are welcome in the rooms and reception area. Food was excellent quality for the evening meals. Breakfast was buffet with a large selection of choices. Good location as only a few minutes in a cab into town.

Our stay at Hallmark Hotel Irvine was absolutely fine. The staff were all very nice. Our room was lovely and big - and clean. Very comfortable bed. The food was fine It was very good value and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

We stayed on Friday, 30th June 2017. We stayed on a Dinner, bed and breakfast basis. Our room was clean and comfortable. The Dinner was lovely and I would say the same for the breakfast. The hotel is classed as four star. I wouldn't class it as such. It looked a bit tired, especially on the stairs and communal areas, there is no lift, and I felt it was in need of a bit of TLC. The staff were lovely and nothing was a bother, they were all very nice and chatted away with the guests. After our meal we went to the bar, I asked for an Irish Coffee - no Irish Whisky on the premises. I then asked for a Baileys - no Baileys available. I was a bit disappointed as it would have been nice to finish off the meal. My husband was a bit disappointed as the only draught lager available was Calsberg or San Miquel.

Staff were all very nice and helpful nothing was any trouble. Room needed a bit updating but very comfortable. Seemed to be an issue with hoer though. Breakfast was nice but didn't seem to replace fruit and yoghurt. Dinner was good new menu caused a wee bit of an issue when we didn't get bread with lamb tagine . Staff needed to check menu to see if meant to have bread it was very nice though. All and all tremendous value for money. This was our third visit and will definitely be back. Once again all staff were excellent.

Absolutely fabulous service. The staff in the restaurant were so young, polite and helpful and a credit to the restaurant manager. The food was excellent and a great size room. Very impressed.

Overall good weekend although breakfast both mornings very slow, we waited awhile to be shown to a table but gave up and found our own only then to wait on a lot of breakfast dishes to be refilled as with a lot of other guest trying to keep their breakfast warm. The restaurant wasn't really that busy but definitely felt short staffed Sunday morning was the same although we were offered tea coffee this time!! Restaurant Friday night was good service and great food this wouldn't stop us booking again in the future

we stayed here same time last year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. this year was very different! whilst the staff and food were good, the room was very cold. we had no hoer all weekend! I tried to call reception, but the room phone was broken! The whole place needs refurbished. Looks really tired and worn in places. Indescribable marks on our room ceiling. Although the price was good, we will certainly not be returning.

Central for going in to town and exploring the area. Staff very helpful and no complaints about the dinner and breakfast, both were exceptional. Furniture in room a bit tired but large rooms, clean and adequate. Would stay again.

I enjoyed the overnight stay at the hotel. We had afternoon tea which was lovely. The hotel restaurant was lovely and food was to a great standard. Although I slept well I felt the room could have been cleaner and was in need to refurbishment. Overall a good stay for what we paid.

Stayed for 1 night on sat 18th Feb arrived early but room wasn't ready not a problem so just walked into Irvine,room was nice and spacious. Had dinner booked as part of our deal ,dinner was good value.only down side was no evening entertainment so had to go into the harbour area for our night out but overall would stay here again,can't comment on breakfast as I didn't make it.

Very nice room. Unfortunately there was a wedding on and the guests were very noisy! Not the hotels fault. Very pleased with the aftercare I left my phone behind and they posted it to me the very next day. A + customer service . For what we paid it was a nice nights stay, not too impressed with menu in restuarant, would have preferred an allowance and just pay the extra would have been a lot more to choose from.
