Bedrooms are a bit tired but we are aware it is set for modernisation since it has a new owner. I hope he keeps all the staff on because they are super friendly and helpful. Food was also very good. Building works outside were not great but .....

For a last minute booking Flash sale DBB with wine = VERY GOOD. Food nice - a tad slow in the dinning room but the food was hot and very good so worth the wait. Staff very helpful.

Well done Frank and staff. We ended up staying 4 nights. Even though this hotel is going through refurbishment it was a pleasure to stay there and we look forward to going back even though we live only a few miles away. We were having some building work done at our home and to have this hotel practically on our doorstep was a bonus and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. 10 out of 10 .

It was ok, used to get 3 courses with evening meal package but just 2 now, breakfast was a bit of a disaster with the food cold on cold plates, having second thoughts about visiting this establishment again, plus there is going to be a lot of construction works going on around the hotel as they have sold land for housing, in fact on my receipt the name of the hotel has changed to Riverside lodge. Not what it used to be unfortunately !!

Our stay was really good value but our room this time was certainly not the same quality as the room we had here in October. The hotel say they hadn't received our request for a double room so we had been allocated a twin room. This was quickly altered by the receptionist. The first floor corridor was littered with glasses and bottles from the previous nights guests when we arrived at 3pm and they were still there when we returned after dinner. There were so many glasses you would have needed a trolley to take them away and needless to say this did not give a good impression. Barman brought a bottle of wine to our room and just ignored all the empties. View from the window was of a muddy building site, some furnishings were stained or needing repair and the bathroom could do with a lick of paint. We had 3 meals in the restaurant and on 2 of these occasions we were the only diners there so there was virtually no staff either and no atmosphere. Food was okay but nothing spectacular. Not great when our visit was for my husband's birthday.

Heating in hallways were not on the whole time we were there and it was -5 outside . No radiators in room just portable ones . Overcharge for meal that was meant to be included in price . When complained at reception told to see at restaurant it was only £10 I was over charged but was not wasting my time chasing folk about to argue about £10

good weekend break. The staff at the bar were great. Never got a great sleep the second night as there were x mass party on and when the people were going to there room they were shouting at each other along the corridor and carried on the party in there room. Told the reception staff when leaving and they didn't seem to bothered and told us it was the time of year which i understand but they have to respect the other guests using the hotel. This was my second stay but i wont be returning at this time of year again

Fantastic stay rooms are clean and comfortable i booked the disabled room for my parents and it was perfect for them. We had a nice spacious family room it was lovely, stayed in the hotel for Lunch and Dinner and the food was very good. Bar staff where lovely and a credit to the hotel. Cant wait to come back for our next stay.

We loved the Hallmark Hotel. The minute we went in to the hotel we were made to feel very welcome by the receptionist. We arrived 1hr before check in time as we were not very sure of where it was. Our room was ready and we were given the key. The room (145) was very nice, and very clean. Their was a bottle of wine waiting for us (included). We had booked on a DBB deal and the food we had was very good indeed with a lovely big menu to choose from. We will definately visit here again and will keep looking for a good deal again. Thank You

Was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and how tidy the room was. The dinner was delicious and well presented also the breakfast was amazing. Very happy with the night away at this beautiful hotel. Apart from the bar staff, her face was tripping her.

Have stayed at this Hotel a few times now.We always enjoy our stay & always find the staff extremely pleasant & helpful..Never let down by the evening food on offer.Breakfast at times could be a bit warmer,but i suppose thats to be expected from a buffet style breakfast.Will definately return.
