Hotel is lovely, we weren't in a refurbished room, but our room was still lovely. Restaurant was really nice and food that good, we decided to go back on the second night. Above all, the staff are exceptional. Go out there way to help in any way they can. Would love to visit again.

Had a lovely stay again at the Riverside, this is our 3rd stay, reception and restaurant has been refurbished and is looking fantastic, room clean and great size but a bit tired but they also going through refurb so looking forward to coming back when all complete, food was great as was the staff

Absolutely brilliant that's the second time I've spent there the staff made us feel very welcome when we arrive and the room was just to our satisfaction.however the set menu well what can I say very disappointed as I didn't like anything on the set menu that I had to upgrade but other wise a pleasure to stay 10

Review of Riverside Lodge Hotel Reviewed yesterday We had a lovely weekend staying here with my elderly parents. We all thoroughly enjoyed it . The staff were very warm, welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our break. My mother has a health related dietary requirements, the staff were so helpful towards her needs. Book restaurant on arrival or at booking if a specific time wanted. The food was very good, offered a good choice and drinks were reasonably priced. The rooms are being modernised at present but were very nice even though our rooms weren't finished. Our beds were new and very comfortable. Our rooms were clean. One side of hotel has a river view but the other views a new housing estate. We were on the estate side but hardly spent time in our room to be annoyed by that. The public areas are beautiful with plenty of comfortable stylish seating areas to choose from. We arrived at a very busy time, the hotel had 2 weddings on and there were a few birthday party celebrations. Later in the evening 2 bus loads of foreign tourists arrived and despite being busy the rooms were well sound proofed we heard no excess noise. We enjoyed the happy busy atmosphere on the Saturday then the quiet luxury on Sunday and Monday. I fully intent to return and will recommend to family and friends. Well done to the staff they're doing something right

Lovely hotel stayed here a few times before it changed they have done a lovely job doing up the public areas rooms still require modernisation which I’m sure they will do to the same high standard food was lovely the only thing that let it down was breakfast not enough selection breakfast buffet area far to small needs revising

An amazing hotel doesn't look much on the drive up but beautiful reception and restaurant and bar area. Room was a bit tired but clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone for a wee night away

Restaurant and bar has been refurbished to a very high standard. Food was excellent. Prices off food and drinks are very reasonable. Staff are all UK and friendly and very helpful. It’s a 20min walk to town centre with a nice sports bar, Chinese restaurant, etc. Unfortunately rooms have not yet been refurbished and are a bit scruffy and dirty. When rooms are done this will be a cracking hotel.

What a beautiful hotel that’s recently had a major refurbishment .Rooms I believe have to be finished by the end of this year which will make the hotel even better . The staff are all so lovely especially Katie . Food was gorgeous . Will be back .

We had a lovely stay at Riverside Lodge Hotel. We have stayed here many times and have to say the refurbished public areas are lovely and definitely 4 star. We were also allocated an upgraded room and have to say we were very happy with it. We did feel that breakfast on the Sunday morning was a bit chaotic simply due to the number of residents staying in the hotel and perhaps more staff required. On the Monday morning it was very quiet and breakfast was served to us rather than a buffet. The food in the hotel was very good and have no complaints regarding this. Would prefer to have tea and coffee served to our table rather than self service, especially when it was busy. Found all the staff very friendly and professional in carrying out their duties. We will definitely be back again in the future.

The refurb of this hotel is well underway and the reception bar and dining areas are stunning. Looking forward to coming back next year when the rooms have been refurbed. Well done to all the staff we had a great night.

Public areas been refurbished to a high standard . Food and service in bar and restaurant excellent. Only complaint is the menu they give you on the mains 3 pizza 2 fish 1 burger and 1veg option so not much to choose from . Unfortunately the room 202 wasn’t refurbished and very much in need of it .

b&b break at this hotel. the deal itself was great with a bottle of wine included. the hotel is currently under renovation. the ground floor public areas are lovely. the rooms have still to be upgraded as they are in need of major refurbishment. the breakfast was a big disappointment with not enough hot food items having been prepared for the amount of guests staying over. also there are building works taking place outside the hotel so the outlook from the rooms is not pretty.

Nice looking building when we drove in car park spaces good size and easy to find, walked into reception very nice, modern with marble floors, enclosed fire within the wall beautiful, got checked in easy and quickly, we went back to the car to collect our overnight bag walked back into the hotel tried to wipe our feet again as the weather was terrible pouring from the heavens all day, got into middle of the reception next thing I was down slipped on the marble floor and thought I had broke my hand. I got up and my husband and receptionist asked was i ok everyone in the bar stared i finally got up and headed to the double doors to the rooms i really gutted my both knees and hand when I fell heavily on the slippery marble floor, receptionist said she would do something, I later saw a yellow slippery floor sign where I slipped. Dinning area was very nice we had dinner was ok, a drink but I was in too much pain to sit so went back to the room, corridor carpet needs a very good Hoover and one of the beds i think had been slept in as the duvet cover when I pulled it down was severely creases not like the other bed, black hairs in the bath and dust on the back of the door also patch of wall not painted (odd) the room was needing refurbished , we checked out in the morning receptionist who checked us in asked how we were i said very sore oh why, after last night s fall , nothing said. I am so disappointed that there is no sufficient mat at the door to wipe your feet especially when it is raining and no one from the hotel came to make sure I was ok, thankfully it was not an elderly person who slipped as it would have been broken bones.

The staff were very good - cheerful and helpful and mainly British..Very unusual. The public areas have been refurbished to a very high standard but as yet, few of the bedrooms have been upgraded. Our room had been renovated but the carpet could have been improved by a quick shampoo. The bedrooms are to be completely refurbished exr twand all carpets will be replaced then The meals were mixed - dinner on the first night was good and the next two, not so good.. Would we go again? Yes, if the chef on the two last evenings goes away , or improves.

Love this hotel near harbour & town. Refurbished lately beautiful. Rooms very clean & comfy. Dinner was very nice. Disappointed no buffet breakfast anymore breakfast was ok could have been warmer.
