Been to this hotel many times before and always found it very comfortable. This time when we arrived we found that we were allocated a twin room but wanted a double so they moved us to room 262 which overlooked the old swimming pool. We found the room to be very uncomfortable through the night with no air in the room so in the morning we were moved to another room which was fine but we were only there for 2 days. This has not put us off going back as we like the surrounding area.

we enjoyed our couple of days at Menzies, Irvine and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. My only negative comment would be that despite the Classic Britain web-site advising "best room available", it seems that Menzies (and other hotels booked through your web-site)seem to allocate standard rooms as the "norm".

What a lovely friendly place to stay. Felt welcome from the start to end of stay. Kelly in the lounge, Holly in the restaurant where I really must say the food was excellent, especially the meringue and the cheesecake (Yummy) and Kirsty on reception as well as all the staff made our stay so enjoyable. Only thing room was so COSY didn't want to get up for breakfast. All in can't wait to have another visit, thanks for making our stay so enjoyable all.

Service at breakfast was a bit impersonal. We were shown to our table and then just left to it . No explanation to breakfast layout given and we had to ask for tea/coffee. Excellent service at reception and the bar. Had a very nice weekend stay.

Fabulous hotel. Large, comfortable rooms. Lovely lounge and bar areas. Food and service outstanding. All staff excellent. Free WIFI in all areas, including bedrooms. We return again and again - a really relaxing and special experience.

Information from reception was only given after being asked Hotel is not quite as described it is a hotel nothing else Breakfast is good if you go down early not so good after it has been left a while and not looked after

Visited this hotel many times, bedroom had no bedside cabinet on one side and shower was disappointing( in other words cold) apart from that it was fine for 1 night, staff good and food good, parking good.

Decent hotel. Could do with air conditioning as the room was very warm. Staff are friendly and helpful but can't understand why it would be classed as 4star, just a decent 3 star really.

Very fast and efficient check in. Bar and restaurant was very good. Really big room with two good Queen sized beds. Furniture in rooms was a little dated and could be renewed but other than this a very comfortable stay and really good value for money. Ideally situated for trip to Isle of Arran as it's only 8 miles from the ferry terminal at Ardrossen. Thanks to all staff at the Menzies Irvine for a very comfortable stay.

Room lovely, food fab, staff very nice. Was spoiled by other guests and housekeeping banging doors from 7.15 am , the hotel seriously needs to do something about the doors, they cannot be closed quietly , need to be oiled or something.

Quick, easy check-in. Lovely, large, comfortable bedroom, with the biggest bed I have ever seen! Excellent, relaxing afternoon tea. Beautiful, 3 course dinner and fantastic breakfast - everything you could want! All of the staff are friendly and very efficient - makes us want to keep coming back!

My husband and I stayed at the Menzies Hotrl in Irvine recently. The deal we bought was for afternoon tea, dinner, bed & breakfast and a free upgrade if available. I can honestly say that it could not have been better. The service was friendly. The food was great. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The shower was great, only too often you get one that is dodgy, water too cool or water pressure too low but no complaints. The room had a fridge which we made use of as well. All in all a great night away. The only complaint was the fact that we got there about 5 and had the afternoon tea and were still full for dinner at half 8! Next time we will book in earlier. Thank you Menzies for a lovely stay.
